In Memory of Eileen Lindsay Eckert December 31, 1944 - February 20, 2021 On Saturday, February 20, 2021, Eileen Lindsay Eckert, loving wife and mother of three daughters, lost her battle with cancer at age 76. Eileen was born on December 31, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA to Bill and Edith Lindsay. She received her nursing degree in 1965 from the Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing and practiced nursing for 43 years at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills, California. On April 18, 1970, she married Walter Eckert. They raised three daughters, Sheri, Amy and Lisa. Eileen was known for her friendly smile, hard work, compassion for her job and family and her deep care for others. She loved her life which was filled with family, many friends, work, school events, youth sports, weddings, traveling, and volunteer work. Eileen’s life revolved around her 3 daughters and their families. She also loved her nursing job which was her second family. She had lots of fun keeping up with her nurse and doctor friends, and their families. Eileen mailed many greeting cards and pictures throughout the years to make sure everyone in her life knew she cared about them. Eileen was always there to listen, confide in, encourage, give advice and would never judge. Her final wish would be for everyone to make sure they take the time to care for others. Eileen is survived by her husband Walt, three daughters Sheri, Amy and Lisa, 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, sister Sandy, an aunt, a niece, 2 nephews, 1 great nephew, and several cousins. A small burial service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Memory Gardens in Brea, CA with only the immediate family due to the restriction from Covid-19. A celebration of life will be planned for late summer 2021 and more information will be sent out for those who would like to celebrate her life. The family would like to thank you all for your love and support throughout the years for Eileen. 12 | The Downey Patriot Legal Notices Thursday, Mar. 4, 2021 residence address of a registered owner.
