PRODUCTION BIOGRAPHIES

DAVID S. GOYER (Executive Producer / Creator)

David S. Goyer is the creator and executive producer of the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” Goyer has earned a reputation for telling character-driven stories adapted from the otherworldly realms of superheroes, fantasy, and the supernatural. His breakout came in 1998 when he wrote the action hit Blade, based on the Marvel Comics property. He went on to serve as executive producer on the 2002 sequel, Blade II, and pulled triple duty as director, writer and producer for the 2006 trilogy finale, Blade: Trinity.

In film, his current projects include: the screenplay for Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice; co-writing ’s remake of Fantastic Voyage; producing the DC property Sandman; co-producing an untitled elevated horror film directed by Marc Munden, under his Phantom Four banner with A24 and Eva Maria Daniels of VisionChaos Productions; and directing Lionsgate’s The Breach, which he developed independently under his Phantom Four banner, along with Lorenzo di Bonaventura. His horror feature, The Forest, co-produced with Lava Bear, distributed by Focus, and starring Natalie Dormer, is set to premiere January 2016.

In TV, Goyer is the creator, director, and executive producer of STARZ’ “Da Vinci’s Demons,” which focuses on the life and adventures of a young Leonardo da Vinci. He also served as Executive Producer of “Constantine,” based on the DC property, for NBC. In addition, he is currently developing “Krypton,” a story that explores the world of Superman’s ancestors, for Syfy. Furthermore, Goyer recently closed a first look deal at Universal Television.

Goyer’s past film credits include collaborating with Christopher Nolan on Dark Knight trilogy, which successfully brought the iconic character back to his origins; his story work with Nolan on the 2nd installment of the trilogy, The Dark Knight, led to a Writers Guild of America Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay. From there, Goyer went on to pen the screenplay for Man of Steel. His past TV credits include the cult-favorite series “Flashforward” on ABC, for which he served as creator and pilot-director.

Goyer has also moved beyond the screen, writing the videogames “Call of Duty: Black Ops” and “Black Ops II.”

In 2002, Goyer made his feature film directorial debut with the drama Zig Zag, for which he also wrote the screenplay based on the acclaimed novel. His other directing credits include The Invisible and the hit supernatural thriller, The Unborn, based on his own original screenplay.

JOHN SHIBAN (Executive Producer / Showrunner)

John Shiban is the executive producer and showrunner on the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” He received his undergraduate degree in English Literature from UCLA and an MFA in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute. Shiban began his career as a staff writer on “The X-Files.” During his stint on the celebrated FOX series, Shiban wrote or co-wrote over twenty episodes and served as Executive Producer by the end of the series’ nine-year run. His writing on “The X-Files” garnered him an Emmy nomination. As a producer, Shiban has also been honored with a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Dramatic Series for “The X-Files.”

Shiban joined AMC's “” as a Consulting Producer in its second season. He penned several episodes of the acclaimed series, received a WGA Award nomination for Episodic Drama for the episode “Phoenix” and wrote and directed season 3’s penultimate episode “Sunset.” On AMC’s “Hell on Wheels” Shiban served as Executive Producer and Showrunner, writing and directing numerous episodes.

Shiban also served as Executive Producer and Co-Creator on the FOX series “” and as Supervising Producer on the FOX series “Harsh Realm.” In addition, he has written for and produced UPN’s “: Enterprise,” the CW Network hit “Supernatural” and the BBC/STARZ co-production “: Miracle Day.”

In addition to running season 3 of the BBC Worldwide/STARZ co-production “Da Vinci’s Demons,” Shiban is also in development on the series “Blackbirds” for STARZ, with Executive Producer David Knoller.

Shiban is also a founding partner in the brand of genre films which has a multi-picture deal with Warner Home Video. He wrote and directed Raw Feed’s premier film, “Rest Stop,” which has become the biggest-selling home-video original in Warner Bros history to date.

Shiban lives in Los Angeles with his wife Janet, son Jerry, three dogs and a cat named Charles.

JANE TRANTER (Executive Producer)

Jane Tranter is an executive producer of the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons” for Adjacent Productions.

