These apartments are all available to foreigners and carry no rental obligation, which is rare in the Swiss Alps. Each apartment will have garage parking in the basement floor as well as private ski lockers, caves and access to the shared sauna/wellness area. Veysonnaz: Veysonnaz is a small, traditional village perched on the mountainside at 1400m above the city of Sion in the Canton Valais. One of the key characteristics of the village are the unobstructed views across the Rhône Valley, which can be enjoyed all across the village. Veysonnaz is a resort that is family-oriented, with an ample range of cafes, bars and restaurants. It also offers great access to the slopes, good views and has a quietly traditional vibe. Think less dancing on tables with a stein and more fine wine on the balcony of your apartment. If you want a night out though, you have plenty of options in Sion or Nendaz. La précieuse carte de Gabriel Walser, de 1768, indique en effet qu'il y avait là autrefois des Véragres. (Hic olim Veragri). Nendaz était essentiellement une terre de forêts qui fut, peu à peu et péniblement rendue à la culture, de vastes forêts à peu près vierges encore au VIe siècle, dans lesquelles gîtaient cerfs, chevreuils, ours, san­ gliers, tout le gibier à plume et à poil de l'époque. La colonisation dut se faire avec peine. Encore au XVIe siècle, dans la carte des sept dizains, d'après la Cosmo­ graphie de Sébastien Müller, alors qu'on y relève un grand nombre de localités du Valais, toute la région de Nendaz n'y est représentée que par un groupe de sapins, sans plus.
