X - PLORE EXPEDICIONES X - PLORE GROUP COLOMBIA: EL SECRETO MEJOR GUARDADO INTRODUCCIÓN Colombia es el cuarto país más grande de América del Sur y el tercer país con mayores recursos hídricos del mundo. Aunque sólo representa un 0.7% de la superficie terrestre, cerca del 14% de la flora y fauna del planeta y el 7 % de la selva amazónica se encuentr an en territorio colombiano. En Colombia hay 1.860 variedades de aves registradas que representan el 19% de todas las especies del mundo y 60% de las existentes en Sudamérica. Además ocupa el segundo lugar entre los países que exhiben la mayor diversidad de mariposas del mundo (3.000 familias y 14 especies). Y por si esto fuera poco , tiene la particularidad de estar bañada por los océanos Atlántico y Pacífico y atravesada por la espec tacular cordillera de los Andes . En 2006 la prestigiosa Lonely Planet escogió Colombia como uno de los destinos top 10 mundiales. En febrero de 2010, Colombia fue reconocida como «el mejor destino» del mundo en la feria turística más prestigiosa de Europa - «Times Destinations Travel Show» de Londres. Según el New York Times, Colombia quedó clasificada en segundo lugar después de Estambul, y entre 1.700 destinos turísticos, en la lista de los sitios más interesantes para visitar en el 2011. Y a pesar de el lo, Colombia sigue siendo un destino poco turístico (exceptuando las áreas del Caribe y del Eje Cafetero), emergente, desconocido y muy atractivo, con una gran diversidad multicultural y étnica (tiene 84 etnias indígenas), una naturaleza salvaje y abrumado ra, ciudades coloniales ancladas en el pasado y yacimientos arqueológicos precolombinos que son Patrimonio de la Humanidad por UNESCO. Y aunque El Dorado nunca llegó a encontrarse, muchos creen que este gran tesoro precolombino se encuentra en realidad en el propio país y en sus encantadoras y hospitalarias gentes. ¡Bienvenidos a Colombia! PROGRAMA La ruta que ofrecemos en este programa se sale de los circuitos turísticos convencionales (excepto en algunos casos puntuales ) y permite conocer en profundidad este país de contrastes de colores en el que podremos contemplar : una amplia variedad de paisajes, como el desierto de Tatacoa o el Parque Nacional de los Nevados; conocer etnias como los Misak o los P aeces, visitar restos de antiguas civili zaciones precolombinas como San Agustín y Tierradentro y ciudades coloniales, como Villa de Leyva y Barichara, consideradas dos de las ciudades más bonitas de América. Y todo ello sin olvidar el famoso «Eje Cafetero» , l a espectacular Catedral de Sal de Zip aquirá o la bulliciosa Bogotá, la tercera capital más elevada del mundo. Igualmente, si se quiere, al final de nuestro programa podemos ofrecer la posibilidad de hacer una extensión a la región del Caribe para visitar la maravillosa ciudad colonial de Cartagena o bañarse en las mejores playas caribeñas que se encuentran en el P arque Nacional de Tayrona. Llegada al aeropuerto El Dorado de Bogotá, rec ibimiento y traslado al Hotel Casa de la Vega o de categoría similar y ubicado en el Centro Histórico de la Candelaria. Noche en el hotel, habitac ión doble en régimen de desayuno. Día 2: Salida del vuelo Bogotá – Pitalito – San Agustín . Después del desayuno realizaremos una breve visita por Bogotá la capital y la ciudad más grande de Colombia (8 millones de habitantes). Es un punto de convergencia de personas de todo el país, es diverso y multicultural y combina construcciones modernas con otras que evocan su pasado colonial. Visitaremos el c entro histórico y el barrio de La Candelaria . A continuación nos trasladaremos al aeropuerto internacional E l Dorado (Bogotá) para tomar un vuelo a Pitalito. Llegada al a eropuerto de Contador y t raslado hasta San Agustín. Tarde libre para visitar esta interesante población rural . Alojamiento en el hotel Yuma o de categoría similar . Noche en el hotel, habitación doble en régimen de desayuno. Día 3: San Agustín - Parqu e A rqueológico San Agustín . Tras el d esayuno empezaremos nuestra v isita por el espectacular Parque A rqueológico S an Agustín, Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en 1995 . Se trata de una de las antiguas necrópolis de mayor extensión mundiales y el más grande complejo de monumentos megalíticos de América . Perteneciente a la cultura San Agustín ( 1000 a. C - 1500 d. C ), es u no de los misterios más grandes de las antiguas civilizaciones precolombinas . Empezaremos la v isita al Parque Arqueológico de Mesitas