In 2009 Jane Tranter moved to Los Angeles and launched BBC Worldwide Productions, a BBC Worldwide production company to make scripted and BBC re-formats for the US television market. In 2012 she launched Adjacent Productions, a sister label that was created to develop and produce original programming. Both companies went on to become leading players in the US television market, producing acclaimed titles such as “Dancing with the Stars” (ABC), “Top Gear” (History), “Life Below Zero” (NatGeo) and “Ladies of ” (Bravo), as well as “Getting On” (HBO), and the forthcoming HBO mini-series “Crime.”

Before coming to the States to head BBC Worldwide’s Los Angeles-based production business, Tranter held the post of Controller of BBC Fiction in the UK. Tranter was responsible for commissioning the BBC’s entire drama, comedy, motion picture and program acquisition output, leading a portfolio of diverse and distinctive productions including “Little Dorrit,” “Criminal Justice,” “Gavin and Stacey,” “Mad Men,” “House of Saddam,” “,” “Rome,” “Blackpool,” “Bleak House” and “State of Play.”

From 2000 to 2006, Tranter was Controller of BBC Drama Commissioning, leading the team that modernized and reinvented the BBC’s drama output. Before that, Jane headed up in-house drama at the BBC working as an Executive Producer on a number of award-winning films, mini-series and series. In 2009 Tranter was the recipient of the BAFTA Special Award in recognition of her outstanding creative contribution to the industry. She is an honorary fellow of Harris Manchester College, Oxford and of the .

MATTHEW BOUCH (Executive Producer)

Matthew Bouch is an executive producer on the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” He is best known for co-devising and producing the award-winning BBC series “Being Human.” After developing shows like “No Angels” for and “Mistresses” for BBC 1, he produced “The Sarah Jane Adventures” for BBC 1 and “My Mad Fat Diary” for E4, both BAFTA nominated.

JULIE GARDNER (Executive Producer)

Julie Gardner is an executive producer of the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons” for Adjacent Productions. Gardner is responsible for scripted drama development for BBC Worldwide Productions, bringing the best of the BBC to US audiences, as well as Adjacent Productions, where she nurtures relationships with top-level writers, to create new and unique dramas for US networks. Since joining BBC Worldwide Productions in 2009, Gardner has served as Executive Producer for BBC Worldwide Productions’ “Getting On” (HBO), “Torchwood: Miracle Day” (STARZ) and “Intruders” (BBC America) as well as Adjacent Productions’ “Da Vinci’s Demons” (STARZ).

Prior to joining BBC Worldwide’s Los Angeles-based production business, Gardner was Head of Drama Commissioning and Head of Drama for BBC Wales. In this role, she was responsible for spearheading the revival of “Doctor Who,” as well as the successful series, “Torchwood” and “The Sarah Jane Adventures.” She also led the production of an unparalleled string of hit dramas including “Life on Mars,” “Ashes to Ashes,” “Being Human,” “Girl in a Café,” “Stuart: A Life Backward,” “Mistresses” and “Casanova,” for which she received a multitude of awards.

Gardner was awarded an MBE in 2014 for her services to television and for her contribution to the industry in Wales.

AMY BERG (Executive Producer / Writer)

Amy Berg is a writer and executive producer on the STARZ Original series STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” She's written for over a dozen television shows including “Person of Interest,” “Eureka,” “Leverage” and “The 4400.” She also created the award-winning digital series “Caper” that premiered on Hulu and YouTube last year. Currently she's executive producing the new STARZ series “Counterpart” starring J.K. Simmons and is in development on several pilots and a feature film.

JESSE ALEXANDER (Co-Executive Producer / Writer)

Jesse Alexander is a co-executive producer on Season 3 of the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” He is currently an Executive Producer on "Agent-X" for TNT.

Prior to that he was an Executive Producer and Consulting Producer on the first two seasons of the critically acclaimed series “Hannibal” for NBC. He was a co-executive producer and writer on the first three seasons of NBC’s epic saga “Heroes” an executive producer on J.J. Abrams’ innovative serial spy drama “Alias.” Abrams then enlisted Alexander to help develop the pilot of ABC’s ground breaking serial adventure “Lost.” He served as a co-executive producer through season one, sharing the Emmy® Award for outstanding drama with his fellow “Lost” producers.

