Organised by Sharrin Gill, 26 members in 15 cars and 1 motor cycle, assembled at the riverside park in Coraki on a beautiful summer’s morning. Sharrin arranged for the cars to travel in convoy and, on arrival at the Centre, we were met by the residents who were keen to look & part with stories of their memories of vehicles of that era. For some members it was a chance to meet again with Tom Shepherd & discuss their involvement with him from years gone by. Three vehicles present on the day, John Gill’s 1927 Essex, Gordon Lowrey’s 1925 Studebaker & Chris Loadsman’s 1929 Chev were all trimmed by Tom Shepherd some 20 years ago. It was a pleasure to watch Tom inspecting the cars & giving a little advice on how to continue to maintain his “works of art”. Residents & club members were invited into the facility for morning tea which gave us a chance to thank Sharrin and the staff for making the morning such a pleasure. Special thanks also to Tom’s son Col & daughter-in-law Karen. Those who participated – Chris & Narelle Loadsman, Sharrin Gill, Terry & Julie Prodger & their daughter & 2 grandsons, Ron Hawkins, Ron & Nancy Hambly, John Hunt, Max & Ann Murray, Russell & Jan Earnshaw, Jim & Robyn Hayward & 2 grandsons, Ben Clift, David & Rhonda Clift, Gordon & Colleen Lowrey, John Gill, Noel Gill, Robert & Meryl Lovell, Norm & Kathleen Clapham. The Chrysler Valiant The Chrysler Valiant was a full size car which was sold by Chrysler Australia between 1962 and 1981. Initially a rebadged locally assembled Plymouth Valiant from the United States. From the second generation launched in 1963, the Valiant was fully manufactured in Australia.

Veteran, Vintage & Classic Vehicle Insurance 1800 646 605 Finding the right kind of insurance can be hard, especially when you own a rare and valuable vehicle that has unique insurance needs. There are a number of things you should consider when looking for insurance for your special vehicle. Make sure the policy has an Agreed Value option. This allows you to include extras such as any work that has been done to restore or improve its condition, that wouldn’t usually be considered in a standard market value. The option of Salvage retention is especially important for owners of veteran, vintage or classic vehicles, as this feature allows owners to keep the wreck after an accident as a potential to rebuild or a source of parts. Please review conditions of this carefully as with some insurers there is an extra cost involved or the vehicle has to be of a certain age. Many restorers of veteran, vintage or classic vehicles require cover for vehicles under restoration. Make sure your vehicle is covered on and off the road. Other policy features such as choice of re- pairer are also worth considering. The most important thing to remember is to always read your policy documents and weigh up all the pros and cons, financial or otherwise, because only you can decide what cover is best for your vehicle. NRMA Insurance will take as much care of your classic vehicle as you do. Our Veteran, Vintage and Classic Vehicle Insurance policy is designed for vehicles used for hobby and recreational purposes and includes cover up to the agreed value, faultless excess and retention of salvage after an accident (for vehicles manufactured prior to 31/12/1980).
