SPIN 6 • Stop light on 1709 switch from green to red even when no cars are on the side streets. This even happens during nor rush hours. We sure could use a good quality rec/community center. 1

SPIN 9 • I believe the keep Southlake beautiful volunteer trash pick up program is working. we adopted a street and the amount of trash has decreased significantly from our first trash pick up. • Need more books in library- children and adult

SPIN 1 • I'm not sure if this is the proper place to state this, but I'll use it anyway. I, like almost everyone, am very concerned about the safety of our childern and this includes traffice control. However, I believe some reason needs to be applied when posting school zone speed limits. The zone I am referring to is the one for the Clariden School (Private School) on North White Chappel. This school is located across from Bob Jones park. I drive through that zone several times most days, and have done so on numerous occasions while the 20 mph like is active. I do not believe one single student crosses that , and I mean not one. That school zone makes no sense. All kids are taken to the school in private cars and deposited at the front and picked up from the front of the building. They do not have school crossing guards for a reason. They are not necessary because no one crosses the street on foot. I believe a review should be made to determine if a school zone is necessary. 1 • Given that we live in Kirkwood Hollow, we routinely see cars on the access road going faster than exiting 114 to Dove. The Red light at Dove and 114 is at times is viewed as more of a suggestion than a traffic signal. Additionally the speeds on Dove and White Chapel are well above 35mph at various times. • Get rid of the red light cameras OR correct them so that the camera can recognize a complete stop. • School zones should have a cop on hand during school zone flashing times. I see speeders all the time on Shady Oaks in front of Durham.

SPIN 2 • Cars stopping at stop signs for pedestrians in Town Square is a major problem. They barely stop, they stop in the crosswalk or don't get you the right of way. • Signage is ineffective, these community at large seems not to care and the police can only enforce some of these signs which is an absolute cause for concern. • Asphalt overlays start and stop in random pieces. Eventually they start to crack and break. The striping on Carroll Rd. did not last long. The construction of the roundabout allowed cars to cut through the neighborhood. Many failed to stop at the lonely stop sign. Signs were posted but not obeyed. 1 • I'd like to see the City re-visit speed limits on such as North Carroll, where 30 mph seems too low and results in the majority of traffic

"speeding" on a regular basis. Increasing speed limits to even 35 mph would improve north/south access through Southlake. • Can't wait for improvements to Dove Rd. Speeding on this road is pretty bad as well. The road striping on White Chapel (next to Central Market) needs to somehow be clearer, I see a lot of "almost" accidents at this spot. Thank you for increasing the speed limits on the side roads of 114, it makes more sense to have it the same speed at 1709. 1 • The Cell phone proscription in school Zones is ludicrous. Are you allowed to carry on conversation with someone in the car? Are you allowed to drink a beverage while driving in the car? Foolish nanny state ordinance. The issue should be exercising proper control of the moving vehicle. • Thank you for adding the Roundabouts in various parts of town! Great idea and executed well at Carroll and Dove. Looking forward to using the Whites chapel and Dove Roundabout next year! Make More roundabouts! Thanks* Please inform police to operate radar while driving thru residential neighborhoods and ticket speeders. Especially in the evening/dusk hours when visibility is poor and pedestrians may be caught off guard by speeding cars1 • As noted above our roads seem in constant disrepair or when asphalted, poorly done (patched and quickly disintegrate). I feel that police ought to be out on the streets; often I see several police cars parked at the station. The volunteer patrol is a great idea and a crime deterrent. Police are often at school zones during flashing times and that is a credit to them. I believe the new cars in SL for the police are cheap and certainly belie the high quality living in SL compared to the vehicles used by the Grapevine police. 1 • Neighborhood has been infiltrated with speeding cars "cutting" through Emerald Estates. Not safe to take walks/runs. Sure has affected personal exercise schedule. • 1. Bicyclist riding on Dove Road. This is a huge problem that needs to be addressed. This is a skinny winding 2 lane road and cyclists or groups of them make the road extremely dangerous. I have had to compromise my families safety on many occasions from either hitting the cyclist or having to run into the ditch because of other oncoming traffic trying to pass the cyclist. If a car is afraid to go around then it holds traffic up. I am surprised no one complains about this issue. 2. Street drainage. There is always standing water on the street in our neighbor. 3. Sidewalks. My kids can not walk to school (Johnson Elementary) because there are no sidewalks which continue from our neighborhood down to the school. In addition during school rush hour at the middle school kids are crossing the street just wherever. Where are the crossing guards? 1

• A is necessary in front of the high school for safety. The parents refer to the entering and exiting of the high school as running the gauntlet. • The traffic camera's are a problem. The yellow lights vary so much in terms of length of time they are yellow it sometimes forces one to slam on the brakes to avoid getting a camera ticket. With a speed of 40+ MPH on Southlake Blvd there are some places where it would be safer to miss the yellow light than to slam on your brakes to ensure you don't get a camera ticket. • You will have a either a really bad accident or a child will be hit on McCrae Trail and Palo Duro if you do not enforce the stop sign. It is only a matter of time. I have seen to many near misses on both areas over the past 4 years I have lived here. A couple of the neighbors, as well as my self, have called multiple times. We get monitoring for one or two days and then it stops.

