    District graduation rate hits a new record high Seventeen high schools earn a graduation rate over 90 percent for the second time Dec. 20, 2018 – With a record-high graduation rate of 96.1 in our 19* traditional high schools for the 2017-18 school year, Orange County Public Schools is encouraged by a 2.3 percent increase from the 2016-17 figures. The Florida Department of Education released the 2017-18 graduation rates for the state, school districts, and high schools. Along with our record-high numbers, 17 traditional high schools earned graduation rates above 90 percent, and they were all above 86.5 percent. OCPS now outperforms the state average of 86.1 by 2.8 percentage points. “Our graduation rates are a result of the hard work of our students, teachers, parents and principals. The increase reflects the vision of Orange County Public Schools, to be the top producer of successful students in the nation. We will always strive to improve our graduation rates as we prepare our more than 211,000 students for college and career,” Superintendent Barbara Jenkins said. In addition, 17 schools increased their graduation rates in 2017-18. Edgewater High School increased its rate by 6 percentage points, the largest gain in the district. Key Club International Awards Recipients 34 2 | P a g e 2015 - 2016 Awards and Contests Descriptions *Club Membership Growth provides recognition to individual Key Clubs for exhibiting outstanding club membership growth in a single year. A qualifying club shall be defined as a Key Club in good standing for at least two years. Clubs shall compete with other clubs of similar size within four membership categories based upon membership from the previous year: Bronze, being 35 members or less; Silver, being 46 to 60 members; Gold, being 61 to 85 members, and Platinum, being 86 members or more. Clubs that increase their membership from the previous Key Club year by 10% as of February of the current year will receive a certificate from the Florida District. Key Club International provides recognition to the clubs with the greatest percentage membership growth in the four club size categories. Club Poster (Non-Digital and Digital) provides recognition to Key Clubs that best demonstrate the values of our organization via a poster. Clubs may submit one digital or non-digital poster for judging. The poster must display an original and current design that could be used to promote Key Club. The poster should be designed to recruit new members and should not bear the name of any school, community, or district.
