Cuckoo Clock Triangles Clock • Note: New to the activity this week is the use of two instruments. Pictures Rhythm • Present a picture of a cuckoo clock. Explain that we will use our rhythm Sticks sticks to make the ticking sounds, and when the bird flies away we will play our triangles. • Instruct the students to use their rhythm sticks to play the beat. Encourage them to think of different ways to play. Preparation for next week Flowers: • Cut out and laminate flowers (Daisy, Tulip, Orchid, Rose, Carnation, Daffodil) and put felt tape or Velcro on the back before class. Shaker Eggs: • Make your own shaker eggs out of plastic Easter eggs that open. Put items such as pennies, rice, beans, beads, cotton balls, toothpicks, etc. inside the eggs. Do not mix items, so that matching the sounds will be obvious to the children. • Seal each egg shut with colored masking or electrical tape.
