Among these, we think that pragmatic, corpus and terminological approaches are mandatory in the analysis of the Christian sacred text. Accordingly, the current paper aims to analyse it from both a semantic and pragmatic perspective, coupled with a terminological one, the ultimate goal being to fully grasp the process of translation of the sacred text, which is a field in itself. The dynamic interfaces of translation will be revealed through the investigation of individual words, phrases and synonymic pairs. This interdisciplinary approach to the sacred text, aiming at deciphering the denotation as well as the overtones of connotation, is likely to contribute to an error-free translation. Keywords: sacred text, semantic, pragmatic, translation, terminology, interdisciplinary 1. Preliminary considerations From the linguistic perspective and also from the terminological one, the Christian sacred texts have an inexhaustible value, this type of texts being likely to be explored and exploited from a variety of standpoints. The richness of meanings and paradigm, the beauty of expressions and the originality of the phrase prevail in the general context and are a unique heritage over the centuries. The Bible or the Holy Scripture is the main and the most important Book of Christianity. Besides the great legacy, the message of the Bible has been submitted to various interpretations from a linguistic perspective (semantic, pragmatic and translation undertakings) [1] (p. 230). Consequently, any modality of approaching the sacred text has become a real test to penetrate beyond the letter, in the spirit of unveiling the symbolical meaning and hidden ideological agenda. To our best knowledge, linguistic and translation-oriented approaches to 5 JOURNAL OF YOUNG RESEARCHERS SOCIAL SCIENCES, ARTS AND HUMANITIES, YEAR III, NO. 1/2020 the sacred text (most particularly to the Bible) are scarce, at least in the research landscape in Romania. 2. Statement of the problem The focal point of our research is the identification of translation possibilities of different English and Romanian versions of the sacred text by analysing the unit of translation, which ranges from lower rank units (lexeme) to higher rank units (the phrase, sentence and even the text). Our personal experience regarding the proposed research can be related to some previous theological translations from English and Romanian. Therefore, the additional readings have given us the possibility to get acquainted with the theological language and also to better comprehend the sacred text. Our research is based on a number of research questions which are subject to analysis and consideration: 1. What are the specific traits of the sacred text? 2. What is the pragmatic value of the sacred discourse? 3. What are the main challenges of the translation of the sacred text? 4. How far will a comparative/contrastive approach to the English and Romanian sacred text reveal about the socio-cultural and translation constraints? 3. Field and Directions of Research The Christian sacred text can acquire many values and valences due to the approaches and different frameworks of interpretation. For instance, a key of interpretation which the translator must take into account will integrate the understanding of the contextualised and figurative meaning. Moreover, the technical value of interpretation of the sacred text should be regarded in connection with what is “true” and “eternal”. In this respect, there is a number of “approved” possibilities of interpretation of Jesus Parables, their true meaning needs be systematically unearthed, beyond the scholar doctrine or the teaching value. Therefore, our research proposes two main analysis frameworks and directions: a. the first one underpins the multi-layered linguistic approach to the sacred text, dealing with the semantic analysis, pragmatic investigation and critical discourse analysis. For the current purpose, from the pragmatic standpoint the focus will be on time deixis. In our opinion, complementing the pragmatic approach by corpus linguistics research is justified by the fact that the former follows the function-to-form route - which means that the point of departure is a language function (e.g., illocution) and the objective is to investigate its formal realizations, whereas the latter is based on a form-to-function approach where linguistic forms

SUMMARY In their pursuit to create the Romanian literary language and bring Romanian orthography closer to that of Latin, genuine philologists and noted connoisseurs of the history of the Romanian language, representatives of the cultural movement known under the name of Şcoala Ardeleană (The Transylvanian School), tried to elaborate a system of spelling based on the etymological principle. The use of the Latin alphabet in writing was regarded as an imperious necessity to support the idea of the Latin origin of the Romanian language and of the Roman origin of the Romanian people – ideas which animated the scholars of the Transylvanian School. The Cyrillic alphabet had been in use for four hundred years. Not only did this make Romanian spelling difficult, but it also inadequately represented many of the sounds of the Romanian phonemic system and the Latin structure of the language. The efforts of the Transylvanian representatives of the Enlightenment met the approval of all men of letters; nevertheless, as the etymological principle in writing would have required good knowledge of Latin, the phonetic principle prevailed after a series of debates that lasted more than two centuries. After 1989, when the political regime changed in Romania, the Romanian Academy decided to revert the Romanian spelling regarding the use of î/â /ɨ/ and the present tense forms of the verb ‘to be’ to some former rules, cause of further debates which, in some respects, still continue.

