Patriotiska Sällskapet TRYCKTJÄNST I ESLÖV HB. 2011 Ale 50 år Av Gert Jeppsson Redaktör för Ale. Lund För fe mtio år sedan utkom under hösten 1961 det första numret av Ale. Endast ett häfte hanns med detta år. Eftersom få av dagens Ale-läsare var med vid starten, kan det finnas skäl att i detta jubileumsnummer något blicka tillbaka på det gångna halvseklet och - till att bö1ja med - rekapitulera upptakten. Den år 1961 återuppväckta föreningen De skånska landskapens historiska och arkeologiska förening kom att ledas av kyrkohistorikern, professor Sven Kjöllerström med arkeologipro­ fe ssorn Holger Arbman som vice ordförande. Familjekontinuiteten bakåt till We ibullsläkten och med Ales föregångare stod sekreteraren, dåvarande docenten Jörgen Weibull för. För­ eningens första styrelse såg i sin helhet ut som följer. Tidskriften Ales efternamn var då Historisk tidskrift för Skåne/and, idag som bekant lätt retuscherat till Skåne, Halland och Blekinge i stället för Skåneland. Förste redaktör för Ale - namnet skrevs 196 l ale - blev landsantikvarie Sven Noreen, Kristianstad. Då som nu fanns fyra personer till redaktörens hjälp, en redaktionskommitte bestående av docent Erik Cinthio, Lund, fi l.lie. Sven Körner, Lund, docent Birgitta Oden-Duner, Lund och intendent Gustaf Åberg, Simrishamn. Årsavgiften för föreningens medlemmar fastställdes till I 0 kronor, vilket kan jämföras med dagens 200 kronor. Ale hade fram till 1996 en vinjettbild på omslagets framsida. I det första numret hade Bengt Salomonsson tecknat en historisk karta över Åhus på 1650-talet, med den berömde karto­ grafen Johannes Mejers karta som underlag. Omslaget i övrigt hade komponerats av Harry Kumlin. Den nuvarande typografiska layouten på tidskriftens framsida med elen återkom­ mande F-runan har konstnären Fredrik Reuterswärd skapat. I Nummer I av Ale innehöll elva artiklar fördelade på 44 sidor. Ämnesrubrikernaframgftr av nedanstående inscannade text. INNEHÅLL Tidskriften ALE. Termen historia har tj änat som ett paraplybegrepp med många olika underavdelningar. Därtill kommer att många uppsatser genom åren haft ett internationellt perspektiv involverat i den lokala och regionala historien. Inte minst har det nuvarande Danmark speglats i ämnen som berört landskapens danska tid. Detta har bl a skett när danska historiker fört pennan i Ale. Historiken kring såväl Ales tillkomst 1961 som dess rötter tillbaka till 1860-talet och över den högt kvalificerade produktionen i Historisk tidskrififörSkåne/and I 90 /-/ 92 I tror jag väl belyses genom den allra första artikeln i Ale ( 1961: I). Den är skriven av redaktören Sven E. Noreen, bär titeln Ti dskrifien Ale. En presentation och följer in cxtenso pf1 sid. 4-5 . Vad som inte framgår av Noreens presentation är den roll som dåvarande docenten i historia Jörgen We ibull spelade vid tidskriften Ales tillblivelse. Professor Birgitta Oden, sj älv medlem av den första redaktionskommitten 1961, skriver explicit i sin in memoriam-teckning över Jörgen We ibull 1999 (Ale 1999: I): »Det var Jörgen We ibull som 1961 väckte föreningen ur dess törnrosasömn och därmed instiftade tidskriften Ale, Historisk tidskrift för Skåneland». Hans insats belönades också med det hitintills enda hedersledamotskapet i föreningen. Den 2 som mera i detalj vill studera föreningens historia och betydelsefulla äldre vetenskapliga publikation anbefalles varmt att läsa Jörgen We ibulls tryckta årsmötesföredrag, hållet vid för­ eningens 100-årsjubileum i maj 1966 (Ale 1966:2). Där ger han en utförlig översikt alltifrån sin farfars, professor Martin We ibulls, initiativtagande till föreningen 1866 fram till Ale 1966. En bibliografisk förteckning över den äldre utgivningen fi nns tryckt i registernumret Ale 2002:4. Avslutningsvis vill jag redovisa några faktakring Ale, uppställda i punktform - Ale utgavs med tre häften per år tom 1976. Sedan 1977 utkommer fyra häften årligen. Anledningen till ändringen var det faktum att det krävs minimum fyra häften per år för att få räknas som periodisk tidskrift och därmed vara kvalificerad att eventuellt erhålla stöd från Yetenskapsrådet. - År 1990 inträdde Landsarkivet i Lund som medutgivare. Där har Ale numera också tillgång till redaktionella fac iliteter. - Inkluderat detta jubileumsnummer har Ale hitintills utkommit med 186 häften. Därav har flera varit tematiska. Innehållet har gjortssökbart och lättillgängligt i fyra registernummer. Det senaste är Ale 20 1 1 :3. - Det totala antalet artiklar som publicerats fram till idag är imponerande 768. Sedan 2009 avslutas artiklarnamed en summary. - Redan några år efter starten 1961 var antalet medlemmar uppe i nästan 700 och däromkring har medlemstalet mestadels pendlat, så även idag. - Sidantalet i vaije häfte stannar numera vid 32, beroende på rådande portogränser vid distributionen och föreningens begränsade ekonomi. Ibland innehåller ett nummer 36 eller 40 sidor, men då har papperskvaliten måst nedgraderas, för att maxvik ten inte skall över­ skridas. - Ale tryckes i 900 och ibland I 000 exemplar. Utöver distributionen till medlemmarna skickas ett betydande antal friexemplar ut till vetenskapliga bibliotek, arkiv och museer. - Ale når även utanför landets gränser. Ett sj uttiotal utrikesförsändelser går ut med varje nytt nummer till för närvarande nio länder. Självklart är de flesta av dessa adresserade till Dan­ mark. Ett tj ugofemtal större bibliotek och arkiv i Europa får Ale. - Vad gäller ekonomin kan nämnas att tidskriften va1je år erhåller avkastningen från Skånska fonden, som Lunds universitet förvaltar. Likaså inflyter nästan årligen bidrag från Veten­ skaprådet, som via utvärdering av oberoende forskare också kontrollerar att Ale håller förväntad vetenskaplig nivå. Tämligen ofta har även Kockska stiftelsen och Gyllenstiernska Krapperupsstiftelsen visat generositet mot Ale. Det ovan nämnda föredraget av Jörgen Weibull 1966 har en visionär avslutning, i det att före­ dragshållaren för tanken framåt mot De Skånska Landskapens historiska och arkeologiska förenings 200-årsjubileum år 2066. Dessförinnan infaller emellertid ett annat jubileum -Ales I 00-årsjubileum 206 1 ! 