Gold, silver and bronze medals are available to win. • Gold – champion junior • Silver – reserve champion junior • Bronze – section winners. Marriages have also donated vouchers for all the junior championship row winners.

Birds entered in the selling classes must be pure bred Bantams and in good showing condition and over 16 weeks old.

Entry fees for the selling classes are £3.50 per pen for Members and £4.80 per pen for Non-Members, plus a selling commission of 10%.

Selling will start at 10.00 am Saturday. Selling will stop at 1pm prompt on the Sunday and all birds are to be removed from their pens by 2:30pm.

Prices must be included on the entry form and if not, the Chief Selling Steward must be provided with written prices before 10am Saturday otherwise the birds will be removed from sale and returned to the vendor. Price includes suitable container provided by the seller for the bird(s).

Payment Payment of successful vendors (those that have sold all their entries) will take place at various times during the two-day show. The cash office opening times (located adjacent to the RDBS front desk) for these payments are as follows:

Saturday 12.30 to 1.00PM and 4.30PM to 5.00PM Sunday 10.30AM to 11.00AM and 12.30PM to 2.00PM (final payments)

Please note that the above “opening times” could be subject to change and new times will be announced on the tannoy system on the day.

Final payments for vendors, whether completely sold or otherwise, will be between 12:30PM and 2.00PM on Sunday or by post (on request by a vendor). Part payment of vendors (i.e. for those who have not sold all their entries) will ONLY occur at this time and will be refused without exception at all other times, due to obvious logistical and security issues. Any vendor not paid directly on Sunday, will receive a cheque payment by return of post thereafter.

Important Those entering birds for sale must ensure that they provide a suitable clean box for the buyers to take the purchased bird home, including clean shavings and with the sale pen number clearly indicated on the box.

IT IS A CONDITION OF ENTRY THAT THE VENDOR MUST SUPPLY A TELEPHONE NUMBER ON THE ENTRY FORM AND ON THE BOX SO THAT THE BUYER CAN CONTACT THE SELLER AFTER THE SHOW IF THEY HAVE ANY CONCERNS ABOUT THE BIRDS.

ALL SALES PENS ARE 18 INCH SIZE. Please ensure your birds will fit in this size pen.

SHOW RULES

1 The show will be held under Poultry Club rules. 2 Any birds showing signs of respiratory disease during inspection will be prohibited from entering the gathering. In addition, all other birds from the same owner and/or place of origin will also be excluded. Entry fees will not be refunded when birds are excluded on health grounds. 3 Data protection: your details will be stored on our database and used only in conjunction with the RDBS. 4 The declaration form must be filled in and submitted on the day. 5 All entries to be accompanied by appropriate entry fees. 6 Member’s privileges including reduced penning fees, special entry fees and access to trophies and presentations will only apply to fully paid-up RDBS members (as of 1st February 2020). As such, full membership fees should be included with entries if not already paid-up for such reductions to apply. 7 Exhibits may be taken to the hall between 6pm and 9pm on the Friday prior to the show, or before 9.00 am on the Saturday. Judging will start promptly at 9:30. 8 The committee reserves the right to cancel any class or to amalgamate within the breed should numbers warrant. 9 Exhibitors will not be permitted to un-pen their birds without permission of an authorised steward. A bird may not be handled except by permission of or in the presence of a steward. 10 It is the responsibility of exhibitors to feed and water their birds at all times (water & drinkers will be provided). 11 Any exhibit which in the opinion of the Judge has been fraudulently dealt with will be disqualified and notice of the disqualification given to the Poultry Club Secretary. 12 No exhibitor will be allowed in the vicinity of the Judges at the time of judging and stewards will close gangways if required. 13 Birds entered in the selling classes must be pure bred Bantams and in good showing condition and over 16 weeks old. Selling will start at 10.00am. Those entering birds for sale must ensure that they provide a suitable clean box for the buyers to take the purchased bird home, including clean shavings and with the sale pen number indicated on the box. Selling will stop at 1pm on Sunday and all sale birds are to be removed from their pens by 2:30pm Sunday. 14 It is a condition of entry that the vendor must supply a telephone number for all sales birds on the entry form and on the bird’s box so the buyer can contact the seller after the show if there are any concerns about the birds. 15 Any prize money not collected on Show day will be considered as a donation to the Club. 16 All stock will be checked out by a steward at the close of the show. We aim to box birds at 3pm at which time the exit doors will be locked until all birds are accounted for (at which time the doors will then be re- opened). 17 Responsibility for engraving trophies lies with the exhibitor. All trophies, if taken away from the show, will have to be insured for their full value by the winner. 18 A parent/guardian should remain in close proximity to any entrant in the junior/juvenile handling classes and any judge in this section must have a steward in attendance. 19 PCGB Juvenile Classes for Bronze Awards are open to juniors aged from 5 to 16 years on the day of the show. 20 PCGB Junior Handler classes are open to juniors aged from 5 to 16 years on the day of the show. 21 Exhibitors boxing birds early will be liable for a minimum penalty of one pound per bird. 22 If the show is cancelled after the entry closing date beyond the committees control the first £20 of all entries will be retained by the Society. 23 Whilst every care is taken RDBS cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage incurred from any cause whatsoever. 24 Exhibitors are to show respect to others involved in the show including RDBS Officials, Judges, exhibitors and show spectators. Anyone in breach of this rule will be disqualified and their club membership terminated. Notice of the disqualification will also be given to the Poultry Club Secretary. 25 The terms pullet and cockerel refer to birds hatched on or after 1 January 2019. 26 Please note only standardized breeds and colours can be entered except in non-standard classes. These birds are not eligible for section awards. 27 Bantam eggs are not to exceed 1.5 ounces or 42.5 grams. Judges are not allowed by reclassify eggs.
