What the timing of these two events means in the plan of Divine Providence may be unknown, but developments since then show that Fatima remains uppermost in the minds of many Catholics throughout the world. Shortly after the English edition of the biography appeared, for example, attorney Christopher Ferrara criticized a passage in the translation involving words of Our Lady, and he interpreted the mistranslated passage as a deliberate attempt to alter the facts relating to the Third Secret. -

Catholic Candle's List of Priests & Those Who Claim to Be Priests
Revision date: November 6, 2020 Catholic Candle’s List of Priests & Those Who Claim to be Priests This list primarily focuses on whether there is any doubt concerning the validity of the ordination of a priest whom the faithful might encounter. Note: Catholic sacramental theology requires that an ordination be treated as invalid if even the slightest reasonable doubt exists, concerning the validity of either the ordination or the ordaining bishop’s consecration. See the analyses elsewhere in Catholic Candle, which demonstrate the inherent doubtfulness of conciliar ordinations and consecrations: http://catholiccandle.neocities.org/faith/new-ordination-doubtful.html https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B49oPuI54eEGd2RRcTFSY29EYzg/view https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B49oPuI54eEGZVF5cmFvMGdZM0U/view Also, in the list below, Catholic Candle flags sedevacantist priests (or supposed priests) of which we are aware. Sedevacantism is a grave error and is schism. See this article analyzing the sedevacantist error: https://catholiccandle.neocities.org/faith/against-sedevacantism.html This is not a list of “approved” priests. It is the beginning of a prudent investigation concerning a particular priest. Fr. Patrick Abbet From Switzerland. Ordained in 2002. Source: STAS.org website, where he was an SSPX seminary professor. Fr. Stephen Abraham As of April 2017, he lives in a house with Bishop Richard Nelson Williamson, in Broadstairs, England. There are serious problems with this SSPX-ordained priest. Is the Vatican Using Jiu-Jitsu on the SSPX?
Is the Vatican using Jiu-Jitsu on the SSPX? “I myself saw, in the years after 1988, how the return of communities which had been separated from Rome changed their interior attitudes; I saw how returning to the bigger and broader Church enabled them to move beyond one-sided positions and broke down rigidity so that positive energies could emerge for the whole.”– Pope Benedict XVI’s 2009 Letter to World’s Bishops on the “Remission” of SSPX “Excommunications” Jiu-Jitsu is a form of Martial Arts where you use your opponent’s strengths against him. I cannot help but wonder whether this is the tactic used by today’s Vatican against the Society of St. Pius X. What is the strength of the Traditional Catholic if not a desire to be obedient; love of the papacy; filial piety; good order, and the longing to be instrumental in helping to bring an end to today’s unprecedented crisis of Faith. We now hear unofficially – that is, not directly from Pope Benedict himself – that for “regularization,” the SSPX will not be required to accept the Second Vatican Council and the New Mass. We hear the Pope is ready to grant this because he wants the SSPX to help him correct the crisis in the Church. Indeed, as I have said in the past: if it is true the SSPX does not have to accept the Council, this could be a real game-changer. It could mark the effective end of Vatican II. For it is impossible that one group of Catholics in the world could be considered “exempt” from embracing the Council, and other Catholics are still bound to accept it. -

Mons.

