Preparation for next week Flowers: • Cut out and laminate flowers (Daisy, Tulip, Orchid, Rose, Carnation, Daffodil) and put felt tape or Velcro on the back before class. Shaker Eggs: • Make your own shaker eggs out of plastic Easter eggs that open. Put items such as pennies, rice, beans, beads, cotton balls, toothpicks, etc. inside the eggs. Do not mix items, so that matching the sounds will be obvious to the children. • Seal each egg shut with colored masking or electrical tape. (Make sure all eggs are taped closed or the children will open them up.) • Set aside a few eggs that are not taped. Then in class you can open those ones to show what item makes each sound.

Beehive/ Beehive/One Little Bumblebee—Finger Rhyme: One Little • Ask the children to make a fist with one hand and wrap the other hand around the fist. The adult wraps their hands around their child’s hands. Bumblebee [Track] (New) • Bounce the hive-shaped hands to the beat until it’s time to count the bees while saying: • “Here is a beehive, where are the bees? Hidden away where no one can see. Watch those bees come out of their hive.” • Start with the thumb, index finger, and so on, as you count one through five. • “One, two, three, four, five!
