Homecoming week at Parkview will begin on Tuesday, October 21 with “Spirit Week.” Friday, October 24 will be the night of the homecoming game and Saturday, October 25 will bring the week to a close with the homecoming dance. Spirit Week will consist of a series of dress up days, beginning on Tuesday, October 21. Last year’s dress up days included College Day, Hawaiian Day, and Orange and Blue Day. Spirit Week enables the student body to show their spirit and have fun at the same time. Parkview is scheduled to play Norcross at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 24. During this halftime period of the game the Homecoming Court, which was elected by the student body in early October, will be presented and the Homecoming Queen, chosen from the court, will be revealed. Homecoming week will conclude with the Homecoming dance on Saturday, October 25. The Homecoming dance is sponsored by Parkview’s Stu- dent Council. The cost for the dance is $4 for a single ticket and $6 for a couple ticket, in advance. Advance tickets may be purchased during lunch and from any Student Council member at any time prior to the dance. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door; the prices [will be] $4 for a single ticket and $8 for a couple ticket. This year a new picture procedure will be followed. Sittings for pictures will now be off ered before the dance for the couples wishing to have HOMECOMING QUEEN their pictures taken before they go to dinner. Couples will also have the opportunity to have their pictures taken during the dance. The couples wishing to have their pictures taken before the dance must make a reservation with a Student Council member. These reservations may be made at Nyat Amanuel the time of ticket purchase. The cost for pictures will be $10 or $15 depending on the size of the packet. The music for the dance will be provided by Vibrations, a team of disc jockets. Vibrations has provided music for many of Parkview’s dances. The theme for Homecoming ‘86 is “The Stars Are Out Tonight.” Each year a banner contest is held, in which clubs enter a cloth banner that ex- emplifi es the club’s interpretation of the Homecoming theme. The banenrs are judged by people not affi liated with Parkview. The winning banner will be hung at the Homecoming dance.
