ROLEX MASTERS RETURNS FOR FINAL ATP MASTERS 1000 EVENT OF 2020

Geneva, Switzerland, 2 November 2020 – From 31 October–8 November, some of the world’s best male players will return to the French capital to contest the Rolex . This prestigious event is the final ATP Masters 1000 event of the 2020 season and provides the last opportunity to qualify for next month’s Nitto ATP Finals in London, with one singles spot to be filled.

Rolex has enjoyed a long-standing association with this tournament, starting as Official Timekeeper in 2007 and cementing that commitment by becoming Title Sponsor 10 years later.

Staged at the Accor Arena by the banks of the River Seine, the Rolex Paris Masters is renowned for its indoor courts. To be crowned champion here requires unwavering accuracy and high-level performance, qualities that mirror Rolex’s own quest for perpetual excellence in watchmaking and all its other endeavours.

For more than 40 years, Rolex has cultivated a special relationship with tennis, dating back to 1978 when the brand became the Official Timekeeper of The Championships, Wimbledon, the sport’s oldest and most esteemed tournament. ROLEX TESTIMONEES IN PARIS Since that first year of partnership 13 years ago, three Testimonees have lifted the Rolex Paris Masters trophy, with doing so most recently, in 2018. Despite not being seeded in the men’s singles draw, the Russian put on a masterclass, dropping just one set on his way to the final, where he beat the World No. 1 to claim his first ATP Masters 1000 title. In 2011, Federer went one step further, winning this tournament for the first time without losing a single set the entire week, adding an 18th ATP Masters 1000 trophy to a collection that today numbers 28 out of an overall career total of 103 singles titles. Three years earlier, Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga delighted the home crowd to claim a maiden ATP Masters 1000 event.

At this year’s event, reigning Nitto ATP Finals champion Stéfanos Tsitsipás will also be in contention; the Greek has enjoyed a rich run of form in 2020, narrowly missing out on reaching his first Grand Slam final at Roland-Garros in early October.

Other Testimonees competing include of Canada, and of the United States, who seek to win their first ATP Masters 1000 event.
