Marci Reardon For nearly a decade Marci Reardon of Oak Park, CA has worked at Countrywide Financial where she is currently senior executive assistant to the CEO. Married to professional climber Michael Reardon and the mother of a teenage daughter, Reardon has devoted time to a variety of philanthropic work that includes Sickle Cell Anemia and foster feeding at the Santa Barbara Zoo.

“I want to speak up for those who cannot,” says Reardon. When her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, she became more active in cancer research organizations. “My goal is to be involved in smaller organizations with a better focus, and in HERA I found a group of strong women committed to a cause that has long been overlooked.” In 2006, she was the top fundraiser of the Climb 4 Life event in Salt Lake City and looks forward to helping in the fight against ovarian cancer. Angela Goodacre Donini Currently an applications specialist in the Biobusiness Develop Group of Olympus America Inc., Goodacre Donini spent 15 years as a researcher at the prestigious MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Here she developed a keen interest in chromosome rearrangements in cancer, fluorescent imaging of cellular and molecular events and molecular imaging in vivo. Her scientific expertise is a great asset to the HERA Foundation, as she will provide great insight for HERA’s OSB1 Grant Program.

Outside the lab and office, Goodacre Donini of Ouray, Colorado, is an accomplished rock climber, often found scaling sandstone cracks in the Utah desert of Indian Creek, on limestone walls in Mexico, or ice climbing in the Canadian Rockies. An accomplished mountaineer, she has tackled peaks in Bolivia and the U.S. and enjoyed trekking adventures in Patagonia.

Michael Reardon Climbing for nearly two decades, Michael Reardon of Oak Park, CA is known worldwide for his daring solo ascents, sans rope or protective gear. Off the rock, Reardon is a writer, director and producer for feature films and television. His film work includes running business affairs for Harvey Entertainment, which produced Casper the Friendly Ghost and Richie Rich. He’s also a founding partner in Black Sky Entertainment, which produced Cabin Fever. As an advisor to the board, Reardon will bring his entrepreneurial and business planning experience to assist in the further development of the HERA Foundation.

A graduate of UCLA and Pepperdine University School of Law, Reardon has volunteered for events, brought awareness through his slide shows around the world, and “climbing dates” with the pro-athlete have been auctioned off on the Internet. “Everyone is affected by ovarian cancer because we all have a woman in our life be it a spouse, sister, mother or daughter,” says Reardon. “And I have all of those in my life!”

The HERA Foundation is a registered 501 (c) 3, whose mission is to stop the loss of mothers, daughters, wives, sisters, partners, and girlfriends from ovarian cancer by empowering women to take control of their health, empowering the medical community to find new directions in ovarian cancer research and empowering communities to provide support.
