VIDEOS WITH AUDIO DESCRIPTION State Library of Kansas Talking Books Emporia, Kansas WHAT IS IT? Audio description carefully describes the visual elements of a movie --- the action, characters, locations, costumes and sets --- without interfering with the movies' dialogue or sound effects. You still follow all the action! The State Library of Kansas Regional Library in Emporia offers descriptive videos (VHS tapes) and DVDs free of charge to Kansas Talking Book patrons. To hear the descriptions on these videos, you will need a DVD player, or VHS player and television. No special devices are needed. Movies are checked out for two weeks. Patrons may receive one DVD or two VHS titles at a time. If they are not returned, service will be discontinued. It may be necessary to fill out a report with your local post office if the videos are lost in the mail.
