Some of the places and famous people mentioned in this book are based on recorded historical events that have been forgotten, manipulated and/or hidden from us. Most of our generation has never heard of any of it. Just about every non-Western civilization since the beginning of time has told legends of an ancient race of super-advanced beings that live in an inner-earth city. Some call it Shambula, Others know it as Telos. Many explorers have tried entering this hidden place, but all failed—except for one American pilot, the renowned Admiral Richard E. Byrd. It is believed that in 1947 he wrote a secret diary about his flight to the mystical city of Telos that occurred shortly after the first atomic bombs were dropped over Japan. My personal interest in Telos instantly began after reading his diary where he described his amazing voyage and the urgent message he was asked to deliver to our world leaders—a secret buried from the public until now. Even though I admit his diary is hard to believe, it’s even harder to ignore. You are invited to enter a place where reality and fantasy meet. Your only limitation is denying the known. J Rachel Albert 4 Quest To Telos—Buried Secret Chapter One – Springing into the Future (Spring 2013, five days from now) During all of Larry Mason’s six years in college he had never learned what he desperately needed to know right at this moment—how to bargain with a cunning demon. He was at a particular disadvantage considering just a few days ago he didn’t even believe in such nonsense. Last clear memory Larry had was leaving the inner-earth city of Telos, heading home with his thirteen-year-old son Adam and his business partner Simon. They had been traveling at the speed of light through an inner-space portal when their journey had gotten spontaneously rerouted. Now Larry got sucked down into the dreaded Draconian underworld, the land of demons. His ghoulish nightmare started all over again with this impromptu arrival. A fuzzy déjà resonated within Larry’s brain as his eyes scanned around the dim-lit, large room capped with a cathedral ceiling. Off to one side he spotted a golden altar covered with gray soot, broken twigs and lifeless flowers. 5 Quest To Telos—Buried Secret Several human-size porcelain dolls with ragged black cotton candy hair and charred faces wore horrified expressions. They stood propped up next to the altar as if on guard. Their eerie marble eyes seemed a bit too real as they simultaneously looked up at Larry when he glanced at them. He noticed he could control their eyes like an invisible light switch. Larry’s foggy recollection faded away once he realized that he was standing on the cold stone floor of the hideous Draconian castle’s ballroom, the same place where his life had almost been ruined for eternity. When Larry had been here a mere two days ago, he hadn’t noticed the blood stains scattered all about the floor, or the awful stench of something rotting, mixed under the odor of booze. Or those bizarre dolls that silently seemed to scream for their personal salvation, warning him to leave now. The leaders of the demon city, King Sarus and his sly daughter Lilith, quietly watched Larry and Simon from several feet behind. Lilith had shape shifted her naturally lizard-like and distorted body into a clone of a gorgeous supermodel she had spotted in a Vogue magazine last year: A sassy model with flawless cream white skin framed by black satin straight hair. A blue silky dress wrapped tightly around her Barbie figure, a Ralph Lauren copy. 6 Quest To Telos—Buried Secret Her perfectly manicured eyebrows accentuated her magnificent, light pastel green almond-shaped eyes. King Sarus resembled a frightening, lizard-skinned gorilla that towered several feet over Larry and Simon. His thick, long tail swayed from side to side sweeping the floor, while a golden kingly crown rested slightly off to the side of its awkward- shaped head. Lilith narrowed her focus in on Larry, as she glided towards him. “Nice to see you again—Larry, Darling!” she said with a fake sugary voice, placing emphasis on the name of the man who had brought her disgrace a few days earlier. Larry and Simon jolted as their bodies turned towards theircaptors. Lilith slowly circled around the two men, scoping them out like a lion would its prey, King Sarus following right behind. “I told you we would be soul mates forever! Apparently you didn’t believe me,” Lilith said in a creepy tone. Larry raised his eyebrows so high they formed exclamation points on his forehead. The mention of being a demon’s soul mate forever suddenly clicked as a vivid memory, although Larry couldn’t recall how that unnerving concept could have happened. 7 Quest To Telos—Buried Secret Probably because he had been stoned to oblivion on some mind-mending psychedelic drug that had laced the odd-tasting concoction that Lilith had whipped up for him during their party. Lilith continued in an icy tenor, “You traitor. I can’t believe you escaped like a coward with your son and that pain-in-the- neck friend of his Charlie.” From her expression, it was obvious to Larry that she could hardly wait to hear what pathetic excuse he could muster up. Larry’s mind raced, trying to keep calm while thinking of some reasonable explanation as to why he had left Draconia a few days earlier. Besides that this was the pit of hell and the last place on earth he wanted to be. Larry finally found his voice to speak. “Lilith, truth be told… I really didn’t want to go. You know they forced me to leave with them.” She gave a bored glare back to him. “They kidnapped me. I was really enjoying myself in this… wild place with you,” Larry said attempting to sound sincere and hoping “wild” was quite the right word. “So, you expect me to believe that you didn’t want to leave with them?” Lilith said unconvinced. 8 Quest To Telos—Buried Secret “Why would I want to leave?” Larry replied. “I hadn’t partied like that since college. What the heck was in that drink that you had made for me anyway?” Larry swallowed hard and forced a grin on his otherwise stressed face, as perspiration dripped down his neck from the intense heat. Lilith saw right through his desperate words. She glared at him and crossed her thin, pointy arms. She wore the hurt face of a cheated lover whose heart had turned cold from betrayal. Larry avoided looking into her frightening and intimidating electrifying eyes. He felt terribly worried that she had lost her former attraction towards him by the lack of charm in her voice. Simon cautiously remained silent, listening to Larry attempt to dig himself out of this bottomless hole. Simon hadn’t a clue how they had gotten here, let alone what this overly attractive lady was talking about. But it sure didn’t sound like good news to him. *All Simon knew about Larry’s previous Draconian ordeal was that a few days earlier the two of them had been searching for the hidden city of Telos in the inner earth. Their apparently 9 Quest To Telos—Buried Secret not-so-perfectly-calculated plan was to find the ancient race of Lemurians who lived in Telos. Larry, being the overly ambitious scientist, had wanted to obtain the Lemurian DNA and clone their anti-aging genes. This discovery would forever change modern medicine and no doubt bring Larry renown recognition in his field. All had been going according to plan as they flew through the South Pole until, without any warning, a yellow electric beam of light surrounded their twin-engine plane, killing the engines. This forced the two panic-stricken men to escape using their orange parachutes, making them vulnerable to the unknown elements of a foreign space. While floating like helpless ragdolls through the cloudless sky of inner earth, Larry and Simon had gotten blown in separate directions. Simon had found his feet land squarely in Telos, while Larry had gotten a glimpse of hell at its finest and a crash course on how clever a demon could be. This was one of the unknown hazards of their daring trip that Larry hadn’t anticipated at all. When Larry had been in Draconia before, Lilith had snagged the opportunity to drug her chosen earthly victim, making it possible to take his wedding ring—and steal his hapless soul—while he was under her intoxicating spell.
