The study area is approximately 10 km in length and illustrated in the key map. The EA study is being conducted in accordance with the Transit Project Assessment Process (TPAP) Ontario Regulation 231/08 in accordance with the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. The study process will involve developing and evaluating alternatives, leading to a Recommended Plan in consideration of the surrounding environmental (social, natural, physical and economic) conditions.     The First Women’s World Ice Hockey Championship and the Emergence of the Routine of Women’s Elite Hockey by Patrick Alexander Reid A thesis submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport and Recreation University of Alberta © Patrick Alexander Reid, 2018 Abstract Ice hockey is Canada’s national winter sport (Government of Canada, 1982). While men’s hockey has been an event in the Olympic Games since 1920, women’s hockey was only added as an event in 1998 (IIHF, 2016). A watershed moment that advanced the growth of women’s hockey was the inaugural Women’s World Hockey Championship (WWHC), held in Ottawa, Canada, in March of 1990. Sociologist Nancy Theberge (2000) proclaimed the event was an important turning point in women’s ice hockey. It proved to be the test event for women’s hockey to be considered for inclusion in the winter Olympic Games, an accomplishment that would contribute to the legitimation of women’s hockey as an elite sport. The purpose of this current research is to investigate the WWHC in detail as a case study. Primary data encompassing the 1990 WWHC files of the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA) were made available for this study with the permission from CAHA president M. Costello. This study benefits from the data sources and insights available by the author who served as the event’s general manager. The historical description of the event utilizing data from the CAHA files corrected some misconceptions previously reported in the literature.

To provide information to support the discussion regarding the disposition process for surplus OCDSB properties. CONTEXT: 2. The OCDSB is a significant owner of public lands in the city of Ottawa. To meet our fiscal obligations in the management of these properties, from time to time our property inventory must be examined to determine what are core or strategic holdings and which properties may have become surplus to our needs as an organization. There is always a balance to be maintained; continuing to own properties affords the OCDSB flexibility to respond to the changing needs and demographics of our organization; however, this flexibility comes at the cost of maintaining these sites. Additionally, there are public expectations that must be taken into account in managing the property portfolio. It is very apparent that we have some Bowls Open wonderful and dedicated volunteers in Ward 9. House On the weekend, we had a great turnout at the park (May 10, 13) clean up that my office organized for Craig Henry Park. I also helped out the Country Place and Police Week Grenfell Glen communities clean up their parks on the weekend. 2014 (May 10-14) I stopped by the Sir Robert Borden High School Garage Sale and saw parents, students and teachers all volunteering. That same day, I helped the Councillor Egli joins Mayor Watson and the owners of Violence volunteers at Knox United Church clean up after World Burger (home of the Ottawa Burger), Tony Against their successful Rummage Sale.
