Varios países de América estuvieron presentes, incluyendo a las selecciones de Estados Unidos y México, quienes lograron las ansiadas plazas por equipos en la capital francesa. En este boletín encontrarán la lista completa de nuestros participantes en Tokio, a quienes deseamos muchos éxitos. También en junio se abrió nuestra nueva página web, con acceso a las fuentes de información incluidas en nuestra extranet. Los invitamos a todos a visitarla en https://www.worldarcheryamericas.com En julio darán inicio los cursos de formación de instructores para la iniciación en español e inglés. Auguramos un éxito total en estas actividades de capacitación, para las cuales se han inscrito participantes de más de 20 países. Las mujeres de compuesto de Colombia alcanzaron resultados fabulosos, pues dos ellas discutieron el título en la final. Las dos últimas flechas de Alejandra USQUIANO cayeron en el anillo de 9 puntos, provocando que perdiera por un punto el partido frente a su compañera, la super laureada Sara LOPEZ 148 a 149. Sara clasificó por tanto para disparar en la Final de la Copa de Mundo que tendrá lugar en Yankton, USA, al concluir el Campeonato Mundial. Dos arqueros del mismo país compitieron también por el título masculino en arco recurvo. El Campeón Mundial Brady ELLISON reeditó su victoria de la segunda etapa ahora en París, y se llevó la corona 6 a 2 frente a su compatriota Jack WILLIAMS. 4 El oro en recurvo femenino fue al cuello de la india Deepika KUMARI, quien ya había ganado la primera etapa en Guatemala en abril. Venció en la final a la rusa OSIPOVA 6 a 0. Sara Lopez (CW Gold) Great individual results were achieved by the Colombian Compound Women, as two of them battled for the gold medal. Alejandra USQUIANO’s last two arrows landed in the nine-ring after she had shot 13 consecutive tens, causing her to lose by one point versus her more decorated teammate Sara LOPEZ 148-149. Sara therefore qualified to shoot at the World Cup Finals to be held in September in Yankton, USA right after the World Championships. Two archers from the same country contended for the recurve men title too. World Champion Brady ELLISON re-edited his second stage win in Paris and took the crown on a 6-2 count versus teammate Jack WILLIAMS. Brady ELLISON (USA) 6 The Recurve Women gold was claimed by India’s Deepika KUMARI, who had also won the first stage in Guatemala earlier this year. She beat Russia’s Osipova 6-0. The Bronze battle was a lot more exciting as it had to go to a shoot-off in which Mackenzie BROWN (USA) bettered Mexico’s Ana VAZQUEZ 10 to 9. Kris SCHAFF (USA) won another medal for the Americas, with Silver in the compound men final where he was defeated by India’s Abhishek VERMA. Team medals were retrieved by Colombia (compound women Gold and compound mixed Silver); Mexico (recurve women Silver and recurve mixed Bronze); and the United States (compound men Silver). All of them will compete in the individual events. In the men’s team event, the United States will be our only team, while Mexico and the USA will represent us in the women’s team competition. Mixed teams from Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, and the USA will compete in Tokyo as well. These are our archers: Ane Marcelle DOS SANTOS (BRA) Winner of the Continental Qualifier in Monterrey, Mexico. 9th place at the Rio Olympics. Current World Ranking position: 89 Qualification Round Personal Best: 641 8 Marcus D’ALMEIDA (BRA) World Cadet Champion in 2015; Silver medal at the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games. Silver medal at the 2019 Pan American Games. Olympic participant in 2016. Current World Ranking position: 24 Qualification Round Personal Best: 692 Stephanie BARRETT (CAN) Silver Medal in the Continental Qualifier for the Olympics, Monterrey 2021 Current World Ranking position: 64 Qualification Round Personal Best: 652 9 Crispin DUENAS (CAN) 2019 Pan American Games Individual and Team Champion. 2013 World Championship Individual Bronze Medallist. Olympic Participant in 2008, 2012, 2016 Current World Ranking position: 40 Qualification Round Personal Best: 685 Andrés AGUILAR (CHI) Silver medal at the Continental Qualifier for the Olympics in 2021.     Confederación Panamericana de Tiro con Arco Boletín Mensual 61/ 61st Monthly Bulletin Abril-Mayo 2021/April-May 2021 ________________________________ En abril y mayo se celebraron varios eventos importantes, incluyendo dos etapas de la Copa Mundial Hyundai y el clasificatorio para los Juegos Panamericanos Junior. Guatemala realizó una labor fantástica en la organización de la primera parada de la Copa Mundial en abril. Felicitaciones a los organizadores por el arduo trabajo. El Clasificatorio para Cali se llevó a cabo de manera exitosa en Medellín. Dieciocho países estarán representados en los Juegos, ocho de ellos con participación en las cuatro categorías individuales. Inmediatamente después de concluir el clasificatorio, se desarrolló en Medellín un campamento de entrenamiento con arqueros juveniles con vistas a Cali. Estamos satisfechos con la calidad del proceso y con el avance en el rendimiento técnico y la preparación mental alcanzado por muchos de los arqueros bajo la guía de los tres expertos que condujeron las sesiones de entrenamiento. Nuestro más sincero agradecimiento a Pan Am Sports por su aporte decisivo a esta actividad de desarrollo. Guatemala did a fantastic job in organizing the first stage of the World Cup in April. Congratulations to the organizers for their hard work. The Qualifier for Cali was successfully held in Medellin.

