Student follow model in they personal binder either crossing off,, stamping or using sticker to mark off the days of the month. This information is used to write out the calendar sentence: Today is…… Tomorrow will be… Yesterday was…. Students practice write the calendar sentences on their personal whiteboards. Description: A group of students go outside, or go to a window. With their personal forecast rings, students choose which weather it is for that day. A magnet is put up in the forecast box. To check the temperature and forecast for the next day, Type into Google: ‘What is the forecast’ and a local forecast will pop up. It is a paragraph with symbols describing an interesting event in the world. The class reads it together on a projector. A you tube video can then be watched about the news story. The article is then read again after. Stories can be grouped by subject to have a themed week of top stories. E.g. animals, sports, etc. How could you make this work for one of your students? Students have to make a comment in order for the jar to open. Student can make comments based on 3 descriptors 1. What they see 2. What they want 3. Before sharing, someone helps the student (if needed) Vill in the Bring & Brag response template. The student present their item to the class use the response sheet as a reference. A picture is taken and added to the template after so that it can go into his class meeting binder.
