Go to dark Gethsemane, ye that feel the tempter’s power; your Redeemer’s conflict see, watch with him one bitter hour. Turn not from his griefs away; learn of Jesus Christ to pray. 4. Early hasten to the tomb where they laid his breathless clay; all is solitude and gloom. Who has taken him away? Christ is risen! He meets our eyes; Savior, teach us so to rise. Hosanna, Loud Hosanna UMH 278 1. Hosanna, loud hosanna, the little children sang, through pillared court and temple the lovely anthem rang. To Jesus, who had blessed them close folded to his breast, the children sang their praises, the simplest and the best. 3. “Hosanna in the highest!” that ancient song we sing, for Christ is our Redeemer, the Lord of heaven our King. O may we ever praise him with heart and life and voice, and in his blissful presence eternally rejoice! Jesus keep me Near the Cross UMH 301 Jesus keep me near the cross; there a precious. fountain, free to. all, a healing stream, flows from Calvary’s mountain. Near the cross, a trembling soul, love and mercy found me; there the bright. and morning star sheds its beams around me. (Refrain) Near the cross! O Lamb of God, bring its scenes. before me; help me walk. from day to day with its shadow o’er me. Near the cross I’ll watch and wait, hoping, trusting ever, till I reach the golden strand just beyond the river. 7 Hymns for the Journey Jesus Remember Me (Taize) UMH 488 Jesus, remember me, when you come into your kingdom. Jesus, remember me, when you come into your kingdom. Were you There UMH 288 Were you there when they crucified my Lord? Were you there when they crucified my Lord? Oh! Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble. Were you there when they crucified my Lord? Were you there when they nailed him to a tree?.... Were you there when they pierced him in the side?..

We also know that God put the wiggle in kids! This means we think gathered worship should have the murmur of a family reunion, not the austere silence of a museum. Families with young children may prefer sitting in the back in case a parent needs to step out in order to help a child regain control.

  • February 21St Order of Worship
February 21st Order of Worship ✝ Prelude Hymn Sing Ah, Holy Jesus (vs. 1 & 2) Ah, holy Jesus, how hast Thou offended, that we to judge Thee have in hate pretended? By foes derided, by Thine own rejected, O most afflicted! Who was the guilty? Who brought this upon Thee? Alas, my treason, Jesus, hath undone Thee! ‘Twas I, Lord Jesus, I it was denied Thee; I crucified Thee. Jesus, Lover of My Soul (vs. 1 & 4) Jesus, lover of my soul, let me to Thy bosom fly, while the nearer waters roll, while the tempest still is high. Hide me, O my Savior, hide, till the storm of life is past; safe into the haven guide; O receive my soul at last. Plenteous grace with Thee is found, grace to cover all my sin; let the healing streams abound, make and keep me pure within. Thou of life the fountain art, freely let me take of Thee; Spring Thou up within my heart; rise to all eternity. It Is Well with My Soul (vs. 1 & 3) When peace like a river, attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll; whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, It is well, it is well with my soul. It is well with my soul, It is well, it is well with my soul. My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part but the whole, is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more, praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul.