Ochenta y cuatro arqueros de diecisiete países dispararon en una magnifica instalación con una impresionante cobertura televisiva. Un Récord Mundial, el único entre todos los deportes en los Juegos, y nuevos récords para los Juegos Panamericanos en todos los eventos, fueron algunos de los resultados más relevantes en el torneo de tiro con arco en la capital peruana, Celebramos una exitosa Asamblea General en el marco de los Juegos, en la que aprobamos nuestro calendario de Eventos de Ranking Mundial para el año 2020, y revisamos los preparativos de los Campeonatos Panamericanos y Parapan Americanos a realizarse en Monterrey, y de la primera parada de la Copa Mundial Hyundai que tendrá lugar en Guatemala. Nuestro Comité Ejecutivo se reunió, además, con funcionarios de ODECABE y de Pan Am Sports para analizar un aumento en los cupos para los Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe Panamá 2022, así como la posibilidad de llevar a cabo campamentos de entrenamiento para nuestros arqueros en el año 2020. Aprovecho la oportunidad para felicitar a todos los participantes en Lima, tanto a aquellos que ganaron medallas y cupos olímpicos, como a los que no lo lograron. Quiero decir “Felicitaciones”, además, a nuestros cadetes y juveniles que compitieron en al Campeonato Mundial de estas categorías en Madrid, y obtuvieron medallas, establecieron récords y se colocaron en destacadas posiciones. Nos queda en evento más de Ranking Mundial en América en al año 2019.

    Confederación Panamericana de Tiro con Arco Boletín Mensual 63/ 63rd Monthly Bulletin Julio 2021/ July 2021 ________________________________ Las competencias de tiro con arco de los Juegos Olímpicos de Tokio se realizaron finalmente luego de un año de espera. ¡Qué fabulosa demostración de coraje, disciplina y compromiso la de los 128 deportistas olímpicos y sus entrenadores! Hubo un poco de todo: excelentes puntajes en la clasificación, partidos no aptos para cardiacos, el debut exitoso del evento de equipos mixtos, victorias de los favoritos, las sorpresivas eliminaciones de los mejores ranqueados, viento, lluvia, jóvenes arqueros subiendo a lo más alto del podio, y veteranos ganando medallas. Así es el tiro con arco, y esta es la razón por la cual nuestra presencia en el programa olímpico está muy lejos de ser amenazada. Estamos orgullosos de nuestros diecinueve deportistas: de los que ganaron medallas, de los que ganaron partidos, y de los que no pudieron lograrlo. World Archery Americas felicita a los organizadores japoneses, los voluntarios, a World Archery, a los delegados técnicos y a los oficiales técnicos internacionales por contribuir al éxito total del tiro con arco en los Juegos. Agosto nos presenta nuevos retos. Diez países representarán a América en el Campeonato Mundial de la Juventud en Polonia, solo unos días antes del inicio de los Juegos Paralímpicos – un evento en el estarán siete de nuestros países: Brasil, Canadá, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, México y los Estados Unidos.