SPIN 3 • North Carroll should be raised to 40 mph. Coming down the hill from 114 to Johnson is vey difficult to maintain 20 mph. • Traffic worst during school drop off /pick up hours.On some streets, the asphalt looks ugly with lots of black repair marks. While it is working properly, it is not pleasing to the eye. Major problem not addressed here: stray or unattended dogs on the streets. City must enforce law that people need to have their dogs on a leash if outside their homes or must not have them unattended. In our neighborhood (Triple C Ranch) there are people who leave their dogs outside unattended. Their dogs may be "safe" and "friendly" but not every kid knows that. My kids don't feel safe playing outside because of this. HOA is not addressing this so the city should be able to address this. 1 • You need to get rid of the cameras located at the street lights. They are not always valid and they are not the correct way to determine ones way of driving. • Get rid of red light cameras. • We moved here from another state. I do not understand why the stop signs are not at the intersections in residential neighborhoods. It seems you need to stop at the stop sign/line and stop again at the actual . I have never seen in any of the other 5 states I have lived. • Constant police traps to generate income and not for the safety of the residences

SPIN 4 • Speeding is a major issue now in our town. Please ticket more frequently...you could write speeders up all day long on the access roads of 114 - they fly down those • Remove red-light cameras.

SPIN 5 • Southlake in general is viewed as a rural area with lovely homes and neighborhoods and many of our streets and roads are still country lanes. It is dangerous for pedestrians to run and walk and ride bicycles where auto traffic is so close on 2 lane streets. We need to make it aware to everyone the city has parks and places for these specific needs and then by choice people could choose to stay off crowded streets and away from danger. Regarding street repair, it should be required repairs to the damage caused by installers or companies that dig on or next to streets, be made to pay for street damage. 1 • I hope the barrier on 1709 gets completed soon. Conditions have become very dangerous. And I avoid being around the senior high school when they get out - all of those kids that drive like maniacs, speeding and weaving. Need to have a policeman there everyday to calm them down1 • Figure out a way to slow down the kids driving in neighborhoods. Making right on red at Peytonville and 1709 in the afternoon when school is letting out. • Cease and desist involvement with out of state entity. State of texas now has banned their further usage, unless extension in effect prior to governor's signature (southlake reacted very fast to this loop-hole!!) Usage of round-a-bouts is a very good idea. Just that the process takes sooo looong!! 1 • Since the red light cameras are more of a source of revenue and less about safety - remove red light cameras and allow the police to more than just run radar for speed control. There are more traffic issues that can be addressed by the police. • the red light camera at 1709 and Kimball needs to be recalibrated - you the yellow light going southwest on 1709 is very short...you almost have to slam on your breaks to not run the red light. I got a ticket there once from the camera...and remember thinking it was safer to go than to stop • Large groups of bicycle riders blocking streets and causing delays and not obeying stop signs • Get rid of the cameras at the intersections. I have had to slam on my brakes to not go through an intersection and slam on my brakes to stop from hitting the person in front of me who did the same thing. The yellow

light time needs to be increased especially at Davis and 1709. You can not get through the intersection if the light turns yellow as you are going through it. These cameras give the impression that Southlake is a authoritarian, elitist, and money hungry city. • A stop sign needs to be placed at Randol Mill/Morgan Road. Traffic in the a.m. for Fidelity workers and Solana workers is major; the intersection is dangerous, as is evidenced by the number of times the guard railing has been replaced. Drivers drive too fast (not 30 mph) and the intersection is almost "blind" for turning south onto Morgan Road. 1 • This survey is designed to come up with ways to spend more money on things we don't need. You need to fix the lights on 1709. The gestapo city council needs to remove the cameras on the 1709. 1 • Speeding in residential areas is reaching epidemic levels. Something needs to be done about it. The City also needs to seriously consider extending the cell phone ban from just the school district to the entire City. Cell phone use while driving is not just a danger to children in the school zone - it's a menace to the whole City. Show some leadership and get it done! • Do not like red light cameras. Feel they are a revenue generator for the city and do not feel they really add to safety. • Excessive issuance of speeding tickets. I have NOT had a speeding ticket in Southlake but know many who have been ticketed for EXTREMELY minimal mph over the posted limit. It gives our city a bad name. I guess the Southlake police have been given quotas for citations which I believe to be virtual THEFT. Police officers seem to have no concept of the "spirit of the law" vs. the "letter of the law". They should be trained to have some DISCERNMENT. • I do not believe for a minute that speeding cars are because of anything you have done wrong, but I am appalled at the way drivers behave at Dove and 114 where the street narrows going west. They will run you off the road to get ahead, it is really sad. Also, at Shadyoaks and Dove at 8:00am, it is very difficult to get back on Dove going west. Dove Rd. just seems to be crammed with crazy rude drivers. • Do not think replacing stop signs with yield signs in neighborhoods is a good idea. • I don't allow my kids to ride the bus in the morning since I have had major problems with drivers running the school bus lights and sign. Rarely see police officers on my street in the mornings even though most drivers use my street to bypass 1709.

