V765/1 List of Vehicle Owners Clubs N.B. The information contained in this booklet was correct at the time of going to print. The most up to date version is available on the internet website: www.gov.uk/vehicle-registration/old-vehicles 8/21 V765 scheme How to register your vehicle under its original registration number: a. Applications must be submitted on form V765 and signed by the keeper of the vehicle agreeing to the terms and conditions of the V765 scheme. A V55/5 should also be filled in and a recent photograph of the vehicle confirming it as a complete entity must be included. A FEE IS NOT APPLICABLE as the vehicle is being re-registered and is not applying for first registration. b. The application must have a V765 form signed, stamped and approved by the relevant vehicle owners/enthusiasts club (for their make/type), shown on the ‘List of Vehicle Owners Clubs’ (V765/1). The club may charge a fee to process the application. c. Evidence MUST be presented with the application to link the registration number to the vehicle. Acceptable forms of evidence include:- • The original old style logbook (RF60/VE60). • Archive/Library records displaying the registration number and the chassis number authorised by the archivist clearly defining where the material was taken from. • Other pre 1983 documentary evidence linking the chassis and the registration number to the vehicle. If successful, this registration number will be allocated on a non-transferable basis. How to tax the vehicle If your application is successful, on receipt of your V5C you should apply to tax at the Post Office® in the usual way. -

Production Data 83 Production Dates & Commission Numbers When ordering parts, it is essential that you identify your car exactly, by model year and serial number. Since many part changes were made during model years, the commission number, engine number and body number provide the only positive identification. Quite often a car’s title will not show the correct model year. Before ordering parts, please record the applicable numbers from your car. Using these numbers is the best way to ensure that you order and receive the correct parts. THE TRIUMPH Spare Parts Manufacturers' Codes, MAYFLOWER Equivalents & Alternatives CLUB January 2020: V.10 | Paul Burgess This is a list of Mayflower parts with manufacturer part numbers and other vehicles the parts may have been used on. There are also suggestions of possible alternative parts which may do the job. The entries include the Stanpart numbers and page numbers from 'The Triumph Mayflower Spare Parts List' published by The Standard Motor Co. Ltd. The list has been compiled in good faith from various sources including the internet and back copies of the club magazine Flower Power and as such the TMC cannot take responsibility for the accuracy of any entries in the list. TRIUMPH 1800-2000 Renown Saloon the Triumph 1800-2000
TRIUMPH 1800-2000 Renown Saloon The Triumph 1800-2000 Saloon known as the “Razor Edge” due to its straight angular panels and sharp profile was built between 1946 and 1953. It was a post war car built to pre-war specifications i.e. a separate chassis, with the body built up as a traditional ash frame and styling that dated back to the late 1930’s. The sedan copied the Rolls Royce and Bentleys of the time in its styling, and was one of the first cars to be stretched to make a limousine, complete with glass partition behind the driver. Initially the vehicle was fitted with a 1776cc four-cylinder engine developing 65bhp which in 1948 was enlarged to 2088cc (still only producing 68bhp) and had a top speed of around 80mph. Late models had overdrive as an option on their 3-speed gearboxes and the Renown appeared as an upgraded 2000 Sedan in 1950. The car was not a commercial success however as despite its luxurious appointments, it was always too expensive, compared to its competition and in the British post-war ‘export or die’ atmosphere less than 10% of the total production of 15,400 were exported. TRIUMPH MAYFLOWER The Mayflower was introduced in 1949 and was Triumph’s first post war “small” car. The razor edge lines allowed excellent space utilisation enabling four adults to fit in with ease. It was one of the first cars to feature the “modern” trend of a large glass area, and the square boot handled a full compliment of luggage. -

OUT WITH LOTHAR KLEMENTZ AGAIN Classic Car gatherings are actually very popular in Germany. This one was held in a small village of Dreieichenhain, quite close to Frankfurt/M for the 14th time last Sunday May 15th (open Sunday for the local shops). Our Renown was positioned in front of a timber-framed building adjacent to the booth of a shop selling home appliances. This shop is strongly customer orientated. As you can see they even customised the fridge according to the provenance of the Renown. I am writing to tell you of a photograph I found whilst sorting out some odds and ends. The photograph was of my grandfather’s Triumph Razor edge and was taken in 1957. Seeing a picture of his old car brought back memories of numerous holidays and day trips all taken in his wonderful Triumph. So, curiosity getting the better of me, I decided to look on the internet to find out if any of these wonderful cars remained , which is how I found TROC. Whilst looking at your webpage, I noticed you had some photographs of past rallies. When I reached your 2006 anniversary Rally, I clicked on the picture DSC.0096 and to my amazement; there was granddad’s old car, registration number FMW 479. -

THE GLOBE VOL 40 NO 1 APRIL 2014 The Renown that nearly was TRIUMPH RAZOREDGE OWNERS’ CLUB LIMITED THE GLOBE VOL 40 No 1 APRIL 2014 EDITORIAL We welcome the first warm days of sunshine, and the end of that interminable rain; we help the domestic goddess get the covers off the sofa for spring-cleaning; but most of all we awaken the Razoredge from its hibernation, ready for – hopefully – a fine summer of interesting visits, occasional outings, and just the sheer joy of driving a great classic, enjoying the smiles on the faces of those lucky enough to see us go by. If your plans for the summer can include a visit to the heart of England on Sunday July 13th, then please do come along to the TROC Annual Rally at Shifnal. If you can bring your car and make a day, or a weekend, of it, then that would be simply brilliant; but even without the car it’s a chance to meet other members and share in the ambience. There is a brief article on page 22 developing this theme. We also have an outing further south this year: the Standard Triumph Marque event returns to Brooklands on June 22nd, and TROC will have a number of cars there – see our Events Guide and the back cover of the magazine for more details, but if you are able to come along in your car, please let Chris Hewitt know, so we can be sure to have enough space.
