Najdublie vertikalno okno nalazi se u reviru Paulina, dubokoje 55m, dok dubina "vjetrenog" ili zratnog S1.5. bitumena (P a t r 1 j, 1975). Pitanje procjene veCih rezervi povezano je s teSkoCama u usmjeravanju budutih istrativanja, jer su rezultati prije zapotetih istrafnih buSenja vrlo skromni. Kod Vrgorca je postojao pogon za preradu sirovine. Sastojao se od drobilane, mlina i postrojenja za pripravljanje mastiksa i izolacijskih plob. U proSlosti s dalmatinskim asfaltom prekriveni su mnogi mostovi, terase, izolirana skladiSta, rezervoari i dr. u Europi. VrgoraEkim je asfaltom 1886. asfaltirano nekoliko kristalizacijskih bazena soli u Stonu, od kojih je Sv. Mundo joS pedesetih godina XX. stoljeta bio gotovo neoSteCen. Njime je takoder asfaltiran najveCi dio Sarajeva (An o n i m u s, 1932). U ViniSeu prirodni je asfalt eksploatiran 1668. (sl. 6) ali i 1628. (B a r b a r o, 1670, S o 1 d o; 1978), a pretpostavlja se i ranije (9 e b e E i C, 1984), jer je prirodni bitumen u srednjem, a dijelom i u novom vijeku rabljen za bitumenizaciju drvenih brodova. Dali je koje od naSih najstarijih lefiSta asfalta bilo poznato u doba h~atskihvladara, poglavito za kneza Domagoja (IX. stoljeCe), i kralja Zvonimira (XI. stoljete), kada smo raspolagali sa snatnom ratnom drvenom flotom, mo2e se (ne- )pouzdano hipotetizirati. ' Vlasnici .su GiniSkih nalaziSta bili Tronirska 1 biskzkpoa, prema kojem je autor nalaziSta na-brdu iznad ViniSh nazvao ViniSCe- Biskupiia (S e b e C i 6,. . 1984) i TqhkabeneaWimka opatija (vink~e-opatija, $ e b e C i C, 1984). JoS 1670. na opelaciju trogirskih biskupa "Vijete desetorice" zabranilo je rudarskim poduzetnicima aktivnost na brdu iznad ViniSCa, jer su uzurpirali zemljiSte Trogirske biskupije. Slitni pokuSaj je uCinjen pribliLno 175 god. kasnije nakon obnavljanja rudarske aktivnosti u ViniSCu - Opatiji :' . kada je nasljednik benediktinske opatije iz Trogira, Splitsko sjemenigte, traZilo zaStitu kod trogirskog suda, koji je zabranio odvoz asfalta iz ViniSCa u Veneciju, dok poduzetnik barun Rotschild nije kupio Cestice zemlje gdje se nalazilo naladte. Uz nalaziSte ViniSCe-Opatija njemaEki inienjer Hermann, , opunomoknik baruna Rotschilda, postavio je nekoliko rnlinova (S 1 a d e-S i 1 o v i C, 1939) za sitnjenje asfaltnog vapnenca te kotao, odnosno ped za zagrijavanje i "topljenje" bitumena, koji se potom cjedio u batvice, ili su iz crne kaSe pravili mastiks pogak, te kao poluproizvod ili pak samo kao sirovinu transportirali jedrenjacima od 1840, a S1.10. analiza), a gubitaka Zarenjem na 550°c, s kojim je procjenjen sadrfaj kerogena i vezanog bitumena, je 0.58% (76 analiza). ProsjeCni ponderirani sadriaj slobodnog bitumena za nabuseno podruqe iznosi 2,29% (130 analiza), a gubitka iarenjem 0.65% (130 analiza). Ukupno za ViniSCe-Biskupiju srednji sadrhj bitumena (181 analiza) je 2,00%, a gubitka hrenjem na 550'~0,76%. Sveukupno iz dosadainjih 213 analiza bitumena srednji sadriaj iznosi 2,24%. Bitumen se nalazi u porarna razlitite geneze u senonskim biogenim vapnencima, preteko u biomkuditima i bio@Seude>sparmditima, Gg-PpWw-Pp-Gg vapnenaCke sekvencije, koji se odlikuju boljim kolektorskim svojstvima u odnosu na podinske i krovinske vapnence-biomikrite. Osim istrafnog buSenja (34 istrahe buSotine dubina 20m-66,8m) provedena su i rudarsko-geologka istrativanja raskopima, potkopom te produbljenjem starog okna. Od starih rudarskih radova istiCu se