SPIN 6 • Davis and Southlake Blvd is a total nightmare with traffic. Your tax revenue cameras are not helping. 1 • Red light cameras have to go. It is not fair that this is the way the City gets its revenue. I do not believe it makes driving safer. It is unconstitutional. It is taking too long for Dove to be fixed. They did a good job of getting the round-a-bout done at Dove and Carroll. It needs landscaping now. I got a ticket for in a space near a stop sign at Town Square. I did not know this was illegal. I should have got a . I pay taxes here. The police officer told me to tell my friends that it was illegal to park in those spaces. I did not contest the ticket, but I think it was unfair. • I think the red light cameras need to go. They actually appear to be more of a safety issue than people running lights. It is just a money raiser for the city. I have been nearly rear ended trying to slam on my brakes so I don't get a ticket when the left hand turn light changes after 2 cars at Peytonville. Not enough time at those lights. Most residents I have spoken to HATE those lights and believe the city is trying to take advantage of its residents by having short lights and then ticketing them for it. If you are going to ticket a person, you should be required to have an actual person there to witness it! • People parking in Southlake Town Square seem to avoid parallel parking and regular parking laws. Often they will park backwards and cause slight traffic without getting a ticket or warning from a officer to discourage them from doing the act. • Speeding through residential neighborhoods that are used as cut through for others - Coventry, Southridge Lakes, etc. Our main artery constantly has speeders and it is very dangerous for our children. • Get rid of the RED LIGHT cameras. You all at the city look like a bunch of libs that are out to protect the public from themselves. Find another way to make money or better yet not spend it in the first place. Think first about freedom and second about restricting. Figure out ways to let people do their business and not interfere with the business. Perhaps have an enterprise zone where no sales tax is collected. 1 • I think the new red light cameras are confusing for making right turns and people turning on yellow lights. • Remove red light cameras or put large signs up warning drivers of the cameras. • The red light cameras make me very nervous • The traffic tickets are too much...I got stopped for an out of date inspection sticker. Mine expired in August "8"..it was June. The officer thought it was a "3" as she was passing by! I understand safety and following the rules, but this is over the top! I felt as if she was looking to give a ticket.

The "plea bargain process" is a joke. Pleading your case for "not guilty" is really messed up. You can sit in the court room and hear the deals that are being made. I got stopped for "no seat belt" at a light at Whites' Chapel. I took it off while sitting at the light to get my purse from the back seat. I paid my $200 fine...stupid! and I can go on...there was there other ladies in there complaining about "entrapment", being targeted , etc...Something to be aware of and fix! Are we this desperate for revenue?

SPIN 7 • Most people have some poor driving habits that they don't even realize they have. If you do something long enough without correction it becomes habit. They will be first to complain and last to agree that they also make driving mistakes. Just using a turn signal indicator is a major inconvenience for most. Turning from major intersections most drivers turn into the wrong lane. The left lane to left lane turn is extinct or right lane to right lane turn is extinct, most cross right over into the wrong lane hogging the road. The police need to crack down on these offenses in order to get drivers to think and be more considerate and share the road. Everyone always thinks they are the worlds finest driver. NOT... • Improve the traffic flow at peak afternoon / evening times from 1709 to Davis Blvd. Improve the sensors to allow cross traffic to turn left onto 1709 from neighborhoods with stoplights. morning and afternoon / evening. Red light cameras are only a money making venture - they are not providing and more safety. If safety is the goal, then put 4 way delay on all stoplight intersections to allow the intersections to completely clear (2-3 second delay clears any car that was trying to "beat the light", and doesn't allow a cross traffic car to start yet as the light wouldn't have turned green) 1 • I personally cannot stand the private company allowed to operate the camera red light. I believe in safety. but would rather focus on speeding in the neighborhoods and around children. • I was ticketed for a school zone violation on Brumbalow prior to the traffic circle. I do not travel that road very often and this particular day it was early in the afternoon. I never observed the sign prior to the traffic circle because the school wasn't in view. This is the first ticket I've received in 10 years and my biggest concern is that I didn't realize I was in a school zone. • The biggest problem with traffic in Southlake is aggressive driving. • Speed limit on White Chapel north (at high school) should be reduced to 30 Cars use it as a race track at times