3 Tidskriften Ale En presentation De skånska landskapens historiska och särskilda institutioner, och den gamla arkeologiska förening har ett tradi­ föreningen förde en allt mer tynande tionsrikt förflutet.     Creating Holy People and People Places Holy on theCreating Periphery Creating Holy People and Places on the Periphery A Study of the Emergence of Cults of Native Saints in the Ecclesiastical Provinces of Lund and Uppsala from the Eleventh to the Thirteenth Centuries During the medieval period, the introduction of a new belief system brought profound societal change to Scandinavia. One of the elements of this new religion was the cult of saints. This thesis examines the emergence of new cults of saints native to the region that became the ecclesiastical provinces of Lund and Uppsala in the twelfth century. The study examines theearliest, extant evidence for these cults, in particular that found in liturgical fragments. By analyzing and then comparing the relationship that each native saint’s cult had to the Christianization, the study reveals a mutually beneficial bond between these cults and a newly emerging Christian society. As well as the digital methods increasingly used to analyze such patterns. Using FMIS databases and LIDAR-elevation data it analyses the long, spread out lines of runestones visible in the landscape through GIS spatial- statistics analysis, as well as least cost path analysis, and simultaneously evaluates the combination of the runestones and said tools, as a method for studying Viking Age infrastructure. The statistical part of the analysis includes all of the Scanian runestones, and compares the organization grade (z-score and k-function) of the Scanian runestones to the organization grade of the Scanian milestones; the organization grade of the Gotland mile- and runestones are briefly discussed as a comparative material. The results of this analysis indicate a very high level of organized clustering within Scanian runestone context, one comparable to the level of organization we see among the Gotland Milestones.

    Inventory of the medieval choir stalls in Scandinavia Denmark Catholicism reached the Danish coast around 960 AD. The last three Viking kings embraced the new faith and Denmark gradually became a Christian monarchy. With this, the Viking period came to an end. The Swedish provinces nearest to Denmark today – Skåne, Blekinge and Halland – were at that time also part of the Danish realm.1 Between 1520 and 1540, the Reformation wiped out Catholicism in Scandinavia and many church buildings were adapted to the demands of the new faith. From then on, religion was an affair of the Crown. In Denmark that resulted in Catholic murals being whitewashed (they have been uncovered since the end of the 19th century) and Catholic interiors being removed from churches. Much of that has now disappeared. In the larger churches, choir stalls continued to be used, but as school desks for boys from the Latin school.     lutheranworld.org JOINT ECUMENICAL COMMEMORATION TO BE HELD IN LUND CATHEDRAL AND MALMÖ ARENA GENEVA/VATICAN CITY 1 June 2016 – The joint Lutheran-Catholic ecumenical commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation on 31 October in Lund, Sweden will consist of two parts. It will begin with a liturgy in Lund Cathedral and continue with a public event at Malmö Arena that will be open to wider participation. The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) and Roman Catholic Church joint event will highlight the 50 years of continuous ecumenical dialogue between Catholics and Lutherans and the joint gifts of this collaboration. The Catholic-Lutheran commemoration of 500 years of the Reformation is structured around the themes of thanksgiving, repentance and commitment to common witness. The aim is to express the gifts of the Reformation and ask forgiveness for division perpetuated by Christians from the two traditions. Lund Cathedral will be the venue for the common prayer service based on the recently published Catholic-Lutheran “Common Prayer” liturgical guide that is based on the report From Conflict to Communion. Malmö Arena will be the stage for activities focusing on the commitment to common witness and service of Catholics and Lutherans in the world. Highlights of the joint work of LWF World Service and Caritas Internationalis will be featured, including care for refugees, peace building, and advocacy for climate justice. The arena can host up to 10,000 people. Pope Francis, LWF President Bishop Dr Munib A. Younan and LWF General Secretary Rev. Dr Martin Junge will lead the common prayer service in Lund and the event in Malmö in cooperation with leaders from Church of Sweden and the Catholic Diocese of Stockholm.
