As an athlete who has competed in all levels of track and field starting at a young age and gradually gaining the skills, experiences, and opportunities to become a high performance athlete, I would like to be a voice and representative for all athletes of all ages for British Columbia Track & Field. I have represented BC at many National Championships over the years including the Legion Championships, BC Summer Games, and both Junior and Senior Canadian Championships, represented a Canadian University by competing for Simon Fraser University for four years, and also had many incredible opportunities to represent Canada on the international stage as a junior and senior level athlete including the Olympic Games. Over the years, these experiences have given me great insight into the process of becoming a successful athlete and I am continuously learning new skills to elevate my ability and reach my full potential. Even though athletes focus on the challenges that lay before them on the road, course, track, or field there are also challenges that lie behind the scenes of competition. After being the BC Athletics Athlete Representative for the past 2 years, the contributions that I have made to discussions have been valuable and constructive. An athlete's perspective is crucial to assisting the Board of Directors overcome challenges during planning and preparation for events, team selection, and athlete support. I would like to continue to be a representative for all athletes and I look forward to helping create positive changes that can make a difference within our provincial sport organization. Thank you for your consideration and taking the time to vote!