• Much higher visibility of police vehicles on 1709 from 7:00 to 7:00 on all days but Sun. • The photo enforced intersection signage are not easy to detect. (Being fair, it might just be that I'm still getting use to the photo enforced signage. I do have a question - why is Carroll Road going from 1709 to 114 only 30mph? Certainly comes across as a speed trap for the City. It appears that at times there are more police sitting and waiting on that section than any other. How about better posting of the speed signs once people get on that section??!! • Please remove the cameras. They are a hazard. Otherwise, increase the caution light to allow for stopping without slamming on the breaks. • Teenagers driving too fast in residential neighborhoods • Diamond Circle sees a great deal of speeding traffic as students, bus drivers, and parents cut through our neighborhood to get to White Chapel and CHS. Dogs have been hit and children have been in danger while waiting for the school bus. • I see cops trying to give out tickets. I would much rather see them patrolling neighbofhoods -- making sure they are aafe for our kids to walk. how many kids do you see walking to school? Think it is because parents are afraid to let them? I know I am. Come to think of it, the only time I see cops is when they are trying to give tickets. How many people get pulled over because they didn't use a signal to make a lane change? This is a stupid waste of time -- everyone's. The only place to give out tickets is in a schoold zone. Protect the kids!! They are all we have! 1709 is busy. For streets intersecting with 1709, the signals change too often. Many times, the light will change for a person turning right. Let it wait 20 more seconds and they can turn right without a light change. Again, put an adult in charge. I don't travel 1709 and I can still see that this is a problem and is not being solved properly. 1 • Red light cameras have eliminated many racing through the lights but have also caused accidents and near misses when stopping short for fear of a ticket.

SPIN 8 • In morning rush hour and evening rush hour the lights on 1709 appear to be synced pretty well which helps traffic move. I do believe that the intersection of 1709 and davis blvd needs a second left turn lane to go south on davis. That gets really backed up and out of control frequently. People are really bad about coming to a complete stop at the stop signs in town square and it can be dangerous. 1 • Do not understand why speed limit on White Chapel north of 1709 is higher that the other arterials in town.

• The placement of traffic control signage is not a problem but the enforcement by police is a major problem. Too many residents just ignore the signage. • Speeding in Southlake has been a problem for the 14 years our family has lived here. I think as we have grown it has increased. • Please get rid of red light cameras. • There is a significant amount of traffic and speeding on Morningside Dr, Especially in the early mornings (school traffic), after school, and some evenings. 1 • Cars speeding in the school zones is the biggest issue. • We have requested speed enforcement several times. • There is some speeding in the subdivisions because there are not normally police cars in the area.

SPIN 9 • School zones need to all be at the same time of the day and properly posted. • Crosswalks are ignored by 99% of drivers. • The entrance to Central Market off of Carroll continues to be troublesome. I think the photo enforcement of red lights should be stopped. 1 • Police spend too much time giving out 2 -5 mile over speed limit tickets. They have better things to tend to. • I assume the traffic cameras are reducing the running of red lights. But one problem is now people are tentative when they are approaching an intersection because they are not sure when the light will turn yellow and then red and when the camera goes off. One easy solution to this problem is the blinking light which could go off 3 or 5 seconds before the light changes. This way not only the car in front which is coming up on the intersection but the cars behind would have a small warning that they need to stop. I think this would be much safer than no warning at all. • Southlake residents feel the stop signs only mean slow down. Too many rolling thru stop signs all over town. Red light cameras have helped with running lights but it is still a problem. Now we don't know if we can if we are in the middle of the intersection when it changes and that has caused some problems. Fix the parking in town square. Huge problem. Trying to get to town hall is impossible!! • Lower the speed limit in neighborhoods to 15 mph. Have police monitor speeds in neighborhoods, not on major roads.

