Level 2 Mu’Āsharāt & Mu’Āmalāt Memorising & Understanding Short 3 - Surahs – Quran Lesson Only 4 My Prophet’S Prayers Level 4 – Islamic Studies & Duas 1. Kitabs: Name of Book Subject Safar Year 3 Islamic Studies – Aqāid, Fiqh, Sīrah & 1 Workbook and Textbook Tahdhīb 2 Ilm 2 Amal – Level 2 Mu’āsharāt & Mu’āmalāt Memorising & Understanding Short 3 - Surahs – Quran lesson only 4 My Prophet’s Prayers - Safar – Islamic Studies: 1. Refer to the “Notes on Islamic Studies” section of the syllabus. 2. The guidance mentioned is important and teachers are to implement these guidelines when covering this Kitab. 3. This book will be covered for 3 days a week. 4. Refer to the schemes of work for the Safar book. This must be incorporated into the teaching in a selective manner, where the teacher does not fall behind in the syllabus as per the guidance given in the LTP. Please see the deputy-head regarding this if unsure. 5. Exercises & Homework: ▪ Teachers are to cover both the “Standard” and “advanced” exercises from the workbook. ▪ If there is a lack of time in class to complete exercises, one exercise per week should be given as homework over the weekend. Refer to the “Notes on Islamic Studies” section of the syllabus for guidance on marking. Syllabus & L.T.P. – Madrasah Year: 2018-19 Ilm 2 Amal: 1. The class teacher will need to familiarise him/herself with the content that has to be covered. 2. There are two books to cover; Book 1 and Book 2. 3. The lessons must be covered in an interactive manner where the teacher gives a verbal overview of the lesson objectives first. 4. The aim of the curriculum is to provide a platform for enrichment and learning via a more discussion-based approach. 5. Thus, teachers are not to adopt an “information learning” approach similar to that of other Islamic Studies curricula like Safar etc, as this defeats the objective of Ilm 2 Amal. 6. There will not be an exam for these modules at mid and end of year. 7. There may also be a training event organised by Ilm 2 Amal in September 2018 for course tutors. 8. If unsure on any matters, please see the Deputy-Head. Refer to the L.T.P. for the teaching order of Kitabs. Ilm 2 Amal – Enrichment Activity: ✓ This is the section of the syllabus where pupils will practically implement some of the lessons from the Ilm 2 Amal or Safar syllabus. ✓ The objective is to promote “Ilm2Amal”, where knowledge becomes a practical reality. ✓ One of the key elements of the Ilm 2 Amal syllabus is to organise and run practical lessons and enrichment activities. ✓ These practicals enrich the syllabus and also make the learning experience more enjoyable for children. ✓ They are also a great opportunity to portray the true teachings of Islam and to make Da’wah. Thus, teachers need to take these seriously. The teacher will need to ponder and decide on at least one practical lesson for enrichment week. Please see the Deputy-head if unsure. Syllabus & L.T.P. – Madrasah Year: 2018-19 2. Practical Salaah: 1. One of the key objectives of Level 4 is to build upon the aspects of Salaah that were covered in Levels 2 & 3. Hence, as revision, the class must first revise how to perform the Fardh Rakaats of all five prayers individually. 2. The target for Level 4 is as follows: a) To learn how to perform the Fardh Rak’aat of all five prayers behind the Imam, including the differing roles of the Imam and congregation. b) Pupils must clearly understand when to recite and when to remain silent behind the Imam. c) Girls also need to understand the importance of learning this, as it is required when performing behind the Imam on occasions such as Hajj and Umrah. d) The correct method and importance of standing in a straight row in the Saff (row) of Salaah. My Salah Diary: 1. From this year, all children in Level 4 and above will be given a Salah diary. 2. The Salah diary will operate a points score system depending on whether a child performs Salah or not etc. 3. The aim of this is to motivate the children to perform Salah. 4. Although parents will administer the diary from home, teachers are expected to motivate their pupils to take this initiative seriously. A reminder can be given to pupils every few weeks, with the teacher checking this diary every so often and giving a prize to those pupils who are performing their Salah. 5. More details are available in the actual My Salah Diary”. Please refer to the diary for this. Syllabus & L.T.P. – Madrasah Year: 2018-19 3. Duas: First revise the Duas from Reception to Level 3 as per the LTP. The following new Duas need to be covered in Level 3: Name of Dua 1 Adhan 2 Reply to Adhan 3 Iqamah 4 After Adhan 5 Qunut of Witr 6 Entering the Masjid 7 Leaving the Masjid 8 At the Time of Breaking One’s Fast 9 When Looking in the Mirror Notes: Refer to the “Notes on Duas” section at the front of “My Prophet’s Prayers”. The guidance mentioned is important and teachers are to implement these guidelines. Syllabus & L.T.P. – Madrasah Year: 2018-19 Week Dates for L.T.P.

