Tento model se opírá o autoetnografickou, kognitivní, fenomenologickou a psychofarmakologickou analýzu. Prostřednictvím těchto analýz ukazuje: 1) jaké místo zaujímají psychedelika v současné globalizované české společnosti; 2) možnosti heuristického (teoreticko-experimentálního) využití psychedelických zkušeností pro výklad lidské situovanosti. Psychedelickou zkušenost interpretuje tento text jako proces deteritorializace a reteritorializace různých, vzájemně propletených rovin prožívání a je tak příspěvkem k vypracování filosofického pojmu spleti.

  • Asian American Youth in the EDM Festival Scene
    Searching for a Cultural Home: Asian American Youth in the EDM Festival Scene Feature Article Judy Soojin Park Harvard University (United States) Abstract This article investigates the recent proliferation of Asian American participants in Electronic Dance Music (EDM) festivals with a particular focus on those organized by Insomniac Events in Southern California. As Insomniac’s events aim to propagate an ethos of PLUR—Peace, Love, Unity and Respect—reminiscent of historical rave culture, these events promise a space where anyone, regardless of race, class, gender or sexuality, is accepted. Using an interview-based methodology paired with participant observation, I argue that Asian American youth’s status as “perpetual foreigners” and subsequent desire for cultural belonging have motivated their participation in events promoted by Insomniac. Nevertheless, the Asian American participants I interviewed defined notions of belonging, authenticity and subcultural capital in the EDM festival scene in relation to suburban middle-class whiteness and in opposition to urban hip- hop blackness. My research provides a much-needed study of nonwhite participants and how they negotiate their subjectivities in relation to the contemporary EDM festival scene. Martin Voříšek, Ph.D. 2012 Anotace Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na žánr elektronické taneční hudby a jeho další stylové rozdělení v rámci české hudební scény. Anotation This diploma thesis is focused on the topic of electronic dance music and its genre classification within Czech music scene. The main part of the thesis defines seven primary genres of EDM from the historical and musical perspective, and consequently it divides them into the subgenres that the audience can meet on the Czech dance floors most frequently. Moreover, the thesis describes the origin, evolution as well as the current situation of Czech EDM. The thesis also concerns with the differences among the subgenres by means of the drum pattern notation and sonic samples. Konovaltsia St., Kyiv, Ukraine, 01133 The purpose of the work is to analyse the features of electronic dance music (EDM) in the cultural space of Ukraine in the late 2000s and early 2010s based on the study of online publications on electronic dance music, review the most important events in EDM culture and provide an interpretation of the most relevant musical trends over the past two decades. The research methodology includes descriptive and interpretive approaches, statistical analysis, synthesis and generalization of the collected information to complete the scientific understanding of the electronic dance music existence in Ukrainian culture. The scientific novelty. The festivals of electronic dance music in Ukraine in the late 2000s – early 2010s were studied for the first time; the study describes the features and genre diversity of electronic dance music and the most popular trends of techno and house music. Conclusions. The study has demonstrated that electronic dance music in Ukraine was the most popular in the late 2000s – early 2010s, when it was played not only in dance clubs, but also at festivals. The following EDM festivals in Ukraine have been analysed: “KaZantip republic” (1997-2013), “Ideologia” (2003–2013), “Ultrasonic” (2011–2014), “The Hamselyt” (2012–2019).

I contribute to existing research in marketing by developing a novel framework that conceptualizes markets as constituted of three levels, and by explaining the contribution of each level to the creation of a new market category. My findings emerge from a qualitative inquiry of the creation of the category of Electronic Dance Music (EDM). I find that each level contributes differently to the creation of a mainstream cultural category. Local innovation networks (or LINs) unite consumers and producers and provide unique elements that facilitate the creation of new cultural products by consumers. Niches serve as a bridge between these local networks and a mainstream market. Niche actors contribute to the creation of a boundary infrastructure that supports the transfer, translation, and transformation of the knowledge associated with an innovative cultural product. This, in turn, facilitates the movement of an innovative cultural product from a local network to a mainstream market. Mainstream actors diffuse elements of the innovative cultural product and open what Bourdieu calls “a space of possibles”.