• There are an excessive number of STOP signs in Southlake, at areas where a YIELD sign would serve the purpose....unless the purpose is to write tickets and generate $$$ for the city. • I an not a big fan of the red light cameras. I realize they provide a lot of funds for the city, but I don't think they are fair and accurate and wish the city didn't use them. Is there any way to have the lights timed better on 1709? It seems like they are intentionally timed to make you stop at every light. 1 • I am not a big fan of the red light cameras. I believe that they can distract the driver. I also believe that there are times when a yellow light is safer to run than coming to a quick stop. • I travel all over DFW and this city gives out way too many traffic tickets. When driving in Southlake during the day, it is not uncommon for me to be in 5 or more speed traps in one day. Everyone if fully aware that the red light cameras are for extra taxation first and safety second. The city was awfully quick about getting those long term red light camera contracts signed before the news laws took effect. Of course all these excess traffic and red light tickets have to pay for that new city police palace with the underground shooting range and that is understandable since the professional citizens of Southlake are violent criminals and the officers are always having to shoot at us-----the only thing they are shooting is their TRAFFIC SPEEDING RADAR GUNS. I have no issues with the officers of Southlake...they are very nice. My issue is with the city taxation 'overkill' in the name of 'safety'. • I tell all friends/family coming to Southlake to watch their speed, as the cops here, thank goodness, have nothing to do but watch your speed. • Need more support for the school zones in Continental behind Old Union and in Kimball, across from Eubanks. Many speeders and in Continental drivers fail to slow down at cross walks. • I have no traffic violations and drive within city speed limits. I do not like the red light cameras that have been installed on 1709. They set an unwelcome tone on the street of untrustworthiness. I'd rather have the speed limit reduced than have the red light cameras. • I find the speed zones through elementary school areas to be exceedingly long. Having been an elementary teacher for 30 years I know that it does not take 2 and 1/2 hours to clear the property.

SPIN 10 • 2 things: 1: Some vehicles, particularly giant SUV's are being driven very aggressively on 1709. This makes it less safe for everyone else. 2: The double line painted on Waterford Drive by 1709 is way too far to the left. There are 2 generous lanes for exiting the neighborhood and one VERY

SKIMPY lane for entering. This is a huge problem for people waiting at the light to get onto 1709 westbound, because they are at great risk of being hit by incoming vehicles. It is also a big problem for those entering Waterford, because they have to slow down to almost a complete stop before turning in, so they can avoid hitting the northbound, idle cars. Also, other drivers behind the one turning into Waterford from 1709 have to be very careful not to rear-end the car turning it, because he'd be going about 5 - 10 mph rather than 45 mph. 1 • Cars speeding and running stop signs in the Stone Lakes neighborhood is a very troubling issue. This issue needs to be dealt with immediately before we lose one or more children to a speeding motorist. • My views are somewhat biased. We live on Waterford Drive in the Stone Lakes neighborhood and the speeding and traffic are horrendous. Hardly anyone uses the main entrance to the neighborhood, they only go to the light at Waterford. It would be nice if there were a way to connect with the Timberlake Neighborhood or have another entrance in the back somewhere. There are over 300 residences and most people use the Waterford entrance! That, combined with visitors, creates a huge problem. We have a 6 month old and there is absolutely no way that we can let him play in the front yard when he gets older which is extremely saddening. 1 • We live in Timberlake and everyone speeds, it is a huge problem. Then we have these stupid parents that let their 4 and 6 year old ride these motorized vehicles on major roads in our neighborhood. Those should be outlawed. I know you cannot do anything about parent stupidity, but one of these kids is going to die and it will be very sad because the parents are just stupid. • Get rid of the stoplight camera's! It just portrays a City desperate to generate revenue... • We need much more aggressive enforcement of speed limits, both on major streets and in neighborhoods. • Drivers speed on Continental and have little or no regard for cyclists. Would like to see more police presence on Continental. • Traffic on 1709 is awful. You will get stopped going down a side street because of slightly speeding; however, cars travel at excessive speeds on 1709 throughout the day and there are no police to be found anywhere1 • Please continue with the red light cameras. I would like to see them installed in Town Square. • People using the turn lanes to make u-turns at inappropriate and dangerous locations , especially at Town Square • The on ramp from Southlake blvd to 114 is a royal pain in the morning when commuting. It take 15 minutes to get fro White's chapel onto 114. Instead of narrowing 114 at Carroll and then loading on all Southlake blvd

traffic. It would make sense to keep 3 lanes and reroute the on-ramp. I also think that we should ban cell phones from the drivers in Southlake. There are too many people swerving in lanes, turning into traffic while talking or texting. 1 • Stone Lakes neighborhood has a speed limit of 35. The board of directors are unwilling to do anything about it, yet Carroll Ave is 30. How can that be that a major street has a lower speed limit than our poor neighborhood? • The city's red light cameras are dangerous, and quite possibly, illegal. The driving conditions at the intersections that have these cameras are erratic and unpredictable. The cameras create dangerous driving conditions. I am sorely disappointed in Southlake's use of these cameras as revenue generators. Particularly when we only keep approximately 1/3 of the revenue generated. I am not opposed to curbing red-light runners. However, most deaths and human injuries are the result of running a red light on a straight away. Yet the vast majority of tickets (upwards of 80%) that are generated by these red light cameras are for a right turn on red. There is little (if any) evidence that reducing right turns on red will reduce human fatalities or injuries. I am opposed to the contractual language that requires the City to fine me, even if an officer at the scene would not have ticketed me for the same offense. Further, I am ashamed that the city of Southlake joined the city of Arlington in a last minute renegotiation to extend their contracts way beyond the time that normal municipal contracts are in place in an effort to out smart the sunset provision the Texas legislature was trying to pass. Southlake is better than this. In most things we take the high road, wear the white hat -- but not here. This decision to install red light cameras is a bad one for the city. These cameras, and those who voted for them, should be removed.

