Teenager name: ??? Description: Teacher/EA models the calendar activity labeling ‘today,’ ‘tomorrow,’ & ‘yesterday’ with picture symbols. Any special events or activities are discussed. Student follow model in they personal binder either crossing off,, stamping or using sticker to mark off the days of the . This information is used to write out the calendar sentence: Today is…… Tomorrow will be… Yesterday was…. Students practice write the calendar sentences on their personal whiteboards.

Description: A group of students go outside, or go to a window. With their personal forecast rings, students choose which weather it is for that day. A magnet is put up in the forecast box. To check the temperature and forecast for the next day, Type into Google: ‘What is the forecast’ and a local forecast will pop up.

A graph can also be made tracking the days in a month of weather

Description: Every day or two News2You posts a world news story. It is a paragraph with symbols describing an interesting in the world. The class reads it together on a projector. A you tube video can then be watched about the news story. The article is then read again after.

Stories can be grouped by subject to have a themed week of top stories. E.g. animals, sports, etc.

Description: A 3-D object is placed in a see through jar with a lid. Students have to make a comment in order for the jar to open. Student can make comments based on 3 descriptors 1. What they see 2. What they want 3. What they think

Communication boards are provided for students who have dificulty expressing orally. Content of the jar can be from a variety of areas, e.g. food, toys, games, bugs etc.

Description: Students rotate the chance to bring something from home. Before sharing, someone helps the student (if needed) ill in the Bring & Brag response template. The student their item to the class use the response sheet as a reference. A picture is taken and added to the template after so that it can go into his class meeting binder. If the student is not able to bring something from home, they can choose something from the school that they like.

Description: A way for students to relect on their day. At the end of the day students cross off, stamp or sticker what activities they completed. Through out the week taking pictures of student doing the different activities and work samples will help them choose what their favourite activity was. The picture can then be printed out and pasted into their agenda books to share with their families.
