FORD MEDIA CENTER Ford Issues Safety Compliance Recall; Expands Safety Recall for Vehicles Containing Certain Takata Airbag Inflators DEARBORN, Mich., Jan. 18, 2018 – Ford Motor Company is issuing a safety compliance recall and is expanding a safety recall for certain Takata airbag inflators in North America. Details are as follows: 2018 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles for intermittent automatic reversal function in rear door windows • Ford is issuing a safety compliance recall in North America for approximately 363 2018 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles for intermittent automatic reversal function in rear door windows. • In the affected vehicles, certain second-row window control modules were manufactured with an incorrect electronic component. If the power-operated window does not automatically reverse when it encounters an obstruction while the window is closing, it may increase the risk of injury. • Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with this issue. • Affected vehicles include: • 2018 Ford Expedition vehicles built at Kentucky Truck Plant, Nov. 27, 2017 to Dec. 9, 2017 • 2018 Lincoln Navigator vehicles built at Kentucky Truck Plant, Nov. 27, 2017 to Dec. 7, 2017 • The recall involves approximately 363 vehicles in North America with 361 in the United States and federalized territories and two in Canada. The Ford reference number for this recall is 18C01. • Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the second-row window electronic control module at no cost to the customer. Safety recall expansion for certain Takata airbag inflators • As part of the third planned expansion of vehicles included in Takata airbag inflator recalls described in National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Takata Coordinated Remedy Order, Ford is expanding its safety recall on vehicles with certain passenger frontal airbag inflators after Takata declared those inflators defective. -

OWNER NOTIFICATION Certain 1999 3.0L Ranger Trucks - Water Pump PROGRAM Replacement 99B15 July, 1999 To: All Ford and Lincoln Mercury Dealers Subject: Owner Notification Program 99B15 - Certain 1999 3.0L Ranger Trucks - Water Pump Replacement OASIS: Yes OWNER LIST: Yes PARTS RETURN: No PROGRAM TERMS: This program will be in effect until April 30, 2000, regardless of mileage (After this program expires, the vehicle may still be eligible for this service under any remaining vehicle warranty coverage) AFFECTED VEHICLES Certain 1999 3.0L Ranger Trucks built at the Twin Cities Assembly Plant, Louisville Assembly Plant and the Edison Assembly Plant from March 8, 1999 through April 12, 1999. REASON FOR RECALL The affected trucks were built with water pumps that may have excessive axial runout of the water pump hub threads. This could result in water pump failure and possible engine overheating. SERVICE ACTION To correct this condition owners of the affected vehicles will be advised to return their Ranger to the dealer to have a new water pump and gasket installed at no cost to the owner. DEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 30, 2019 – Ford Motor Company is issuing four safety recalls in North America. Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with any of these conditions. Safety recall of select vehicles for potential lack of seat restraint in the event of a crash Ford is issuing a safety recall for: 1. Certain 2018-20 Ford F-150, 2019-20 Ford F-Series Super Duty, 2018-19 Ford Explorer and 2019-20 Ford Expedition vehicles with a manual driver and/or front passenger seat-back recliner mechanism, and 2. Certain 2020 Ford Explorer and 2020 Lincoln Aviator vehicles with rear outboard seats with manual seat-back recliner mechanisms. Affected vehicles may be missing the third pawl required for seatback strength. A seatback with an improperly assembled recliner mechanism may have reduced strength and may not adequately restrain an occupant in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. This action affects 483,325 vehicles in the United States and federal territories, 58,712 in Canada and 8,149 in Mexico. Ford Issues Two Safety Recalls and Two Safety Compliance Recalls in North America DEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 31, 2017 – Ford Motor Company is issuing two safety recalls and two safety compliance recalls in North America. Details are as follows: 2017 Ford F-150 and Mustang vehicles • Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 935 2017 Ford F-150 and Mustang vehicles for ARC passenger air bag inflators. Ford was notified by Takata, a supplier that uses the inflators in airbag modules, of an abnormal deployment of ARC’s passenger airbag inflator during testing conducted at Takata’s engineering facility. • In the affected vehicles, the ARC inflator may rupture during a front passenger airbag deployment resulting from a crash which may result in metal fragments striking vehicle occupants and causing serious injury and death. • Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with this issue. • Affected vehicles include: • 2017 Ford F-150 built at Kansas City Assembly Plant, July 20, 2017 to Aug. 1, 2017 • 2017 Ford Mustang built at Flat Rock Assembly Plant, July 20, 2017 to Aug. 1, 2017 • The recall involves approximately 935 vehicles in North America, including 650 in the United States and federalized territories, 279 in Canada and six in Mexico.
