Nargaroth Black Metal manda Hijos de Puta No Colours Records 2012 Digi-Pack & DVD lim. 1000 Copias / normal CD & DVD lim. 1000 Copias LP lim. A duras penas logre reconocerlo. -

Telling Technology Contesting Narratives of Progress in Modernist Literature: Robert Walser, Paul Scheerbart, and Joseph Roth Vincent Hessling Submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY 2018 © 2018 Vincent Hessling All rights reserved ABSTRACT Telling Technology Contesting Narratives of Progress in Modernist Literature: Robert Walser, Paul Scheerbart, and Joseph Roth Vincent Hessling Telling technology explores how modernist literature makes sense of technological change by means of narration. The dissertation consists of three case studies focusing on narrative texts by Robert Walser, Paul Scheerbart, and Joseph Roth. These authors write at a time when a crisis of ‘progress,’ understood as a basic concept of history, coincides with a crisis of narra- tion in the form of anthropocentric, action-based storytelling. Through close readings of their technographic writing, the case studies investigate how the three authors develop alter- native forms of narration so as to tackle the questions posed by the sweeping technological change in their day. Along with a deeper understanding of the individual literary texts, the dissertation establishes a theoretical framework to discuss questions of modern technology and agency through the lens of narrative theory. McFarland AIR FORCE HISTORY AND MUSEUMS PROGRAM 1998 Conquering the Night Army Air Forces Night Fighters at War The author traces the AAF’s development of aerial night fighting, in- cluding technology, training, and tactical operations in the North African, European, Pacific, and Asian theaters of war. In this effort the United States never wanted for recruits in what was, from start to finish, an all-volunteer night fighting force. Cut short the night; use some of it for the day’s business. — Seneca For combatants, a constant in warfare through the ages has been the sanctuary of night, a refuge from the terror of the day’s armed struggle. On the other hand, darkness has offered protection for operations made too dangerous by daylight. Combat has also extended into the twilight as day has seemed to provide too little time for the destruction demanded in modern mass warfare. In World War II the United States Army Air Forces (AAF) flew night- time missions to counter enemy activities under cover of darkness. Allied air forces had established air superiority over the battlefield and behind their own lines, and so Axis air forces had to exploit the night’s protection for their attacks on Allied installations. -

Killing the Internet to Keep America Alive: The Myths and Realities of the Internet Kill Switch Scott M. Ruggiero* "Congress is debating a kill switch that would allow President Obama to freeze all activity on the Internet if there was a national emergency. The kill switch goes by the top-secret name 'Microsoft Windows."' -Conan 0' Brienl I. INTRODUCTION Does the President have the power to shut down the Internet in America? While much debate has centered on a proposed Senate bill that would have given the President an Internet "kill switch," 2 most Americans would be surprised to discover that the President has had this power for nearly seventy years-decades predating the creation of the Internet. This hot-button issue has resulted in the search of the phrase "Internet kill switch" over 539,000 times on Google.3 This paper will discuss the legality and constitutional implications of the "kill switch." Part I will discuss the history and background of the "kill switch." The first section of Part I discusses the law currently in effect.