Alexander has been an innovator in the field of transmedia storytelling: the process of extending narrative across multiple media platforms simultaneously. This strategy was critical to the success of “Alias” and “Lost.” The transmedia content he designed for “Heroes” established a new paradigm for how television shows can thrive cross platform. In 2008, Alexander won his second Emmy® Award for the “Heroes” online content.

Alexander has shared his vision of a transmedia future with M.I.T., , NewTeeVee, Game Developers Conference, Microsoft Research, The AFI, SMPTE, UBISOFT, USC, BBDO Energy, and others.

COURTNEY B. CONTE (Co-Executive Producer)

Courtney B. Conte is a co-executive producer on the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” Conte joined BBC Worldwide Productions in 2010 as Chief Operating Officer. He helps develop and manage the company’s business strategy, as well as overseeing production management, administration and operations for both BBC Worldwide Productions and Adjacent Productions scripted and unscripted programming, including the hit "Dancing with the Stars.” Conte also is Co-Executive Producer on “Us & Them”(Fox) and “Getting On” on (HBO).

Prior to joining BBC Worldwide Productions, Conte was Co-President at Carsey-Werner Productions. He was responsible for over 2,000 episodes of primetime television including hits such as “The Cosby Show,” “Roseanne,” “Grace Under Fire,” “3rd Rock From the Sun,” “Cybill,” “Grounded for Life,” and “That 70's Show.” While at Carsey- Werner, Conte was named Senior Vice-President of Production at Oxygen, where he facilitated the launch of the network and led all west coast production.

JOSHUA THRONE (Producer)

Joshua Throne is a producer on the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” He is a frequent guest speaker and panelist at schools and events such as UCLA Film School, Women in Film and Chicago Independent Film Festival.

With over 20 years of experience in film, Throne began his career as an intern on the television series “Sweet Valley High” and quickly moved over to feature films, working for low-budget film legends like Charlie Band, Roger Corman, and Avi Lerner. He was also a part of a division of the Fox Network called Fox Lab, where a small, select group of producers conceived of and shot various pilots for the network.

In 2006 he started a run of mid-to high-budget action/thriller films, including Cleaner starring Samuel L. Jackson and Ed Harris, Beyond A Reasonable Doubt with Michael Douglas, and Sylvester Stallone’s 2010 summer blockbuster The Expendables.

His recent television credits include the STARZ one-hour premium cable drama “Boss,” starring Golden Globe winner Kelsey Grammer.

PETER HOAR (Producer / Director)

Peter Hoar is a director and producer on the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” In 2012 he directed “Shetland,” a two-part thriller for BBC starring Douglas Henshall.

Prior to this, he directed the opening episode of the second season of “Vera,” having previously worked on season one. He also directed the mid-season finale of “Doctor Who” titled “A Good Man Goes to War.” In 2010 he directed the closing block of “Five Days II,” the sequel to the BAFTA-nominated original series written by Gwyneth Hughes. He also directed the opening block of season two of “Silk” starring Maxine Peake and Rupert Penry-Jones.

Prior to that, he directed “Breaking the Mould,” a single drama for BBC4 about the discovery of penicillin, starring Dominic West. His series credits include “,” “Mistresses,” and “Wire in the Blood.”

Hoar is currently filming Marvel’s “Daredevil” for and recently completed “The Last Kingdom” for BBC America.

EDWARD THOMAS (Production Designer Co-Producer)

Edward Thomas is the Production Designer and a Co-Producer on the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” Born in Swansea, Wales, Thomas’ feature film career developed while working across Africa and other parts of the world creating a diverse portfolio of 18 films including the western, Viking, and other family, fantasy, thriller, , period films that include contemporary genres.

On his return to Wales, Thomas took on the task of establishing the art department for “Doctor Who” for seasons one to five, as well as working on the first three seasons of “Torchwood” and “The Sarah Jane Adventures.” He has received much recognition for his work, including Welsh BAFTA and RTS Award nominations for Best Design and a BAFTA nomination for Breakthrough Talent. In 2006, he won a Welsh BAFTA Award for Best Design for his work on “Torchwood.”

