Celebrating 90 years! February 2014
MUSIC MAKES THE HEART SING
Happy New Year to all our MMC members. A new year is always the time to set new goals, even more so in 2014 as we celebrate our 90th anniversary. Let us aim to make MMC more visible. TELL your friends, neighbors, people you meet in ShopRite. TELL everyone you know about the oldest music organization in Rockland County, serving the community through concerts and scholarship awards. Also, we must increase our Treasury!! ANY time is a good time to make a donation, and MMC has two very important projects--Outreach, which includes our concert series, and of course our Scholarship Program. In 2013, we held our Annual Tea at the home of member Naomi Park on a Sunday (instead of Tuesday) afternoon. The response was so successful that the Tea will be scheduled again on a Sunday afternoon in 2014. Likewise, the Holiday concert was very well attended. MMC was delighted to have two students from the Rockland Conservatory of Music perform during the Interlude. The Conservatory's Director, Marigene Kettler, surprised us by making the introductions. Our flyers on their bulletin board brought out parents and friends who didn't already know about us.
Barbara Allen, Deirdre Fallon and Jean Rohrs joined our terrific Board of Directors. All BOD meetings are open to members, so come join us sometime. Barbara Pease, President
