BLOUNT COUNTY, SR 73 between Morganton Square Drive and Simmons Street: On Monday, May 21, 2018 through Friday, May 25, 2018, motorists should be alert for daily lane closures between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. as crews perform utility work in this area. Motorists should be alert for workers present, expect potential delays, and use caution through this area. CAMPBELL COUNTY, I-75 North and South between Mile Markers 135 and 142: Motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning through this project. Motorists should be alert for lane shifts, narrowed lanes, closed shoulders and use caution as crews construct truck climbing lanes through this area. CLAIBORNE COUNTY, US 25/SR 32 between Powell River Bridge and SR 63: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform roadway resurfacing. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution through this area. CLAIBORNE COUNTY, SR 63 between Campbell County Line and Dunn Hill Road: Motorists should be alert for possible daily lane closures between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. as crews perform roadway resurfacing. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution through this area. COCKE COUNTY, I-40 East and West between Mile Markers 435 (SR 32) and 443 (Foothills Pkwy.): Motorists traveling on I-40 in Cocke County should be aware of bridge repairs that will affect traffic between Newport and the North Carolina State Line. Bridge repairs will occur on the section of Interstate 40 between east of Exit 435 (SR 32) and Exit 443 (Foothills Parkway). The bridges to be repaired will include eastbound and westbound bridges over Golf Course Road (L.M. 7.17); Pigeon River (L.M. 9.76); S.R. 73 (L.M. 10.55); Hartford Road (L.M. 12.97) and Pigeon River (L.M. 13.10). I-40 East and West near Mile Marker 443 is reduced to one lane around the clock as bridge repairs are underway. This necessary work will take place daily, with continuous work at the given locations until work is complete. Lane reductions will only be in place at the bridge site under repair and will not extend throughout the entire eight mile project limits simultaneously. Once repairs are completed at one bridge site, crews will move to the next site and perform continuous around the clock repairs at that location until complete. Once bridge repairs are completed, the resurfacing will begin and motorists will encounter lane closures nightly on Sundays through Thursdays between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning. This project is estimated to be complete on or before August 31, 2018. Motorists should be alert for workers present, expect delays and use extreme caution through this area. COCKE COUNTY, US 25/SR 9 East Broadway Street between US 321 Cosby Highway and Belton Avenue: Motorists in the downtown Newport area should be alert for temporary road closures with detours as crews perform utility replacements through this area. During the initial phase of work, short sections of East Broadway Street will be closed and traffic detoured around. Truck traffic from I-40 wishing to access this area should use Exit 440 during this time. Motorists should be alert for changed conditions and follow signed detours. Motorists should be alert for workers present, lane closures and lane shifts, and use extreme caution through this area. This Newport Utilities project is estimated to be complete by October 2018. GREENE COUNTY, US 11/SR 34 between Chuckey Highway and the Washington County Line: Motorists should be alert for temporary daily lane closures between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. through this resurfacing project. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution through this area. GREENE COUNTY, SR 70 between Rollins Chapel Road and Allen Bridge Road: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures during daylight hours through this resurfacing project. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution through this area. This project is estimated to be complete on or before July 31, 2018. GREENE COUNTY, SR 107 between SR 34 and the Washington County Line: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures during daylight hours through this resurfacing project. HAMBLEN COUNTY, US 25E/SR 32 Bridge over the Holston River: The US 25E/ SR 32 Bridge over the Holston River is reduced to one lane in each direction around the clock as crews perform bridge repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers present and expect delays and use extreme caution through this area. This project is estimated to be completed on or before June 30, 2018. HAMBLEN COUNTY, SR 160 at Merchants Greene: Motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures daily between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. near this intersection Motorists should be alert for changing conditions and use extreme caution in this area intersection. The detours in place for this closure are as follows: From SR 70 in Rogersville: Take SR 1 (US 11W) South to SR 31 North in Moo resburg, to SR 33 North back to SR 70. From SR 70 in Kyles Ford: Take SR 33 South to SR 31 South in Sneedville, to SR 1 (US 11W) North in Mooresburg back to SR 70 North in Rogersville.. Motorists should use caution, adjust travel times and expect potential delays. This closure is estimated to remain in place around the clock through May 21, 2018. JEFFERSON COUNTY, I-40 East and West between Mile Markers 415 and 421: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures nightly on Sundays through Thursdays between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning through this resurfacing project. This project is estimated to be complete on or before August 31, 2018. Motorists should be alert for workers present, expect delays and use extreme caution through this area. JEFFERSON COUNTY, I-81 North and South between Mile Markers 3 and 5: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures nightly on Sundays through Thursdays between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform work through this bridge repair project. Motorists should be alert for workers present, expect possible delays, and use extreme caution through this area.     Historic Structures Survey for the Washington Pike Roadway Improvements Project Knoxville, Knox County, TN TDOT PIN # 043090.00 PREPARED FOR: City of Knoxville, Tennessee SUBMITTED BY: PO Box 1631 Knoxville, TN 37901 JANUARY 2013 1100 Marion Street, Suite 200 Knoxville, TN 37921 Management Summary CDM Smith conducted the historic structures survey for proposed improvements to Washington Pike in the City of Knoxville in Knox County in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended, and Section 4(f) of the U.S. DOT Act of 1966. This survey was conducted on behalf of the City of Knoxville and the Tennessee Department of Transportation with funding from the Federal Highway Administration. The project is located along Washington Pike with its western terminus at the I-640 interchange and its eastern terminus at Murphy Road. A search of the Tennessee State Historic Preservation Office files revealed no resources listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in the general vicinity of the project. A historic structures survey was conducted in April 2012 to identify historic resources in the designated project Area of Potential Effect (APE), determine their eligibility for listing on the NRHP, and assess the project’s potential effect on eligible properties. Results of the recent field survey found 14 resources within the APE of which 13 resources were determined not eligible and one resource is recommended eligible for the NRHP. It is the opinion of the consultant that the Murphy Springs Farm (KN-2586) is eligible for the NRHP based on Criteria A as an example of a family farmstead in the Early Settlement of Knox County and Criteria C for its example of Gothic Revival architecture.
