Sunday Worship Guide

WELCOME AND CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 72:1-14 (ESV) - Give the king your justice, O God, and your righteousness to the royal son! May he judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice! Let the mountains bear prosperity for the people, and the hills, in righteousness! May he defend the cause of the poor of the people, give deliverance to the children of the needy, and crush the oppressor! May they fear you[a] while the sun endures, and as long as the moon, throughout all generations!

May he be like rain that falls on the mown grass, like showers that water the earth! In his days may the righteous flourish, and peace abound, till the moon be no more! May he have dominion from sea to sea, and from the River[b] to the ends of the earth! May desert tribes bow down before him, and his enemies lick the dust! May the kings of Tarshish and of the coastlands render him tribute; may the kings of Sheba and Seba bring gifts! May all kings fall down before him, all nations serve him! For he delivers the needy when he calls, the poor and him who has no helper. He has pity on the weak and the needy, and saves the lives of the needy. From oppression and violence he redeems their life, and precious is their blood in his sight.

This is God’s word.

SONG - YOU ARE MY STRENGTH Here beneath Your shelter I can rest within Your love Deep inside Your shadow I am safe In the secret places is where You’re meeting me When I’m with you I am not afraid

Though all around me fall You set my feet to stand You hold my every breath within Your hand

Under your covering You will hold onto me Through the battle Your arms carry me My defender, My refuge You are my strength

When darkness overwhelms me and arrows fly by day No matter what surrounds me I am safe

Though all around me fall You set my feet to stand You hold my every breath within Your hand

Under your covering You will hold onto me Through the battle Your arms carry me My defender, My refuge You are my strength

I know, I know, victory is Yours I know, I know victory is sure (x3) I know, I know, victory is Yours I know, I know, I know

Under your covering You will hold onto me Through the battle Your arms carry me My defender, My refuge You are my strength You are my strength You are my strength

SONG - CHRIST ABOVE ALL You have spoken a better word Through the precious blood of Jesus, You’ve broken the curse Greater than the prophets or the priests Is the lamb slain for sinners, the Risen King

Above every king and kingdom He reigns He alone has the power to save My great High Priest, who pleads for me Christ above all

You shine forth the Father’s love A cornerstone rejected, now lifted up To the right hand of the Father’s throne of grace Pouring mercy over sinners, drank judgment in our place

Above every king and kingdom He reigns He alone has the power to save My great High Priest, who pleads for me Christ above all

He reigns, He reigns, above all my fears He reigns, He reigns, over all my doubt He reigns, He reigns, I’m laying down All my control (x2)

Above every king and kingdom He reigns He alone has the power to save My great High Priest, who pleads for me Christ above all CONFESSION Based on Ephesians 4:1-6

People: Lord, we open our hands and our hearts to You. We long to walk in a manner worthy of the calling You have given us. We desire humility and gentleness, patience, and bearing with one another in love. We ask for the Spirit’s help in seeking unity and the bond of peace. We believe in one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all, and in all.

Amen

SONG - IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL When peace like a river attendeth my way When sorrows like sea billows roll Whatever my lot, thou has taught me to say It is well, it is well, with my soul

It is well (it is well) With my soul (with my soul) It is well, it is well with my soul

My sin, oh the bliss of this glorious thought My sin, not in part but the whole Was nailed to the cross and I bear it no more Praise the Lord, praise the Lord oh my soul

It is well (it is well) With my soul (with my soul) It is well, it is well with my soul

And Lord haste the day when my faith shall be sight The clouds be rolled back as the scroll The trump shall resound and the Lord shall descend Even so, it is well with my soul

It is well (it is well) With my soul (with my soul) It is well, it is well with my soul