dvije "min(j)eren povezane potkopom te jedno istrafno okno. Iz navedenog moZemo zakljutiti da je na Biskupiji otkopan tek mali dio zaliha. Bituminozno nalaziSte ViniSke-Opatija je dubinski kop (Sl. 8) dubine 15 m, otkopavan u tri nivoa, a s najdubljim nivoom, gdje je dosegnuta razina mora. Kasnije te I-Srempic' i M.Beros' dobili su od Magistrata K e r n e r (1916) opisuje asfaltna nalaziSta i leZi3ta i dozvolu za iskapanje pakline iz triju "rupa" u Donjem Dolcu: Okruglicu, PutiSCa Stan, kasnije Martinici ili SmriCi. nazvane "Staje", Na Privaj, zatim Gornja RoSca i Godine 1781. A.Lovrid iz Sinja zajedno sa KCelio-Cega (S o 1 d o, 1978) dobili su dozvolu za vadenje crnog asfalta na rtu Sv.Ciprijana kod Trogira uz plahnje desetine. 0 pojavi mrlja smole (kao katrana) na brdu Humu nedaleko od benediktinskog samostna i crkve kod KomiZe na Visu izvijestio je pismom 1782. god. Ekonomsko druStvo u Splitu lijeCnik Barbijeri, te istakao da narod zove to mjesto Paklenica i da se tu kopa katran (tj. paklina), koji se rabi za mazanje ribarskih brodova (2g a 1j i 6,1984). Godine 1786, dobila je obitelj M o s c a t t i pravo kopanja asfalta kod Siverida, medutim zbog velikih gubitaka odustala je od daljeg kopanja po isteku dozvole (P e r i C i 6,1980). Nakon propasti MletaEke Republike, Istra i Dalmacija uSle su u sastav Austrijske Monarhije, pa je njena Hofkammer (Dvorska gospodarska komora) registrirala do tada poznato rudno blago na navedenom podrueju. Tabelarno izvjeSCe ovih istra2ivanja (sl. 15) naanili su P a n t z i G a r a p i c s (1804), Sto gotovo poslije 190 god. spominje E r c e g A 0 -0 rn 0 A@ (1992). Prema odnosu slobodnog bitumena u ukupnoj organskoj Wari u gornjokrednim vapnencirna uktaliji su slabo . kerogeno-bituminozni vapnenci, a u paleogenim vapnencima slabo bituminozno-kerogeni vapnenci i slabo kerogeni vapnenci. Projenjeno je da je samo 10% rezervi kvalitetnija sirovina, tj. 26285 t (3 e b e C i C, 1977.). U sklopu prikaza bivSih jugoslavenskih, ukljuCivSi dalmatinske asfalte A b r a h a m (1960) izdvaja vrgoraCke, bratke i moroviCke asfalte sa starim analitiekim podacima, dok u crnogorske krivo I uvrStava ili mu je tako sugerirano, dubrovaEke, 1 viniSke, Ciovske i suhodolske (sjeverno - trogirske) ' asfalte, te asfalte izmedu DrniSa i Knina. Kasnije je u vrgoraaom asfaltu odredeno 16,32% bitumena (Eichleiter i Hackl,1920). U Kozici su istraZivani gornjokredni bituminozni dolomiti joS prije I. svjetskog rata. U njima su locirana 2 niskopa po 25 m duiine. Sadrbj bitumena varira od 0,90%-11,20% (x=3,87%, N=20), a debljina biturninozne zone od 1,5 do 3 m. Kao najznatajnije nalaziste asfalta u nas S c h u b e r t (1909) navodi Vrgorac, koji je ved poznat u XVIII. stoljeku, zatim Kozicu, Dolac, RadoSiC, te Suhi dol, Prapatnicu i dr., a na Brah: Mirca, Pui%Ce, Sv. Martin i Skrip. To su sve gornjo kredna lezista i naladta, od jurskih naWta navodi Stikovo, Kijevo i dr., a od eocenskih Peljdac i ciovo. Na kraju, ostaje joS nerjdeno pitanje podrijetla okruglastih sekundarnih nakupina pakline (bitumena) u naplavinama na Paklenim otocima. Za sada je neutemeljeno uobitajeno povezivati izdanke SI. 21. Nedostaju podaci o vapnenci - biomikriti a rjede fosiliferni mikriti i produkciji iz koreniCkog nalazigta, gdje su istraZni ertovi u izmjeni, te dolomiti. Samo su podruCja radovi obavljeni s dv~potkopa dufine 12m i 6m. DimiCi i Vagan neSto bogatija s organskom tvari.
