Un festival itinerante.

Il Lake Como Film Festival giunge alla sua quinta edizione suggellando un quinquennio di grande vitalità. Unire il fascino paesaggistico alla bellezza estetica e stilistica dell’arte cinematografica, in una cornice unica come quella de Lago di Como, è stata un’idea che ha raccolto il consenso di importanti nomi del cinema internazionale, personaggi e istituzioni che hanno colto l’originale connubio qui proposto, quello del cinema che narra il paesaggio e lo fa secondo le differenti suggestioni del territorio, naturali e culturali. Un festival giovane è per definizione una realtà in continuo divenire e al quinto anno abbiamo voluto rinnovarne la forma, seguendo la sua vocazione itinerante, alla scoperta di nuovi luoghi: una città paesaggio, vestita di cinema. Da qui la nuova articolazione su diversi poli geografici, tematici, estetici, cercando in ogni luogo una specifica caratterizzazione, seguendo le trame di un racconto variopinto: tutte tessere tese a comporre un disegno che racchiude il fascino dell’arte visiva e della narrazione per immagini con il fascino dei luoghi. Al quinto anno, il festival è un seme maturo, forte del carattere coltivato in questi anni, da misurarsi non tanto sulla dimensione locale, ma soprattutto sulla sua qualità internazionale, di cui i contenuti e la linea di ricerca sono il segno evidente.

An itinerant festival.

This is now the fifth Lake Como Film Festival, and they have been five-years of great vitality. The Festival brings together the charm of the landscape and the aesthetic and stylistc beauty of the art of cinematography, in what is the wonderful setting Lake Como. The choice of place has received the consensus of big names in the world of international cinema, celebrities and institutions, all convinced by this marriage of cinematic narrative and the landscape, while drawing on a wealth of natural and cultural environments. As a young festival, it is one in a state of continuous evolution. In this fifth year we have renewed the format and, in keeping with its itinerant vocation, new locations have been found in a city landcape that is for the event draped in the fabric of the world of cinema. There are new geographic hubs, and new themes and aesthetics, as the Festival seeks out the special spirit of each place, following the muticoloured story of a visual arts tapestry with its story board of images that identify what is so special in each of the chosen places. In its fifth year the festival is also now becoming a mature fruit, displaying all the character patiently cultivated over these years, not just locally but also internationally, with its content and investigations bearing the clear hallmarks of distant influences.
