In the city, most of stops have maps Bike station from where you can also see the possible public transportation options.

CITY BIKES In addition, if you have time for Helsinki sightseeing, it’s worth checking out the city bike option (https://www.hsl.fi/en/citybikes). There is a city bike station on the way out to Hernesaarenranta, you have to leave the bike about 300m away and walk the rest of the way.

TAXI RACE AREA For taxis it is always a flat rate and a good way to order them is by an app: http://valopilkkutaksi.fi/briefly-in-english/ RACE AREA

The sailing venue will be close to the shore of southern Helsinki, near Eira and (Ärtholmen) areas. The waters have been found good for regattas and it is no wonder that the City of Helsinki is planning a harbour and sailing centre in the tip of Hernesaari. The former industrial site of Hernesaari is transforming to a residential area and thanks to the great sea views and new enterprises like Hernesaaren ranta restaurant complex and Löyly public sauna, Hernesaari has quickly become a popular place to go out with friends. The race office for WMRCM 17 is at Hernesaaren Ranta (http://www.hernesaarenranta.fi/). Also all events related to the Championship will be held here (exept the Sailors Dinner).

Facilities at the Race Area • There will be a changing room by the Race office and possibilities to leave stuff • There are showers at the Hernesaaren Ranta area that we can use • Hernesaaren Ranta offers a lot of different small restaurant where food can be bought (open at 11am) • At the Race office will be a small café with coffee and some snacks SOCIAL PROGRAM

The Daily briefing will be held every day at 9am at Hernesaaren Ranta. After every sailing day, there will be a “Meet the sailors TALKSHOW” – a possibility to wrap up the day, share stories and feelings with the audience. We hope all sailors take part in this. There will also be possibility for an internal debriefing if needed. More detailed schedule will be provided when you arrive but here is an overview of the race week and its’ events:

For all events the dresscode is Casual. OUR TIPS TO HELSINKI
