The most important consideration initially must be range and environment. By using your judgement and experience to gauge your attackers range, you can increase the distance between you, which gives you time to decide on your defence, reduces your chance of injury and unsettles your opponent by removing his advantage of intent and forethought. As Mr. Parker said "Distance is your best friend". This is known in Kenpo as Depth Perception which allows you to follow the logical sequence of how I have been taught all of my techniques, the most important is the first one, followed by the second and third. The eight considerations or factors that must be followed in combat if you are to be successful are : • Environment • Range • Position • Manoeuvres • Targets • Natural Weapons • Block • Cover I have chosen eight techniques from our syllabus in order to show how Kenpo uses depth perception and gauging footwork to prevent and eliminate the threat. -

In Europe, the School of Internal Arts (pseudonym) follows key principles of the ancient Chinese text The Yijinjing (The Muscle-Tendon Change Classic) “Skeleton up, flesh down”, in its online and offline pedagogy. This article draws on an ongoing ethnographic, netnographic and cross-cultural investigation of the transmission of knowledge in this atypical association that combines Taijiquan with a range of practices such as Qigong, body loosening exercises and meditation. Exploring the ideal body cultivated by the students, we describe and illustrate key (and often overlooked) body areas—namely the spine, scapula, Kua and feet, which are continually worked on in the School of Internal Arts’ exercise-based pedagogy. We argue that Neigong and Taijiquan, rather than being forms of physical education, are vehicles for adult physical re-education. Kibatsumejitsu (The Art of Fighting with Fang and Claw) Compiled, contextualized and Expanded by “Super /k/ill guy” Martial Arts Characters trained in the martial arts may use this Skill to replace the Brawl Talent. Martial arts has long been depicted as a tough, timeconsuming calling, which is reflected in the rules for its acquisition. During character creation, Martial Arts Skill costs two Skill dots per dot desired. If raising the Skill with freebie points, each additional dot purchased costs three freebie points. Raising this Skill with experience costs 150 percent of the normal amount for an Ability. However, characters with the Martial Arts Skill gain access to a variety of special combat maneuvers. Additionally, all martial artists learn how to throw their foes. Special Maneuvers and rules for throws are provided in the Systems Chapter, pp. 140142. A martial artist must define her style as “hard” or “soft,” which indicates the type of special maneuvers she can learn. In 1955, General Choi Hong Hi named the art he founded as TaeKwon-Do. General Choi was born in North Korea and his lifelong dream is to see Korea once again unified. General Choi's pen name is Chan Hun, which means "small cottage". Tenets of TaeKwon-Do (TaeKwon-do jungshin) A tenet is an opinion, principle or doctrine, which a person holds as truth. EXPLANATION OF TENETS Needless to say, the success or failure of Taekwon-Do training depends largely on how one observes and implements the tenets of Taekwon-Do which should serve as a guide for all serious students of the art.
