Los amo con toda mi alma. 6 RESUMEN El objetivo principal de este trabajo de investigación es de analizar las percepciones de la experiencia de integración al país receptor, desde la perspectiva de los migrantes mismos, enfocándose en los proyectos migratorios, compuestos por expectativas, planes y experiencia, y estrategias de integración, la formas de realizar y poner en práctica el plan que movió la decisión de emigrar. ¿Cómo se traduce el proyecto migratorio en estrategia(s) de integración al momento de vivir de forma concreta lo que había sido una expectativa? Se quiere centrar la atención en conocer de qué manera la experiencia migratoria transforma los planes de las personas, la forma en que esta transformación es narrada, los obstáculos y recursos encontrados y de qué manera han sido manejados, las emociones conectadas a la experiencia, la satisfacción o frustración que produce la realización o el abandono de un proyecto, y los eventuales ajustes de objetivos y planes a lo largo de la estancia en el extranjero. Para analizar estos ejes centrales, se parte de la experiencia específica de los migrantes de Bangladesh, que desde su lugar de origen, se mueven hacia dos contextos clave en sus trayectorias migratorias europeas: en Roma, Italia, y en Londres, en el Reino Unido. Se utiliza un enfoque narrativo. ABSTRACT The main aim of this research is to analyse the perceptions of the migrants’ integration in the receiving country, from the perspective of the migrants themselves. It focuses on migration plan, composed of expectations, projects and experience, and integration strategies, the ways to carry out and put into practice the plan that motivated the decision to emigrate in the first place. How is the migratory plan transformed into concrete integration strategies, which had been before just an expectation? The main focus lies on understanding how the migratory experience transforms people's plans, the way in which this transformation is narrated, the obstacles and resources that migrants found along the way and how they have been managed, the emotions connected to the experience, the satisfaction or frustration caused by the 7 realization or abandonment of a project, and the possible adjustments of aims and plans throughout the stay in the host country. These core ideas will be explored by analysing the specific experience of Bangladeshi migrants who, from their place of origin, move towards two key contexts in their European migration trajectories: in Rome, Italy, and in London, in the United Kingdom. A narrative approach is adopted. This was an incredibly difficult made after discussions with the organisers and local Thames Valley Police, following the receipt of a number of threatening phone calls, emails and social media posts to the Resort over the last couple of weeks.     The Bengal-Bangladesh Borderland: Chronicles from Nadia, Murshidabad and Malda 1 Paula Banerjee Introduction Borderland studies, particularly in the context of South Asia are a fairly recent phenomenon. I can think of three works that have made borderlands, particularly the Bengal-Bangladesh borderland as the focal area of their study in the last one decade. Ranabir Samaddar’s The Marginal Nation: Transborder Migration From Bangladesh to West Bengal started a trend that was continued by Willem Van Schendel in his The Bengal Borderland: Beyond State and Nation in South Asia . Both these books argue that the border is part of larger zone or the borderland that at once constructs and subverts the nation. Samaddar goes beyond the security and immutable border discourse and problematises the borderland by speaking of flows across the border. He argues that such flows are prompted by historical and social affinities, geographical contiguity and economic imperative. People move when their survival is threatened and rigid borders mean little to the desperate. They question the nation form that challenges their existence. If need be they find illegal ways to tackle any obstacle that stand in their path of moving particularly when that makes the difference between life and death. Thereby Samaddar questions ideas of nation state and national security in present day South Asia when and if it privileges land over the people who inhabit that land. Van Schendel also takes the argument along similar lines by stating that without understanding the borderland it is impossible to understand the nation form that develops in South Asia, the economy that emerges or the ways in which national identities are internalized.

Riva Gangully Das for taking over as the new High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh. She is well aware of socio-political and economic realities of Bangladesh as she was in this country during her earlier stint as the head of cultural wing of the High Commission a decade ago. IBCCI wishes her all the success in taking the Indo-Bangla relations to greater heights during her incumbency. We are confident that Her Excellency will leave no stone unturned in her endeavor in this regard. We are pretty sure that she will succeed in her efforts. It is needless to say that relations between India and Bangladesh the two friendly South Asian neighbors are currently at its pick because of bold and pragmatic leaderships of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Last several years have seen significant growth in the volume of Indo-Bangla trade. Furthermore, Abdul Matlub Ahmad Indian investors have come forward with significant investments in Bangladesh. Improvement of connectivity between the two countries, improved infrastructural facilities coupled with fiscal and other related incentives offered by the government of Bangladesh made it happen. Very recently, the first bonded, cross-border, land-air transshipment cargo from Bangladesh flew out of the Indian airport of Kolkata after Expo Freight Ltd. (EFL) introduced a tailor- made logistics solution to handle such cargo transshipments between the two neighbouring countries.

All participants were also given information on how to access this content on the internet via the Humans of Europe - Europe for Humans Facebook page. Foreword Humans of Europe – Europe for Humans was a UK-wide campaign launched by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in 2017 and 2018. When this project was conceived, the aim was to highlight some of the thoughts and feelings of everyday citizens on Europe. But how could these thoughts be conveyed in an intuitive and powerful way? We decided to take to the streets and have an open discourse with people from all over the UK - mostly from Brighton, Bristol, Glasgow and London - from all walks of life and share the results through social media. By combining portrait photography and conversation extracts, the public were invited to share in the personal narratives of those people on any aspect of Europe. Combining these media allowed us to establish a connection with people we might usually never have crossed paths with and gain impressions of our commonalities, as well as disparities of thought with regards to Europe.
