The New York Botanical Garden is using the Flora Neotropica monograph series as a model for digitization. We describe our efforts at digitizing Flora Neotropica monographs and why digitization of hardcopy descriptions must be a priority for the WFO project. Assim, o trabalho teve como objetivo fazer o levantamento das espécies de Gimnospermas e Angiospermas ameaçadas de extinção com exsicatas depositadas no Herbário da Amazônia Meridional (HERBAM). A pesquisa foi realizada entre maio e novembro de 2015, mediante a análise do banco de dados de 2.137 espécies, identificadas por especialistas em taxonomia, florística e parataxonomia. As famílias estão de acordo com a classificação do Angiosperm Phylogeny Website e as espécies ameaçadas estão conforme o “Livro Vermelho da Flora do Brasil”, seguindo as categorias de ameaça conforme a União Internacional para a Conservação da Natureza (IUCN). -