SPIN 11 • Safety of my children at their bus stop. Drivers drive right past their busses when the red lights are turned on & the bus stop is on a busy road (Randol MIll Road). I have personally witnessed drivers trying to hurry up to get past the bus. very unsettling.

SPIN 6 • Get rid of the RED LIGHT cameras. You all at the city look like a bunch of libs that are out to protect the public from themselves. Find another way to make money or better yet not spend it in the first place. Think first about freedom and second about restricting. Figure out ways to let people do their business and not interfere with the business. Perhaps have an enterprise zone where no sales tax is collected. 1

SPIN 2 • 1. Bicyclist riding on Dove Road. This is a huge problem that needs to be addressed. This is a skinny winding 2 lane road and cyclists or groups of them make the road extremely dangerous. I have had to compromise my families safety on many occasions from either hitting the cyclist or having to run into the ditch because of other oncoming traffic trying to pass the cyclist. If a car is afraid to go around then it holds traffic up. I am surprised no one complains about this issue. 2. Street drainage. There is always standing water on the street in our neighbor. 3. Sidewalks. My kids can not walk to school (Johnson Elementary) because there are no sidewalks which continue from our neighborhood down to the school. In addition during school rush hour at the middle school kids are crossing the street just wherever. Where are the crossing guards? 1

SPIN 6 • Southlake blvd should have a full length sidewalk • Add more side walks and make the city more pedestrian friendly. Its a nightmare to cross a road.

SPIN 1 • North White Chapel (between Bob Jones and Dove) is a serious problem. The road is narrow as it has no shoulder and there are many blind spots due to vegetation, curves, and hills. This stretch of road is travelled daily by families who may not be familiar with the area since Bob Jones Park services sports teams throughout the Metroplex. To make matters worse, this section of White Chapel is used heavily by bicyclists. There will be a fatality someday if the conditions are not rectified. • White Chapel between 114 & 1709 should have been widened years ago. traffic backs up many times during the day, White Chapel & Highland need a solution. school traffic at CHS is dangerous, thankful for kind parents • I'm not sure if this is the proper place to state this, but I'll use it anyway. I, like almost everyone, am very concerned about the safety of our childern and this includes school zone traffice control. However, I believe some reason needs to be applied when posting school zone speed limits. The zone I am referring to is the one for the Clariden School (Private School) on North White Chappel. This school is located across from Bob Jones park. I drive through that zone several times most days, and have done so on numerous occasions while the 20 mph like is active. I do not believe one single student crosses that road, and I mean not one. That school zone makes no sense. All kids are taken to the school in private cars and deposited at the front and picked up from the front of the building. They do not have school crossing guards for a reason. They are not necessary because no one crosses the street on foot. I believe a review should be made to determine if a school zone is necessary. 1 • The asphalt in the cul-de-sac at the northern end of Welford lane should be reviewed for repair.

SPIN 2 • I think our roads are not keeping up with likely traffic patterns for the future. • Asphalt overlays start and stop in random pieces. Eventually they start to crack and break. The striping on Carroll Rd. did not last long. The construction of the roundabout allowed cars to cut through the neighborhood. Many failed to stop at the lonely stop sign. Signs were posted but not obeyed. 1 • Dove road between lonesome dove and Kimball needs to be repaved. • Can't wait for improvements to Dove Rd. Speeding on this road is pretty bad as well. The road striping on White Chapel (next to Central Market) needs to somehow be clearer, I see a lot of "almost" accidents at this spot.

