Cambodia Map Implementation We will support Anloung Lvea Primary School by constructing one new building with four fully furnished classrooms and one toilet. The government is responsible for the teachers’ salaries and the provision of learning materials. As with all our projects, we will seek to involve the local community in the construction process as much as possible. The community will contribute by filling up the school foundation, monitoring the construction progress and reporting to us regularly. We will perform regular check-ups in order to evaluate our high quality standards. Involvement of the community in the project is critical as it encourages a stronger sense of ownership over the project. A local contractor will be hired to manage the labour and materials, and oversee the construction of the school. Once the project is completed, the community will be responsible for the maintenance of the school building. Payments will be made in instalments according to the progress of the construction and 5% of the total cost will be held back for six months as a guarantee for the work. We consider this project as low risk. The main risks would be delays in construction due to a very strong rainy season and potential absenteeism by workers in order to mend their fields during plantation. Construction is due to begin at the end of May and completion is expected by December 2015.