compuesto por los siguientes lugares: Terraplén, Mesitas A, B, C y D, Fuente Ceremonial del Lavapatas, Alto del Lavapatas, Bosque de las Estatuas y Museo Luis Duque Gómez. Tras el a lmuerzo al mediodía en un restaurante local, continuaremos nuestro recorrid o por los sitios arqueológicos de La Chaquira, El Tablón, La Pelota y el Purutal. Tras una jornada emocionante visitando los restos arqueológicos de esta cultura de los chamanes jaguares, regresaremos a San Agustín. Alojamiento en el hotel Yuma o de catego ría similar . Noche en el hotel, habitación doble en régimen de desayuno. Día 4 : San Agustín – Estrecho de la Magdalena – Parque Arqueológico de Ídolos y Alto de las Piedras – Salto de Bordones – Cascada de Mortiño – San Agustín . Tras el desayuno nos desplazaremos al Estrecho del R í o Magdalena , el más importante de Colombia , que a lo largo de unos 1.500 km recorre el país de sur a norte hasta desembocar en el Mar Caribe . Aquí puede verse en el sur de Huila con una anchura que no supera los 3 m y en un paisaje de gran belleza natural . A continuación visitaremos el Parque Museo Obando, Parque Arqueológico de Ídolos , Alto de Las Piedras, el impresionante Salto de Bordones y la majestuosa Cascada de Mortiño. Tras un a lmuerzo en un restaurante local regresaremos a San Agustín, donde visita remos el interesante Museo Precolombino Villa Real. Alojamiento en el hotel Yuma o de categoría similar . A primera hora de la mañana saldremos hacia la ciu dad de Popayán, vía Isnos y Paletara y desayunaremos por el camino. Cruzando el Parque Nacional Natural Purace pararemos en la población de Coconuco, donde se concentra la mayoría de la comunidad indígena del mismo nombre. L legaremos a Popayán para visitar esta ciudad colonial, capital del departamento de Cauca y conocida también como «la ciudad blanca» y que tras diversos terremotos fue reconstruida en el siglo XVII siguiendo un estilo Neoclásico. Las Procesiones de Semana Santa de Popayán fueron declaradas por la UNESCO en 2009 como Obra Maestra del Patrimonio Oral e Inm aterial de la Humanidad. Iremos a los museos de Historia Natural, Museo Guillermo León Valencia, Museo A rquidiocesano de Arte Religioso. A continuación realizaremos una caminata por el centro histórico, Pa rque Caldas, Morro del Tulcán, Puente del H umill a de ro y Panteón de los P róceres. A continuación a lmorzaremos en un restaurante local donde probaremos la comida caucana, hecha con métodos tradicionales de preparación a través de la tradición oral y que en 2005, UNESCO designó a la ciudad de Popayán como Ciu dad de la Gastronomía por su variedad y significado para el patrimonio intangible de los colombianos. Por la tarde continuaremos nuestro recorrido por el departamento de Cauca, en el que viven 26 grupos indígenas, hasta llegar a Silvia Cauca. Alojamiento en el hotel Casa Turísti ca o de categoría similar . Noche en el hotel, habitación doble en régimen de desayuno. Día 6: Mercado indígena de Silvia Cauca – Pueblito – Pirámide de Inza - Tierradentro . Hoy será un día de inmersión cultural antropológica. Por la mañana visitaremos el mercado campesino y artesanal de Silvia Cauca en el que cada martes se reúnen los indígenas Misak o «Piurek» para vender sus productos locales. A continuación recorreremos la zona de Silvia Cauca, conocida como la Suiza de Colombia, ya que es verde y montañosa. Visitaremos la Casa del Taita Payán de los Guambianos: un espacio ancestral para el aprendizaje y la armonía con los demás. Nos acercaremos a Pueblito, un tradicional asentamiento de los Misak ubicado en un paisaje bucólico y disfrutaremos de la hospitalidad de los aldeanos del valle de Silvia. Almuerzo en restaurante local. Por la tarde nos desplazaremos a Tierradentro por Totoró e Inzá. Aquí haremos un alto para visi tar la misteriosa Pirámide de Inzá, un importante centro religioso prehispánico del que poco se sabe. Tras recorrer los túneles y cavidades interiores excavadas en las rocas de este yacimiento, nos desplazaremos al pequeño pueblo de Tierradentro. Alojamie nto en el Hotel El Refugio o de categoría similar. Noche en el hotel, habitación doble en régimen de desayuno. Día 7: Parque Arqueológico de Tierradentro. Hoy dedicaremos el día completo a visitar la espectacular reserva arqueológica de Tierradentro , declarada en 1995 como Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO y tierra de los indígenas Paeces o Nasa (el grupo indígena más numeroso de Colombia con 120.000 individuos) .
