September 2021 Lancing College Prep at Worthing School Introduction

Lancing College has its own uniform shop on the College campus, where all items of Lancing Prep Worthing uniform can be bought. In normal times, all parents would be able to make an appointment to visit the shop to make their purchases. However due to the current Government Covid-19 guidelines, the shop needs to operate in a slightly different way.

• These guidelines will apply to new and existing pupils.

• All parents and guardians are encouraged to order online and arrange a suitable time for collection over the course of the summer holidays.

• There will be some fitting appointments, but are limited one parent and one child per appointment (plus extra siblings purchasing uniform)

• The online school shop can be accessed from the link below. Orders placed can be collected from the School Shop, by a pre-arranged appointment only Parents are asked to help the shop by aiming to place orders throughout the summer holidays. All Prep uniform orders must be made by 20 August 2021, orders made after this date will be delivered to the Prep School at the beginning of term.

At Lancing College Prep at Worthing, we believe pupils should maintain a smart appearance at all times. To this end we would ask you to read and adhere closely to the list that is contained within this booklet. The uniform is designed to be tidy but practical and it is appropriate to the age of your child.

• Items of clothing marked with a # symbol are only available from the School Shop. All other items on the list except can also be purchased at the shop for a reasonable cost. • All hair must be clean and well groomed. Overtly fashionable hairstyles (including excessively short hair) are not permitted. Please note that children with short hair should not have cuts shorter than a grade 3 and hair sculpture is not permitted. Children with hair below their collar should wear it tied up with white, navy or brown or ribbons. At LPW we have adopted The Halo Code which means we champion the right of staff and students to embrace all Afro hairstyles. • and other should NOT be worn to school, apart from one pair of small, discreet ear studs (not hoops, dangling earrings or brightly coloured studs). Nail varnish and make up are not permitted. • Please ensure that ALL clothes are clearly marked with your child’s name (including footwear) and looped to facilitate hanging. Name tapes, and labels are available from the School Shop. • The Uniform Shop is located at Lancing College and is open during term-time and the Summer holiday. All purchased items can be sent internally to the prep school for collection. Parents can send items back via the school minibus or take them back to the shop.
