With effect from ______2017 and ______2017 the tender document (CD) may be collected at:

Address: Metrorail Regional Office 65 Masabalala Yengwa Avenue Durban Station

Office hours: Mondays to Fridays 08:00 to 15:30 (ONLY) where CD’s can also be obtained on payment of an amount of R 500.00 per disc which is not refundable. No cash or cheques will be accepted at PRASA offices – (Bank Deposit or Electronic Payments - allow for 1-day delay). Clearly indicate the Tender Number on the Deposit Slip or EFT document as reference.

Confirmation of EFT payment must be e-mailed to the Senior Buyer PRIOR to collecting the CD or attending the Briefing Session. Failing to do so will result in you not being granted access to the Briefing Session.

 Tenderers must arrange own transport and parking.  Tenderers failing to attend the compulsory tender briefing session will be disqualified.  PRASA reserves the right to only allow tenderers in possession of a valid tender document at the briefing.  A maximum of two representatives per company will be allowed to attend the briefing.  Tender documents (CD’s) are only available during the period stipulated above.

THE ONUS IS ON THE TENDERER TO PRINT THE DOCUMENT FROM THE CD DISC AND SUBMIT PRINTED TENDER DOCUMENTS WHEN SUBMITTING THEIR TENDERS.

NB: IT IS MANDATORY REQUIREMENT FOR PROSPECTIVE SUPPLIERS TO BE REGISTERED ON THE CSD IN ALL REQUESTS FOR PROCUREMENT OF GOODS AND / OR SERVICES.

BID ADVERTISEMENT FORM SPECIFICATION

SUPPLY AND INSTALL 2MVA 11KV/400V TRANSFORMERS FOR PARCELS SUBSTATIONS

1. PROJECT PURPOSE

The purpose of this project is to supply and install TWO 2MVA, 11KV/400V indoor oil cooled transformers as per attached bill of quantity.

2. ADDITIONAL WORKS

Any additional work not authorized by the Project manager, even if proven necessary for the successful completion of the project, will be tenderer’s own account.

3. PENALTIES

3.1 The contractor will be charged a penalty of R200.00 per day delayed after the project duration has expired. 3.2 The contractor shall also be charged R10 000.00 if found on site without proper site access from Metrorail.

4. REQUIREMENTS

4.1 The contractor must provide a qualified Electrician or Technician with a minimum of 2 -3 years of experience on Medium Voltage Cable Termination and 11KV Transformer Installation. 4.2 The contractor must have a traceable reference of the similar work.

5. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

All work in this contract shall comply with the Occupational Safety Act, 1993 (Act No 85 of 1993). These items shall all be included in tendered rate. A copy of the act as well as an approved safety file shall be kept on site for the duration of the project.

6. SECURITY

The contractor shall be responsible for providing security on site until site is handed over to Metrorail

7. CLEARING OF SITE

All rubble which is left over as a direct result of work performed by the contractor shall be removed from site and disposed by the contractor. The substation floors and walls shall be left in a clean condition. All cables, wires and conductors cut-offs and surplus material shall be removed from site to Durban Electrical depot.

8. CIDB GRADING

CIDB grading is 3 EP.

9. DURATION

The project duration is eight (8) months.

10. TRANSPORTATION OF SCRAP

The contractor shall transport old equipment to Durban Electrical Depot