Thomas has since returned to Africa, designing “Outcasts” for BBC/Kudos and since then, “United,” for World Productions in Newcastle and “Torchwood: Miracle Day” both in Wales and Los Angeles, plus World Productions’ critically acclaimed “Line of Duty” for the BBC. His most recent Design credit was the Dylan Thomas feature Set Fire To The Stars staring Elijah Wood, and as Executive Producer on Jack to a King - The Swansea Story.

Edward is currently designing for the Resident Evil - The Final Chapter feature film in South Africa.

WILL PASCOE (Co-Producer/ Writer)

Will Pascoe is a Co-Producer and Writer on the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” Originally, hailing from , Will Pascoe has written for ABC’s “Combat Hospital,” FOX’s “The Finder” and BBC America’s hit series “.” His “Orphan Black” script was nominated for a prestigious Hugo Award, an Edgar Allan Poe Award and won a Writer’s Guild award for best television drama script.

PRISCILLA JOHN (Casting Director)

Priscilla John is the Casting Director on the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” She is based in London and works on UK and US feature films and television. Her feature film credits include: currently, Gore Verbinski’s A Cure for Wellness; Maze Runner, Thor: The Dark World, The Wolverine, Captain America: The First Avenger, Gulliver’s Travels, Mamma Mia!, Brideshead Revisited, Miss Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean II and III, About a Boy, Casanova, Saving Private Ryan, Brassed Off, Quills, Little Voice, Amistad, Seven Years in Tibet, Distant Voices Still Lives, and A Fish Called Wanda.

John’s recent television credits include Harlen Cobin's “The Five” for Red Productions & Sky, the third season of Tandem Communications ’“Crossing Lines” written by Frank Spotnitz and crime-drama “Spotless” written by Ed McCardie. Also “Labyrinth,” “World Without End,” “Pillars of the Earth” all for Scott Free and Tandem

PHILLIPA COLE (Line Producer)

Phillipa Cole is the Line Producer on the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” Cole joined BBC Worldwide Productions in 2013 as a Production Manager. She began her producing career on the Channel 4 drama serial “Mosley” and has since worked on a number of productions including the BAFTA-nominated series “The Sarah Jane Adventures” and “Being Human.”

Most recently, she acted as Production Manager for two series of “Doctor Who,” including the 2011 and 2012 Christmas Specials, and the “Doctor Who” 50th Anniversary 3D Special.

ALEX PILLAI (Director, 303 & 304)

Alex Pillai is a director on the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” Alex Pillai has been directing British television drama for 20 years and is based in London. He is known for working with subjects that reflect his Asian background, notably in his feature for BBC Films Flight (1996) which won the FIPA D’Argent and the inaugural EMMA Award. His cinema feature Victim (2011) won Favourite Urban Movie at the 2013 Screen Nation Awards.

Alex was given a break into TV direction by Lenny Henry, who produced his short film about an Indian family called Dreamchild, for BBC2. Fantasy productions for television include the BAFTA nominated first series of “Being Human” (2008), and gothic horror “The Wyvern Mystery” (2000) starring Naomi Watts and Sir Derek Jacobi, as well as “Merlin” (2011) and “Robin Hood” (2009), all for the BBC. Crime dramas include the thriller “The Best Man” (2006) starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Lynda La Plante’s “Trial and Retribution” (2006 and 2007).

Alex is currently shooting drama “Ghost Hunters” for ITV Studios.

MARK EVEREST (Director, Episodes 305 & 306)

Mark Everest is a director on the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” After finishing art college, Mark worked in a small commercials production company in London before going freelance, which enabled him the flexibility of pursuing his own writing projects. As a freelancer he picked up work as a trailer-maker, before taking up a full-time position in the promotions department of Channel 4, making award-winning trailers and on-air idents.

Mark then moved into programme-making as a documentary director, writing and directing films for Discovery, Nat Geo, Channel 4 and the BBC (including 2 BAFTA nominations), before eventually making the move across to drama.

He has directed seven episodes of ITV detective drama “Law & Order: UK” as well as directing episodes of BBC’s “Torchwood” and “By Any Means.” He served as lead director for the 4th and 5th seasons of fantasy drama “Primeval” and season 3 of “Wizards vs Aliens.” Other credits include “Body Farm” and “Frankie.” Mark is currently filming “Silent Witness” for BBC One.

