What is a cookie and why do you need it?

This cookie is not a dog biscuit :o) It is small data file that is placed on your computer. This lets the secure database remember you and your password. So your "browser" must be "enabled" to receive at least "1st party cookies". Examples of "browsers" are Explorer, , AOL, Chrome, , and . A "browser" is the software program used by your computer to access and display web pages, navigate from one to another, print web pages, open and display files etc. When you type a address such as http://www.samoyedhealthfoundation.org/ and hit enter or go, the "browser" takes you where you want to go on the web.

How do I know which browser I am using?

To find out which browser and you are using, click on the "Help" button at the top of your browser and a dropdown list will appear. At the bottom of the dropdown list, it will say "About [your browser name]". Click on that and it will have the browser and version you are using.

What is a "1st party cookie" and is it a privacy concern?

No, a "1st party cookie" is a tool to your use of the database safe and secure. 1st party cookies protect you to make sure no one else is using your password to enter the secure database. 1st party cookies will identify you for future sessions by remembering your address and password.

How do I enable cookies in my browser?

To enable cookies, follow the instructions below for the browser version you are using.
