ABSTRACT Data from the National Atmospheric Deposition Program’s National Trends Network, the United States Geological Survey’s Rocky Mountain Regional Snowpack Chemistry Program and the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s Air Markets Program were analyzed to identify spatial relationships amongst atmospheric wet deposition concentrations of nitrate and sulfate. The analysis relates atmospheric wet deposition, commonly known as acid rain, to two distinct variables—as a function of elevation and also as a function of proximity to major regional electricity generating stations. This study focuses on the Southern Rocky Mountain region of the United States, and integrates depositional and emissions point-source data from Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. Previous studies have identified wide-ranging adverse effects upon terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems such as nitrogen saturation, changes in plant biodiversity, and soil nutrient cycling where atmospheric wet deposition is the suspected primary means of pollutant transport and delivery. -

Vessel General Permit (VGP) Version 2/5/2009 United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) VESSEL GENERAL PERMIT FOR DISCHARGES INCIDENTAL TO THE NORMAL OPERATION OF VESSELS (VGP) AUTHORIZATION TO DISCHARGE UNDER THE NATIONAL POLLUTANT DISCHARGE ELIMINATION SYSTEM In compliance with the provisions of the Clean Water Act (CWA), as amended (33 U.S.C. 1251 et seq.), any owner or operator of a vessel being operated in a capacity as a means of transportation who: • Is eligible for permit coverage under Part 1.2; • If required by Part 1.5.1, submits a complete and accurate Notice of Intent (NOI) is authorized to discharge in accordance with the requirements of this permit. General effluent limits for all eligible vessels are given in Part 2. Further vessel class or type specific requirements are given in Part 5 for select vessels and apply in addition to any general effluent limits in Part 2. Specific requirements that apply in individual States and Indian Country Lands are found in Part 6. Definitions of permit-specific terms used in this permit are provided in Appendix A. This permit becomes effective on December 19, 2008 for all jurisdictions except Alaska and Hawaii. Executive Summary This survey was a continuation of several years of rare plant survey on San Juan Public Lands. Funding for the project was provided by San Juan National Forest and the San Juan Resource Area of the Bureau of Land Management. Previous rare plant surveys on San Juan Public Lands by CNHP were conducted in conjunction with county wide surveys of La Plata, Archuleta, San Juan and San Miguel counties, with partial funding from Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO); and in 2004, public lands only in Dolores and Montezuma counties, funded entirely by the San Juan Public Lands. Funding for 2005 was again provided by San Juan Public Lands. The primary emphases for field work in 2005 were: 1. revisit and update information on rare plant occurrences of agency sensitive species in the Colorado Natural Heritage Program (CNHP) database that were last observed prior to 2000, in order to have the most current information available for informing the revision of the Resource Management Plan for the San Juan Public Lands (BLM and San Juan National Forest); 2. -

Natural disturbances have a fundamental role in structuring ecological communities, and the study of these processes and extension to novel ecological disruptions is of increasing importance due to global change and mounting human impacts. Numerous studies have demonstrated the importance of natural disturbance in determining basic ecological properties of an ecosystem, including species diversity, membership, and relative abundances of those species, as well as overall productivity. Although estimating ecological metrics at both the species and community level is of critical importance to conservation goals, predicting the impacts of disturbance and disruption, including anthropogenic changes, on ecosystems is a major problem for ecological theory for several reasons. -

DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES Colorado Parks and Wildlife CHAPTER P-1 - PARKS AND OUTDOOR RECREATION LANDS 2 CCR 405-1 [Editor’s Notes follow the text of the rules at the end of this CCR Document.] _________________________________________________________________________ ARTICLE I - GENERAL PROVISIONS RELATING TO PARKS AND OUTDOOR RECREATION LANDS AND WATERS #100 - PARKS AND OUTDOOR RECREATION LANDS a. "Parks and Outdoor Recreation Lands" shall mean, whenever used throughout these regulations, all parks and outdoor recreation lands and waters under the administration and jurisdiction of the Division of Parks and Wildlife. b. It shall be prohibited: 1. To enter, use or occupy Parks and Outdoor Recreation Lands when same are posted against such entry, use or occupancy. (Access to Parks and Outdoor Recreation lands and waters is generally allowed between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. daily. Restricted access generally will be allowed during other hours for camping and fishing.) 2. To remove, destroy, mutilate, modify or deface any structure, water control device, poster, notice, sign or marker, tree, shrub or other plant or vegetation, including dead timber and forest litter, or any object of archaeological, geological, historical, zoological or natural/environmental value or interest on Parks and Outdoor Recreation Lands. (This regulation does not include removal of firewood from designated firewood areas, noxious weeds as defined by statute, or recreational gold mining within the Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area, except where prohibited as indicated by posted signs.) 3. To remove, destroy or harass any wildlife or livestock on Parks and Outdoor Recreation Lands. (Hunting will be allowed in areas designated by the Division during hunting seasons.) CAMPING 4. -
