5 Special Dietary Needs

Miami Dining is committed to going above and beyond expectations regarding students with special dietary needs. We will accommodate students with special diets due to food allergies, intolerances, and/or medical needs; we do so through partnering with Student Disability Services. We also work with students who follow a special diet. We take into consideration cultural backgrounds, religious affiliations, and lifestyle choices.

For more information, please contact our Registered Dietitian at (513) 529-5552.

General way finding for a vegetarian or vegan student can be found on our Dining website under the “menu” tab. This will take you to our NetNutrion menu database. This site houses all of our menus with the ability to filter based on dietary preference in addition to providing nutrient information.

Nut-Friendly Campus

Since 2017, Miami Dining has been NUT FRIENDLY. This means we do not actively include peanuts and tree nuts (including coconut) in our recipes. There is a variety of labeling when it comes to allergens. We avoid purchasing ingredients that house a “may contain [nuts]” statement in our recipes.

We do however, purchase ingredients that may contain a “processed in the same facility with [nuts]” or “processed on shared equipment with [nuts]” statement. When a recipe or item has this type of statement, we inform our guests with our “processed with nuts” allergen trait.

For those who enjoy nut products, don’t worry! We have packaged nut products in markets and at Pulley Candy Bar. We also have two full service Starbucks on campus that offer nut milks and toppings.

Vending on Campus

Over 225 machines across campus, conveniently located in residence halls and academic buildings. Offering a wide variety of beverages, snacks, healthy options, and more, available 24 hours a day.

Regional Campuses

Miami Dining operations expand onto our Regional Campuses as well. These operations follow the same guidelines as the main campus to carry over with the nut-friendly initiative and special diet accommodations.

The National Center for Education Statistics has found that “students working 1-15 hours weekly earn higher GPAs” than students who do not work at all.

With over 1500 student employees, Campus Services is the largest employer of students on campus. We take pride in offering a student employment experience that both engages and empowers each student.

Check out our open positions at Jobs.MiamiOH.edu, or contact Travis McCoy at [email protected].

Food & Beverage positions start at $9 and include the opportunity to earn a semester bonus of up to $300!
