Alone, Omen 3 by RIYL: Cosmo Pyke, Ariel Pink

The chameleonic singer- is gearing up for the February 21st release of his next , Man Alive!, with single "Alone, Omen 3", which displays elements of both the stark, rough-shod post-punk of his first record, 6 Feet Beneath the Moon, and the more eclectic art pop leanings of his second, . But "Alone, Omen 3" also hints at a new, psychedelically inclined direction for Marshall, featuring a more understated vocal performance and a woozy, meditative tone. George Kusunoki Miller began his online career as Filthy Frank (a sketch comedy act), transitioned to Pink Guy (a comedy rapper), and finally realized his full musical form as Joji, the lo-fi artist inspired by and influenced by electronic and R&B music. On “Run,” a haunting, mysterious electric guitar snakes its way through the song supported by heartbreaking lyrics. Imagine you’re driving along a coastal highway, top-down, feeling the wind, letting the song’s words wash over you, and thinking of your last great love...all while wearing a bad-ass, black leather jacket. Shangri-La by EOB RIYL: , The Postal Service

Shangri-la is one of three singles released ahead of Radiohead frontman Edward O'Brien’s upcoming album, which will be called “Earth”. This is O’Brien’s debut album as a solo artist, marking the end of (or at least a break from) his 20+ years with Radiohead. Fans of Radiohead will recognize O’Brien’s trademark vocals and guitar in this new track. However, this new song has a lighter sound as well as some electronic elements. La Roux consists of singer Eleanor “Elly” Jackson and her business partner, producer Ben Langmaid. The two of them have been making music together since 2006, and they have found tons of success in the meantime with a Grammy award winning album and hits such as “Bulletproof” and “In for the Kill”. Their new album “Supervision” has a new wave sound and has lots of amazing bass lines. Automatic Driver represents the album well with its chill dance vibe. By Erika Fox

British pop duo Oh Wonder consisting of Anthony West and Josephine Vander Gucht found mainstream success with their 2017 album “Ultralife”. Their brand new third studio album, No One Else Can Wear Your Crown, maintains their signature sound. “I Wish I Never Met You”, one of the more upbeat tracks on this new album, is the product of relatable lyrics, a fun beat, and -esque string sounds throughout the chorus. Cut Me by RIYL: Solange, Free Nationals, Jacob Collier

Moses Sumney first found critical success with his debut album, Aromanticism, in 2017. This new track comes from his new “Cut Me” EP, released in anticipation for his sophomore album grae that is set to release in two parts this year. The layered harmonies and stripped down, bass-centric instrumentals allow Sumney to highlight his prowess as a vocalist. In the vein of the new West Coast sound, Sumney blends genres like , soul, and pop the same way this “true immigrant son” blends the cultures of America and Ghana. As one of the few iconic voices to survive the early 2000s renaissance, Hayley Williams has finally made a confident first step into her solo career away from her Grammy-winning band, Paramore. “Cinnamon” is undeniably the highlight of her debut EP, which straddles the line between experimental and completely organic. With clattering instrumentals and animalistic vocal hooks, the song and its accompanying video serve as a sneak peek into some of the weirder corners of Williams’ mind. Though her voice is now near and dear to so many who were rebellious teens during Paramore’s golden age, this new era proves that the lead singer has even more to offer. By Patrick Toohey

In this song, Carly Rae pokes fun at the concept of staying friends with an ex after a messy break up. This breakup anthem comes just in time for anyone who’s celebrating Valentine’s day newly single. This sassy song combines sarcastic lyrics, upbeat guitar, and a synth bassline reminiscent of 1980s pop. By Meg Imperato
