Movie Review- by Zack Roddy Editor

Currently number one at the box-office with over seventy million dollars in its opening weekend, Disney and 's newest computer-animated adventure, The Incredibles, has opened to theaters everywhere. The newest movie from film maker , whose last picture was the 1999 cult classic The Iron Giant, serves as writer and director on this project. The first Pixar film to ever let an outsider from the studio write and direct, and the longest computer animated film to date, at 115 minutes, every aspect about this film is, quite frankly, incredible. The film features the voice talents of big stars such as Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Samuel L. Jackson, Jason Lee, Spencer Fox, Sarah Vowell, and even director Brad Bird himself. Among the films plot lines are superheroes, super-villains, family, and a mid-life crisis. The film opens with the world's greatest superhero, Mr. Incredible (Nelson), whose superpowers include super strength, having just married his girlfriend and fellow superhero, Elastigirl (Hunter) whose power is stretching her body in to all kinds of positions. After saving a man from committing suicide, the man sues Mr. Incredible for being such a do-gooder, and the lawsuit soon turns into a big scandal, and the people of the cities no longer want superheroes to save the day anymore. All the superheroes of the world are put into the witness protection program and are forbidden to use their superpowers ever again. Fifteen years later, Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl, otherwise known as Bob and Helen Parr, have settled into a quiet suburban home with their three children: their loner daughter, thirteen-year-old Violet (Vowell), whose power is invisibility, their hyperactive ten-year-old son Dash (Fox), whose power is super speed, and baby Jack-Jack who appears to be the only normal person in the family. Bob's new job is a paper pusher at an insurance company by day, and secretly a vigilante by night with former superhero and Bob's best friend, Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson). On the verge of a mid-life crisis by trying to cope with a normal life, Bob receives a mysterious telegram from a mysterious benefactor informing him he has the chance to become a superhero again. Excited by the thought of having an extraordinary life again, Bob immediately accepts the deal. He soon discovers that the mysterious benefactor is a new villain named Syndrome (Jason Lee), and when Syndrome hatches a plot for world domination, the only people who can help Mr. Incredible are his family. The Incredibles is an excellent film, and Pixar's best film to date. The special effects are amazing, and the voice casting was perfect. Brad Bird’s script was not only funny, but very creative and imaginative. The best character in the film by far is Edna Mode, a sarcastic, midget costume designer for superheroes, played by Brad Bird himself. Definitely see The Incredibles. It is a great film to see with the whole family, or just your friends. The film is rated PG for action violence.