TRUE OR FALSE POPE? Refuting Sedevacantism and Other Modern Errors Foreword by His Excellency Bernard Fellay
TRUE OR FALSE POPE? Refuting Sedevacantism and other Modern Errors Foreword by His Excellency Bernard Fellay A CFN Interview with John Salza and Robert Siscoe Release date December 2015; 700 pages; taking orders in early December at www.trueorfalsepope.com 1) What prompted you to write the book? Siscoe/Salza: A thorough refutation of Sedevacantism has been sorely needed. Due to the crisis in the Church and the papal scandals that have become so commonplace, Sedevacantism is a topic on the mind of many people, but to date there has been no complete refutation of its errors. While the number of Sedevacantists is relatively small (.001% of the total number of Catholics), there are many Catholics who wonder if it could provide an explanation for the situation in the Church. We both wondered the same thing, about 10 years ago, although neither of us ever embraced the position, either secretly or publicly. We each spent the past 10 years studying Sedevacantism independently, and both found it entirely lacking in sound, theological scholarship. Some of the arguments presented in defense of Sedevacantism seem credible on the surface, but as you begin to dig just below the surface, many errors and contradictions are discovered. It is these errors and contradictions that ultimately result in all of the division and infighting within the movement. The purpose of the book is to demonstrate that the Sedevacantist thesis is untenable (and, in fact, leads straight to heresy) and also to refute each and every argument presented in defense of the position. 2) Do you see an uptick in the temptation to Sedevacantism under Pope Francis? How do you think the faithful should react? Salza/Siscoe: No doubt the temptation to Sedevacantism has increased since the election of Pope Francis, and this is not at all surprising. -

Jews and Judaism in the Political Theology of Radical Catholic Traditionalists
Jews and Judaism in the Political Theology of Radical Catholic Traditionalists Mark Weitzman ABSTRACT The controversies over Holocaust-denying Bishop Richard Williamson, and earlier over Mel Gibson’s film, The Passion of the Christ, have given prominence to radical Catholic traditionalists and their growing influence. The recent pontificate of Pope Benedict XVI saw a great investment of political capital seeking reconciliation with the Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX), yet this effort failed, in great part due to the antisemitism that permeates the Society. Williamson and the Holocaust deniers are often represented as isolated individual representatives of the radical traditionalists, especially after Williamson’s expulsion from the SSPX. In reality it can be argued that the radical traditionalist movement is based upon classical supercessionist theology and that there has often been an effort to cloak this theology from public view. I will trace its roots from Europe to the United States, focusing on Father Charles Coughlin, the “radio priest” whose audience stretched into the millions before World War II; and the Irish priest, Denis Fahey, the theologian most quoted by Coughlin, whose influence continues to be strong in those circles today. I will also survey connections with far right extremists and neo-Nazis and demonstrate the shared Holocaust denial and classical theological antisemitism that link these groups and threatens to negate the gains made since Vatican II that have nurtured the Jewish-Catholic relationship over the past 45 years. Finally, we will assess some of the possible implications of this trend for the future of Jewish-Catholic relations, particularly after the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI and the election of Pope Francis. -
Pope Relaxes Restrictions on Use of Tridentine Mass
Pope relaxes restrictions on use of Tridentine Mass UPDATED VATICAN CITY – In a long-awaited overture to disaffected Catholic traditionalists, Pope Benedict XVI relaxed restrictions on the use of the Tridentine Mass, the Latin- language liturgy that predates the Second Vatican Council. The pope said Mass celebrated according to the 1962 Roman Missal, commonly known as the Tridentine rite, should be made available in every parish where groups of the faithful desire it. He said that while the new Roman Missal, introduced in 1970, remains the ordinary way of Catholic worship, the 1962 missal should be considered “the extraordinary expression of the same law of prayer.” “They are, in fact, two usages of the one Roman rite,” he said. The pope’s directive came July 7 in a four-page apostolic letter titled “Summorum Pontificum.” The new norms will take effect Sept. 14, the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. An accompanying explanatory letter from the pontiff to the world’s bishops dismissed fears that the decree would foment divisions in the church or be seen as a retreat from Vatican II. The pope said the new Mass rite undoubtedly would remain the church’s predominant form of worship. Use of the old missal presupposes a certain degree of liturgical formation and some knowledge of the Latin language, and “neither of these is found very often,” he said. But the pope expressed sympathy with Catholics who are attached to the Tridentine rite and uncomfortable with the new Mass. In the post-Vatican II period, he said, excessive liturgical creativity often led to “deformations of the liturgy which were hard to bear.” “I am speaking from experience, since I, too, lived through that period with all its hopes and confusion.