Thank you for increasing the speed limits on the side roads of 114, it makes more sense to have it the same speed at 1709. 1 • Although not in my neighborhood, I think the markings for the left turn lane on eastbound 1709 at Peytonville are very confusing. • Thank you for adding the Roundabouts in various parts of town! Great idea and executed well at Carroll and Dove. Looking forward to using the Whites chapel and Dove Roundabout next year! Make More roundabouts! Thanks* Please inform police to operate radar while driving thru residential neighborhoods and ticket speeders. Especially in the evening/dusk hours when visibility is poor and pedestrians may be caught off guard by speeding cars 1 • As noted above our roads seem in constant disrepair or when asphalted, poorly done (patched and quickly disintegrate). I feel that police ought to be out on the streets; often I see several police cars parked at the station. The volunteer patrol is a great idea and a crime deterrent. Police are often at school zones during flashing times and that is a credit to them. I believe the new cars in SL for the police are cheap and certainly belie the high quality living in SL compared to the vehicles used by the Grapevine police. 1 • The patch asphalt on Dove Road is worse that the original rough road. I hope you plan to overlay the entire road from Kimble to Lonesome Dove. (please, please). I do appreciate living in such a nice area, so please don't take my comments in the wrong way. • The roundabout construction is taking a long time. Carroll was shut down over 3 months and the Dove construction has numerous pot holes and creates a lot of dust/debris. • At several intersections the road goes from 2 to 1 lane after passing the traffic signal causing near accidents and flared tempers as they compete for the lane. These should all be marked so as to eliminate the fight for right of way on the other side of the intersection. • Some of the minor rural streets in Southlake need help. There also needs to be something done at the intersection of White Chapel and Highland which is very heavily congested at peak times.

SPIN 3 • The only problem we experience is the amount of traffic on 1709 during rush hours. • A couple of roads really need to be resurfaced - Shady Oaks and Carroll just north of 114 • Traffic worst during school drop off /pick up hours.On some streets, the asphalt looks ugly with lots of black repair marks. While it is working properly, it is not pleasing to the eye. Major problem not addressed here: stray or unattended dogs on the streets. City must enforce law that people need to have their dogs on a leash if outside their homes or must not have them unattended. In our neighborhood (Triple C Ranch) there are people who leave their dogs outside unattended. Their dogs may be "safe" and "friendly" but not every kid knows that. My kids don't feel safe playing outside because of this. HOA is not addressing this so the city should be able to address this. 1 • Many street signs are hidden by trees. Often the white line to stop is prior to the road and you can't even see the on coming traffic without passing the white line and driving into the street. • Dove road west of Kimball is in bad shape.

SPIN 4 • The pavement on North Carroll, near 114 and the new medical buildings is falling apart. • The public needs to be educated on the purpose and usage of the new roundabouts. While they are great traffic tools, stopping and looking at the crossroads obviates their advantages. • I hate that there is a need for streets to be widened. I liked Southlake much less populated. But, this is where we are and Kimball MUST be

widened. It's bad now, and it is about to be worse when Gateway Church opens up. • Dove Rd., for example, is under construction and we never see anyone working. Also goes for Highland Rd. • Dove Road is horrible. Worse with the roundabout. Wouldn't be so bad if not for all the bicyclists on this narrow, two-lane road with no shoulder and lots of traffic. • The method for filling pot holes may be the most cost effective, but they don't seem to wear well and look bad. I have seen other methods that seem to wear much better and look better as well.

SPIN 5 • Neighborhood streets used to cut through to avoid congestion . • Southlake in general is viewed as a rural area with lovely homes and neighborhoods and many of our streets and roads are still country lanes. It is dangerous for pedestrians to run and walk and ride bicycles where auto traffic is so close on 2 lane streets. We need to make it aware to everyone the city has parks and places for these specific needs and then by choice people could choose to stay off crowded streets and away from danger. Regarding street repair, it should be required repairs to the damage caused by installers or companies that dig on or next to streets, be made to pay for street damage. 1 • There is a curve on Randol Mill going south from Dove to Southlake Blvd. right at the turn onto Morgan that is dangerous when coming from either way, but especially going south. Don't know what could be done. • I hope the barrier on 1709 gets completed soon. Conditions have become very dangerous. And I avoid being around the senior high school when they get out - all of those kids that drive like maniacs, speeding and weaving. Need to have a policeman there everyday to calm them down. 1 • I think the neighborhoods are clean but Town Square, including the garages are not. It seems like Highland has been under construction for a long time. The road was torn up and then no work was done all summer. The changing of traffic patterns at Carroll High School was a mess - make sure the new schools being planned now have adequate traffic flow because it seems like once people get used to the flow - you can't change it. When I first moved to my neighborhood speeding and cut through traffic was a big problem. With the completion of 114 and the Dove interchange, traffic is better and there's not as much speeding. There is a lot of school traffic so if the Shady Oaks neighborhood ever gets completed, there should be another road from Peytonville to Shady Oaks to ease the traffic through our neighborhood.

