DIMITROV, RAMOS-VINOLAS, TROICKI, KHACHANOV IN SEMI-FINALS

SEMI-FINAL PREVIEW: The semi-finals at the Chengdu Open on Saturday are led by No. 3 seed , No. 5 Albert Ramos-Vinolas, No. 6 and unseeded #NextGen star . The 20-year-old Russian is appearing in his first ATP World Tour semi-final.

In the opening match on Stadium Court, Khachanov takes on Troicki for the first time. Khachanov, who is trying to become the first Russian to reach an ATP World Tour final since won Valencia in Oct. 2013, defeated No. 7 seed Joao Sousa in 1R and No. 4 Feliciano Lopez in the QF. Troicki is appearing in his fourth ATP World Tour semi-final of the season (2-1) and he is trying to reach his third final. The 30- year-old Serb attempting to advance to his 10th career ATP World Tour final (3-6). In January, Troicki defended his title in Sydney. He is No. 2 this week in aces (39).

In the next match on, Ramos-Vinolas looks for his first win against Dimitrov, who won both previous meetings on clay. Dimitrov is appearing in his fifth ATP World Tour semi-final of the season (2-2) and he’s aiming to advance to his third final (0-2) and ninth in his career (4-4). The 25-year-old Bulgarian was runner-up in Sydney (l. to Troicki) and Istanbul (l. to Schwartzman). His last title came at 2014 Queen’s Club/London (d. Lopez). Ramos-Vinolas is compiling the best season of his career and he’s appearing in his first career ATP World Tour semi-final on hard courts. The 28-year-old Spaniard captured his first ATP World Tour title in Bastad (d. Verdasco) in July. He is trying to reach his third career ATP World Tour final (1-1). He is one of seven different Spanish winners this year. He is coming off his third career Top 10 win over No. 10 Thiem on Friday.
