President Milton H. Jones, Jr. to conduct 2010 Stakeholders & Community Briefing and Present Atlantans on the Move Awards as CNN Anchor T.J. Holmes presides as Masters of Ceremonies
ATLANTA, GA, April 19, 2010 – The Atlanta community is invited to attend the 100’s President’s Breakfast: Stakeholders & Community Briefing on Thursday, April 22, 2010. The breakfast will be held at the Hilton Atlanta Hotel located at 255 Courtland Street, N.E., Atlanta 30303. Join members of 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Inc., the Board of Directors and corporate and community partners for this annual event.
A highlight of this year’s breakfast will be the presentations of the 2010 Atlantans on the Move Awards. The two deserving honorees are: Geri Thomas, Georgia President, Bank of America and John Rice, President and CEO, GE Technology Infrastructure. This honor was first bestowed in 1992, and since then, a select number of individuals from all spectrums of society have been recognized including Olympian Gail Devers, Academician Dr. Stephen R. Portch, The Alliance Theatre’s Susan V. Booth, former Atlanta Police Chief Richard J. Pennington, former U.S. Secretary of Health, Dr. David Satcher as well Atlanta School Superintendent Dr. Beverly Hall and former U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Audrey Forbes Manley, among many others.
In addition to sharing highlights from the annual report and reviewing the current state of the 100, Milton H. Jones, Jr., Chairman of the Board, will present the 2010 Project Success high school graduates. The public is invited to attend this event and hear from guest speaker Chancellor Erroll B. Davis, Jr., Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. Chancellor Davis will discuss the State of the University System of Georgia.
“ With the support of many loyal partners the 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Inc. has consistently provided support for the youth of Project Success,” stated Milton H. Jones, Jr., Chairman. “Over the years the needs have grown and the 100 has responded to our youth, their families and the communities in which they live. We look forward to sharing with the Atlanta community our achievements over the last year.”