COLIN TEAGUE (Director, Episodes 307 & 308)

Colin is a director on the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” He graduated from the London International Film School and has since gone on to direct many television productions such as “Doctor Who,” “Torchwood” and the Bafta winning “Shirley.”

He served as director on the three-part ITV drama “The Town,” all three series of BAFTA-nominated “Being Human,” and BBC One production “Hustle.”

Most recently he directed episodes of BBC One and STARZ period drama “The White Queen” and French and English co-production “Spotless.” He has also just finished filming the opening episodes on ITV drama “Jekyll & Hyde,” which can be seen Autumn 2015.

His film credits include "Dragonheart, The Sorcerer's Curse,” “The Last Drop,” “Spivs” and “Shooters.”

OWEN MCPOLIN ISC (Director of Photography, Episode 301, 302, 309 & 310)

Owen McPolin is a Director of Photography on the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” A native of Kerry in the West of Ireland, McPolin's interest in film-making began at a young age. He studied fine art and film-making in the UK before he went onto work on the Emmy® award-winning “Little Dorrit” and “Doctor Who” for BBC, the Emmy- nominated “Secret State” for Channel 4, and “The Take” and “The Runaway” for Sky. His most recent credits include shooting much of the second season for John Logans's “Penny Dreadful” for Showtime. He was recently nominated for a BAFTA for his work on Da Vinci’s Demons season two and is currently shooting “Vikings” for History and MGM.

DAMIAN BROLMEY (Director of Photography, Episode 303,304, 307 & 308)

Damian Bromley is a Director of Photography on the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” Recently he has finished work on new BBC TV drama, “The Interceptor” which is due in 2015. He has worked on a number of flagship British shows including, “Strike Back,” “Misfits,” “Hustle” and “Doctor Who.” His work on BBC drama Spooks earned him a BAFTA nomination and saw him win the RTS Award for cinematography.

His feature film credits include; new British horror X-Moor, American revenge sequel I Spit On Your Grave 2 shot in New York and Sofia, 80’s Costa del crime story The Business, psychological horror House of 9 starring Dennis Hopper and The Football Factory, for which he won the Kodak Award for Best Cinematography.

TOBY MOORE (Director of Photography, Episodes 305 & 306)

Toby Moore is a Director of Photography on the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” He has worked on numerous television productions and international films. He worked as DOP on detective dramas “Law & Order: UK,” “Scott and Bailey” and “Death in Paradise.” He also worked on the BBC series “Torchwood” and ITV drama “Mr Selfridge.” His international film credits include Spanish film Slave, US production Stag Night and Warner Brothers’ drama thriller V for Vendetta. Toby most recently worked on the epic “A.D.: The Bible Continues” for NBC.

BEAR McCREARY (Music Composer)

Bear McCreary is the Musical Composer on the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” WIRED Magazine calls Bear McCreary a “Secret Weapon.” His unique combination of atypical instrumental background (he is a professional accordionist) with rigorous classical training prepared him to compose for disparate genres. By the age of 24, McCreary was launched into pop culture history with his groundbreaking score to Syfy’s hit series “Battlestar Galactica,” for which he composed “the most innovative music on TV today” (Variety). It “fits the action so perfectly, it’s almost devastating: a sci-fi score like no other” (NPR). Io9.com declared Bear McCreary one of the Ten Best Science Fiction Composers of all time, listing him alongside legends John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith and Bernard Herrmann. In addition to earning his first Emmy® Award in 2013, McCreary was voted “Composers’ Choice Composer of the Year – Television” by his peers in ASCAP, the first award of its kind.

An Emmy® Award winner for Da Vinci’s Demons, McCreary also composes for “The Walking Dead” (which shattered records with 17.3 million viewers for its fifth season debut), STARZ’s series “Outlander” (for Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore who he previously worked with on “Battlestar Galactica”), Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” – the #1 series debut of the 2013 fall season, the STARZ series “Black Sails,” the Syfy series “Defiance,” and the feature films Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie, Everly and Europa Report. McCreary recently earned his fourth Emmy nomination, his first for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Drama), with “Outlander.”

