Acrocephalus 31 (147): 175−179, 2010 A Milestone on the Road to Natura 2000 Mejnik na poti k Naturi 2000 The publication “Important Bird Areas of Macedonia: Sites of Global and European Importance” provides a fascinating insight into the natural and cultural heritage of the country. The approved list of sites now includes a wide variety of landscapes hosting bird species that have become rare or threatened in many parts of Europe. Very important is the fact that only about 21% of the national protected area network overlaps the Important Bird Areas of Macedonia. Now an assessment of the natural assets of Macedonia is available for the first time, based on a systematic approach using the international criteria developed by BirdLife International for the selection of sites under the EU Birds Directive. The first results indicate where the country hosts areas of European and even global importance, where urgent conservation measures are needed, and are excellent guidelines for the rural development and tourism. A wide range of political commitments within the European Union is aimed at preserving ecosystems and biodiversity, with various species protection provisions as well as Special Protection Areas (SPAs) identified under the Birds Directive and Sites of Community Importance (SCIs) identified under the Habitats Directive, both incorporated into the Natura 2000 (N2000) network. The publication of the “Important Bird Areas of Macedonia” prepared by the Macedonian Ecological Society (MES) as a national representative of the BirdLife International’s partnership is the first systematic assessment of Macedonia’s sites based on the internationally recognized criteria to implement the Birds Directive. -

ENERGY AND WATER SERVICES REGULATORY COMMISSION OF THE REPUBLIC OF NORTH MACEDONIA APRIL 2019 ANNUAL REPORT 201 8 Annual Report of the Energy and Water Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of North Macedonia in 2018 ENERGY AND WATER SERVICES REGULATORY COMMISSION OF THE REPUBLIC OF NORTH MACEDONIA ___________________________________________________________________ The Annual Report of the Energy and Water Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of North Macedonia for 2018 has been prepared in accordance with Article 36 from the Energy Law, which establishes the obligation of the Energy and Water Services Regulatory Commission to submit the Annual Report for its operation during the previous year to the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, not later than 30th of April of the current year. The Annual Report of the Energy and Water Services Regulatory Commission for 2018 contains detailed information on the performance of the competences according to the Energy Law and the Law on Setting Prices of Water Services, as well as information on the material-financial operation. The Energy Law also determines that the Annual Report of the Energy and Water Services Regulatory Commission needs to be submitted to the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Ministry competent for the performance of the assignments within the energy area, so that they could be informed, as well as to the Energy Community Secretariat. The Report contains overview of the activities performed by the Energy and Water Services Regulatory Commission during 2018, with special review of: − State of the energy markets, − State of the prices and tariffs regulation, − Preparing regulatory acts, − International activities and − Financial Statement of the Energy and Water Services Regulatory Commission. -

Digging in Kitsch Depths Uncovering Urban Development Projects Skopje 2014 - Inverdan Iris Verschuren Erasmus Mundus Master Course in Urban Studies 4 Cities Academic Year of Defence: 2017-2018 Date of Submission: September 1, 2017 Supervisors Martin Zerlang, Henrik Reeh Second Reader Bas van Heur Abstract This research concerns itself with forms of kitsch in two urban development projects. These projects in Skopje, Macedonia and Zaandam, The Netherlands, are discussed in their specific contexts and then analysed along a framework based on themes and topics related to the cultural category of kitsch. This category deals with both stylistic and aesthetic characteristics, but also focuses on processes outside of the object. Thus it enables to think of kitsch as a label that can just as well be applied to politics, policies or therefore urban development projects apart from just cultural objects. Furthermore linking kitsch with the ideologies and narratives of the UDPs shows how these are expressed in the actual physical form. In the end it is about the question what labeling these projects kitsch means, but also in what ways the label is used or applied and what kind of responses this evokes thus answering ‘in what ways can kitsch be related to the contemporary urban development projects Skopje 2014 and Inverdan?’ Although the cities and projects are incredibly different in context and the resulting style, there are still similarities in the way that kitsch is used and how this relates to a continuing global pressure to compete in neoliberal -

The very presence of this medical instrument in Serbian medieval art indicates its usage in Serbian medical practices of the time. Phlebotomy is one of the oldest forms of therapy, widely spread in medieval times. It is also mentioned in Serbian medical texts, such as Chilandar Medical Codex No. 517 and Hodoch code, i.e. translations from Latin texts originating from Salerno–Montpellier school. Lancet or phlebotome is identified based on archaeological finds from the Roman period, while finds from the Middle Ages and especially from Byzantium have been scarce. Analyses of preserved frescoes and icons has shown that, in comparison to other medical instruments, lancet is indeed predominant in Serbian medieval art, and that it makes for over 80% of all the representations, while other instruments have been depicted to a far lesser degree. E2120 EMP Checklist for Construction and Rehabilitation Activities General Guidelines for use of EMP checklist: For low-risk topologies, such as school and hospital rehabilitation activities, the ECA Public Disclosure Authorized safeguards team developed an alternative to the current EMP format to provide an opportunity for a more streamlined approach to preparing EMPs for minor rehabilitation or small-scale works in building construction, in the health, education and public services sectors. The checklist-type format has been developed to provide “example good practices” and designed to be user friendly and compatible with safeguard requirements. The EMP checklist-type format attempts to cover typical core mitigation approaches to civil works contracts with small, localized impacts. It is accepted that this format provides the key elements of an Environmental Management Plan (EMP) or Environmental Management Framework (EMF) to meet World Bank Environmental Assessment requirements under OP 4.01. The intention of this checklist is that it would be applicable as guidelines for the small works contractors and constitute an Public Disclosure Authorized integral part of bidding documents for contractors carrying out small civil works under Bank-financed projects. The checklist has three sections: Part 1 includes a descriptive part that characterizes the project and specifies in terms the institutional and legislative aspects, the technical project content, the potential need for capacity building program and description of the public consultation process. This section could be up to two pages long. Attachments for additional information can be supplemented when needed. On the basis of article 65 of the Law on Real Estate Cadastre („Official Gazette of Republic of Macedonia”, no. 55/13), the Steering Board of the Agency for Real Estate Cadastre has enacted REGULATION FOR THE MANNER OF CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE CADASTRE MUNICIPALITIES AND FOR DETERMINING THE CADASTRE MUNICIPALITIES WHICH ARE MAINTAINED IN THE CENTER FOR REC SKOPJE AND THE SECTORS FOR REAL ESTATE CADASTRE IN REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA Article 1 This Regulation hereby prescribes the manner of changing the boundaries of the cadastre municipalities, as well as the determining of the cadastre municipalities which are maintained in the Center for Real Estate Cadastre – Skopje and the Sectors for Real Estate Cadastre in Republic of Macedonia. Article 2 (1) For the purpose of changing the boundaries of the cadastre municipalities, the Government of Republic of Macedonia shall enact a decision. (2) The decision stipulated in paragraph (1) of this article shall be enacted by the Government of Republic of Macedonia at the proposal of the Agency for Real Estate Cadastre (hereinafter referred to as: „„the Agency„„). (3) The Agency is to submit the proposal stipulated in paragraph (2) of this article along with a geodetic report for survey of the boundary line, produced under ex officio procedure by experts employed at the Agency. Article 3 (1) The Agency is to submit a proposal decision for changing the boundaries of the cadastre municipalities in cases when, under a procedure of ex officio, it is identified that the actual condition/status of the boundaries of the cadastre municipalities is changed and does not comply with the boundaries drawn on the cadastre maps. -