The seminar would eventually turn out to be a site of tough debates between the few of us who thought that in order to achieve stability in the Balkans the states in the region had to openly acknowledge the errors of their past policies on national and religious minorities, and the representatives of international organizations, safe in their cushy jobs and supported by an army of opportunists (some of which had penetrated even the NGOs). Nevertheless, I remember the elaboration of resolutions, the battle for their adoption, the statements and discourses pouring out from one side or the other as a passionate confrontation in a world governed by interests but fortunately also by rules. On that day of October 2, 1998, I was roaming the streets of the Hungarian capital together with Anna Nagy, assistant to the Romanian head of the Department for the Protection of National Minorities. We were waiting for a fax. We had learned the day before of the dramatic government session held during the night between September 30 and October 1. In a moment of inspiration, minister Gyorgy Tokay had proposed, at about 2 o’clock in the morning, the establishment of a bilingual university (later known as the Petöffi-Schiller University). Imaginative and possessed of a great sense of crisis-management, Tokay had found a compromise solution.

    Networks and Institutions in Europe’s Emerging Markets Do ties between political parties and businesses harm or benefit the development of market institutions? The post-communist transition offers an unparalleled opportunity to explore when and how networks linking the polity and the economy support the development of func- tional institutions. A quantitative and qualitative analysis covering eleven post-socialist countries combined with detailed case studies of Bulgaria, Poland, and Romania documents how the most successful post-communist countries are those in which dense networks link polit- icians and businesspeople, as long as politicians are constrained by intense political competition. The comparison of original network data sets shows how this combination allowed Poland to emerge with stable institutions. Bulgaria, marred by weak institutions, corruption, and violence, cautions us that in developing economies intense political competition alone is harmful in the absence of dense personal and ownership networks. Indeed, as Romania illustrates, networks are so critical that their weakness is not mitigated even by low political competition. Realizatorii şi prezentatorii îşi imaginaseră că 98,3 la sută dintre telespectatorii români au insomnii, umblă pe acoperişuri şi se sinucid fiindcă li se transmit prea puţine glume idioate, gaguri ieftine, sau poante la care se râde sub ameninţarea Kalaşnikovului. După această noapte de revelion, viaţa va intra în normalul ei şi nu vor mai fi nici probleme de ordin demografic, pentrucă spontaneitatea nu mai este ucisă de programe rigide, iar marile valori artistico-umoristice nu mai sunt sugrumate în mod barbar sistematic. Dezlănţuirea neputinţelor a fost superbă, ba nu, de-a dreptul de comă… Ceea ce s-a şi întâmplat cu soacra lui Haralampy la ora zero şi-un minut după ce a sărutat micul ecran fix în dreptul răcnetelor domnului preşedinte Băsescu în Piaţa Universităţii. Moment care a emoţionat-o atât de profund, încât a mai sorbit de două ori din paharul cu vin în care se afla pălincă „de 70”, oferit cu parşivenie de Haralampy şi a plecat spre casă ieşind pe uşa de la balconul nostru fără balustradă… Am vrut să-i atrag atenţia, însă prietenul a strigat: - Mă, bade, e fericită şi-i bunul meu – nu te băga!… … Domnul preşedinte continua să urle „în direct” spre mulţime asemenea unui viteaz căpitan de cursă lungă aflat pe coverta unui vas în derivă1, spre echipajul duhnind a rom „Jamaica”… Dar cine mai avea timp să se teamă de-un eventual naufragiu?