  • Qunut of Ramadaan 1442H Version
Qunut of Ramadaan Abu Abu Hurayrah Night of 15th of Ramadaan, 1441H Revised 14th of Ramadaan, 1442H When we investigate the sunnah, we find there are three types of Qunut when we are referring to Qunut as supplication a) Qunut of Witr (outside Ramadaan) b) Qunut of Nazilah (during certain important events) c) Qunut of Witr (during Ramadaan) We will discuss only the Qunut of Witr (during Ramadaan). Qunut of Witr (during Ramadaan) is recited in the last rakah of witr after the Ruku’ and it is done on and after the 15th of Ramadaan. First of all, it is important to know that there is no authentic report regarding the Qunut of witr in Ramadaan from the Prophet (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). However, there is an authentic report in Saheeh Ibn Khuzaymah narrated by ‘Abdur Rahman Ibn ‘Abdin Al-Qari. A part of this report is in Saheeh Al-Bukhari. But the part describing the supplication of Qunut in Witr is not in Bukhari. The report of Ibn Khuzaymah has been authenticated by the great scholar of Hadith, Sheikh Mohammad Nasiruddin Al-Albaani (Rohmatullaahi ‘alayhi). This report details some information about the Qunut done during the time of Umar Ibn Al-Khattab when he appointed Ubay Ibn Ka’aab to lead the people in taraweeh prayer done in congregation. The narrator said: “They (i.e the sahabah and the tabee’ee) used to curse the disbelievers in the middle of of Ramadaan. saying : َوﻛﺎﻧوا َﯾﻠﻌﻧ َون اﻟﻛﻔ َرة ﻓﻲ اﻟ ﱢﻧﺻ ِف : اﻟﻠﱠﮭ ﱠم ﻗﺎ ِﺗل اﻟﻛ َﻔ َرة اﻟﱠذﯾ َن ﯾﺻ ﱡد َون ﻋن ﺳﺑﯾﻠِ َك ، و ُﯾ َﻛ ﱢذﺑ َون ر ُﺳ َﻠ َك ، وﻻ ﯾؤ ِﻣﻧ َون ﺑوﻋ ِد َك ، وﺧﺎﻟِف ﺑﯾ َن ﻛﻠﻣ ِﺗ ِﮭم ، وأﻟ ِق ﻓﻲ ﻗﻠو ِﺑ ِﮭ ُم اﻟ ﱡرﻋ َب ، وأﻟ ِق ﻋﻠﯾﮭم ِرﺟ َز َك وﻋذا َﺑ َك ، إ َﻟ َﮫ اﻟﺣ ﱢق ، ﺛ ﱠم ﯾﺻﻠﱢﻲ ﻋ َﻠﻰ اﻟ ﱠﻧﺑ ﱢﻲ ﺻﻠﱠﻰ ﱠﷲُ ﻋ َﻠﯾ ِﮫ وﺳﻠﱠ َم و َﯾدﻋو ﻟﻠﻣﺳﻠﻣﯾ َن ﺑﻣﺎ اﺳﺗطﺎ َع ﻣن َﺧﯾ ٍر ﺛ ﱠم ﯾﺳﺗﻐﻔ ُر ﻟﻠﻣؤﻣﻧﯾ َن ، ﻗﺎل : َوﻛﺎ َن ﯾﻘ ُول إذا ﻓ َرغ ﻣن َﻟﻌﻧ ِﺔ اﻟﻛﻔ ِرة وﺻﻼ ِﺗ ِﮫ ﻋ َﻠﻰ اﻟ ﱠﻧﺑ ﱢﻲ ، واﺳﺗﻐﻔﺎ ِر ِه ﻟﻠﻣؤﻣﻧﯾ َن واﻟ ُﻣ ْؤ ِﻣﻧﺎ ِت وﻣﺳﺄﻟ ِﺗ ِﮫ : اﻟﻠﱠﮭ ﱠم إ ﱠﯾﺎ َك ﻧﻌ ُﺑ ُد ، و َﻟ َك ﻧﺻﻠﱢﻲ وﻧﺳ ُﺟ ُد وإﻟﯾ َك ﻧﺳﻌﻰ وﻧﺣ ِﻔ ُد ، وﻧرﺟو رﺣﻣ َﺗ َك .

This ideology is presumably from some acts of worship suh as not reading Qunut during Shubuh prayer and doing eigtht-rak’ah tarawih prayer. Furthermore, Wahabi is also pinned on to someone who does not participate in celebrating Prophet Muhammad birthday (Maulid Nabi). This tradition is celebrated in 4 months consecutively in the form of kenduri (thanksgiving by bringing rice and some dishes to the mosque). Someone is appointed when she/he meets the requirements in which explained by the teacher in Pengajian. The problem lies when santri spontaneously labels everyone who does not follow rules of Ahlul Sunnah Wal Jamaah as Wahabi, including Muhammadiyah.

For example: Bismillā-hirraḥmā-nir-ra-ḥīm, so that it will not be mistakenly read as: Bismillah irrahman irrahim. 1.2 It indicates words that must be read continuously and there should not be a pause in between the words in this sentence. For example: Ihdinaṣ-ṣira-thal-mus-taqīm. 1.3 Dashes above the vowels a, i and u (ā/ī/ū) indicates “long” vowels, meaning it is to be read up to 2 counts or 2 seconds long as how we read the Basmala: Bismillā-hirraḥmā-nir-raḥīm. 3 Who is this guide for? This guide is for beginners who are not yet able to read Arabic and have just started praying. To make it easier for beginners, we have separated all the recitations - before, during and after the tarawih - which are non-obligatory, so the focus will be on what is obligatory. Users can go straight to the pages with the green book mark. We have prepared this guide with the intention of getting a portion of the reward from Allah, and we intend to ease tarawih prayers for our brothers and sisters who are still beginners, to make sure they do not miss out on the “special offers” of Ramadhan.