TRISHA BIGGAR (Costume Designer)

Trisha Biggar is the Costume Designer on the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” Biggar is an award- winning costume designer who has worked on a number of feature films and television dramas with a variety of artists, including Robert Carlyle, Robert Duvall, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Keaton, Alex Kingtson, Christopher Lee, Ewan McGregor, Liam Neeson, Natalie Portman and Rachel Weisz.

Biggar’s film credits include David Mackenzie’s Hallam Foe, Perfect Sense and Stone of Destiny, starring Robert Carlyle and Christopher Lee. She also worked on Peter Mullan’s Magdalene Sisters and all three episodes of the last blockbuster film trilogy.

Her other television credits include Tiger Aspect’s “The Deep” and “The Philanthropist,” ’ “Hope Springs” and “Moll Flanders” directed by David Attwood. In 2012, Trisha was the recipient of BAFTA ’s Outstanding Contribution to Craft Award (in memory of Robert McCann).

JON HENRY GORDON (Hair & Make Up Designer)

Jon Henry is a Hair and Makeup Designer on the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” He has worked on an array of film and television productions. His film credits include 2013 biopic Diana, Steven Spielberg’s war drama War Horse and action adventure film Clash of the Titans. Additionally, he has worked on An Education, Bel Ami and The Young Victoria, for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Achievement in Make Up.

Henry’s television credits include BBC’s period drama production “The Hollow Crown,” NBC’s horror series “Dracula” and HBO’s miniseries “.”

THOMAS HORTON (Visual Effects Supervisor/ Co-Producer)

Thomas Horton is the Visual Effects Supervisor on the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” He has worked internationally with extensive experience in feature film, TV and advertising.

Horton has produced and directed music videos and commercials, for major and international brands; in the early 1990s he owned one of Australia’s leading commercial production companies. He re-launched Saatchi & Saatchi’s in-house creation company, which went on to produce work that won awards at Cannes Advertising Festival, British Music Awards, and more.

Horton has worked on a substantial number of successful film projects including G.I. Joe: Relation, Brighton Rock and Rock of Ages. Undoubtedly, Horton’s work as visual effects supervisor on the multi-Oscar® and BAFTA-winning The King’s Speech will go down as some of his most poignant work.

His work on season two of “Da Vinci’s Demons” earned him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Special Visual Effects and was recently awarded an award for best Digital Effect at the Royal Television Society Craft & Design awards.

PAUL KELLY (Special Effects Supervisor)

Paul Kelly is the Special Effects Supervisor on STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” With more than 20 years of experience, he has worked on popular BBC productions such as “Dalziel & Pascoe,” “Silent Witness,” “Doctor Who,” and “Torchwood.”

Kelly also has extensive experience in film. His credits include the critically acclaimed Bend It Like Beckham, Funny Bones and Two Men Went To War. His work has also featured on high-profile pop music promos for groups such as Spice Girls and Limp Bizkit, as well as commercials for L’Oreal Shampoo, Barbie, and Ford.

Kelly’s work has contributed to performances for the Scottish Opera and productions at the National Theatre and Royal Opera House.

Kelly’s work on “Da Vinci’s Demons” season two was nominated for Best Effects (Special) by the Royal Television Society Craft & Design Awards.

NICK GILLARD (Stunt Coordinator)

Nick Gillard is a Stunt Coordinator on the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” At the age of twelve, Gillard ran away from military school to join the circus and performed horse stunts. Four years later, as he performed with the Moscow State Circus, Gillard was invited to do stunts on The Thief of . He enjoyed it and later left the circus to perform stunt work in films.

He is most widely known for his work as a Stunt Coordinator on Star Wars Episode 1: Phantom Menace, Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith. Other film credits include Wanted, Reign of Fire Sleepy Hollow and Shaft.

Gillard has also worked on television productions including BBC’s “Spooks,” crime drama “Identity” and the popular comedy series “Red Dwarf.”

KEVIN McMANUS & MATTHEW McMANUS (McMANUS BROS) (Writers)

Kevin and Matthew McManus are writers on the STARZ Original series “Da Vinci’s Demons.” They began their careers in indie film. Their first feature, Funeral Kings, was an official selection at SXSW in 2012. The movie went on to win awards and critical success across the country. Their newest film, Slumlord is currently on the festival circuit. They are alumni from Boston's Emerson College and reside in Los Angeles.
