Technology Enhancement and Assessment Processes Institutions and their constituent department can not translate their vision into action without the right leadership. JSMU has been blessed with the right leadership at all levels, to put her and keep her on that pathway.

In the year 2018, a large proportion of activity at Q-Bank was manual and recoding was paper based. We were printing up to 7,000 pieces of paper every month. Switching over to digital solutions has saved us substantially on natural resources as well as manpower. The efficiency has also increased substantially.

Since July 2019, all the theory question papers’ selection is digital, hence no human involvement is the key to unbiased question selection.

Since Sep 2019, all the OSPE/OSCE items are also processed on an indigenously developed software application, reducing probability of human error and improving the quality of examination papers processing. This has also helped us standardize the examinations’ formatting and hence improve the quality of conduct of OSPE/OSCE examinations too.

JSMU is already the largest Medical University in Sindh and second largest in Pakistan. The year 2020 is planned to be year of total digital shift. Subsequently, the Q-Bank could In’Sha’Allah stand out as a paper- less Q-Bank. It may be the first to do so in its contemporaries in this region and almost certainly so in the public sector.

Review Retreats The Q-Bank conducts question review retreats from time to time. These retreats are used to review the question items by the content experts. Those conducted during the year 2019 rendered more than 4,000 reviewed MCQs and 1000 OSPEs/OSCEs.

Honors and Appreciation In a testimony to the good work done by the Q-Bank team, the honorable Vice Chancellor of JSMU, Prof. Tariq Rafi furnished certificates of appreciation and shields to the members of Q-Bank in a ceremony held recently.