• One problem area is turning left onto Davis Blvd when going west on Southlake Blvd. Traffic backs up greatly, and you can actually sit there through two to three light cycles. • Highland between Shady Oaks and White's Chapel is a daily challenge because of it's poor condition. Signs indicated it would be completed before the end of the year. Construction east of CMS is also taking too long! • Just the sheer congestion at major traffic times in the mornings and afternoons-- • Highland Street. What is taking so long? • Cease and desist involvement with out of state red light camera entity. State of texas now has banned their further usage, unless extension in effect prior to governor's signature (southlake reacted very fast to this loop-hole!!) Usage of round-a-bouts is a very good idea. Just that the process takes sooo looong!! 1 • Traffic lights turn without any reason. Left turn signals light without any cars in the lane. • Finish highland ave paving • I think we could go with more yield signs rather than stop signs on residential streets that lead into the main residential streets. A 25 MPH feeder into a 25 MPH collector road within a neighborhood could maybe have a yield sign and there would be no traffic control sign on the collector road, other than perhaps a caution: intersection sign. • Neighborhood streets in Cross Timber Hills have suffered over the years • A stop sign needs to be placed at Randol Mill/Morgan Road. Traffic in the a.m. for Fidelity workers and Solana workers is major; the intersection is dangerous, as is evidenced by the number of times the guard railing has been replaced. Drivers drive too fast (not 30 mph) and the intersection is almost "blind" for turning south onto Morgan Road. 1 • Highland between White Chapel and Shady Oaks was torn up on the south side to lay pipes last summer but never properly repaired. Now everyone drives on the north side of the road regardless of which direction they are traveling because of the poor patchwork job that was done. At this point, it should be resurfaced. • Concerned about green arrow turns: some yield on green arrow are dangerous, especially at CHS and Davis/1709. more roundabout would be an excellent idea, and is not costly once implemented. (we should use native plants and never water these areas)

• This survey is designed to come up with ways to spend more money on things we don't need. You need to fix the lights on 1709. The gestapo city council needs to remove the cameras on the 1709. 1 • SH 114 out of/into Grapevine/Southlake is horrible during rush hour. Exit ramps are poorly designed. • I would like a speed bump in my neighborhood by my house. I live in Coventry Manor and have been told it was "in the works" for a long time. I am frightened to check my mail at times because of the cars that whiz by my house around a curve. I have to check my mail from behind the mailbox because of the cars. I don't let my kids get on the street. When will this be done? • Addition of roundabouts has been positive. More are encouraged, even consider along 1709. • Need to have road built to improve travel going south out of Southlake. The are where 1709 and Davis meet is terrible. There needs to be a out of the western areas of Southlake to go south. • Repair Highland between White Chapel and Shady Oaks • Highland was under construction and then the project stopped and it left the roads worse than what they originally were trying to fix • Highland is a mess. • Highland Ave. between Carrol and Shady Oaks needs holes filled and repaving. • The streets in many cases are in ill repair and shoddy work is performed. • Stop signs in Town Square are placed too many feet back from the actual intersection. Not many people even bother to come to a stop before they turn. Some intersections in Town Square are 2-way stops and would be better if all were 4-way stops.

SPIN 6 • Davis and Southlake Blvd is a total nightmare with traffic. Your tax revenue cameras are not helping. 1 • We need updated electronic crossing signals for pedestrians. Many do not work and most are dim and have no sound to help those with vision problems. • Streets that are in constructions is taking to long to fix. • My husband and I have each separately witnessed so many near wrecks and dangerous driving by the residents of the Timberlake neighborhood trying to turn out of their neighborhood on 1709 and go west. Is there not

a back exit they could use during certain times of day and could you make left turns out of that neighborhood not an option during peak rush hours? • Fix West Highland street -- especially between Shady Oaks and White Chapel!!!! • Due to the long wait at the 1709/Davis Blvd light, we get a lot of cut- through traffic in Myers Meadow, especially during rush hour. Also, the lack of median on Davis Blvd just south of 1709 allows many cars to make dangerous left turns into or out of the Albertson's shopping center across 3 or 4 lanes of traffic. I have personally been in an accident where a car turning left pulled blindly into the 2nd lane of traffic while trying to make a left turn. Also, the left turn from 1709 on Davis takes way too many cycles especially at peak times. A 2nd turn lane would be a major improvement. • Only traffic problem I routinely encounter is at the corner of Davis Boulevard and Southlake Boulevard. Traffic going west on Southlake Boulevard is backed up to the firehouse and McDonalds trying to make a left turn onto Davis during much of the day. corner needs a double lane left turn onto Davis from Southlake Boulevard. Another problem. The two way left-hand turn center lane on Southlake Blvd. in front of the natatorium is dangerous since cars going west on Southlake Boulevard often are trying to turn left into the natatorium parking lot when I am traveling east on Southlake Blvd. and am trying to turn left in Southridge Lakes. I have had near head-on crashes on several occasions. • Stop light on 1709 switch from green to red even when no cars are on the side streets. This even happens during nor rush hours. We sure could use a good quality rec/community center. 1 • At some stop sign intersections it in not clearly marked which lane is to make a left or go straight until you are actually at the stop sign. a sign showing the traffic pattern as you approach would be helpful. Corner of Dove and White Chapel, corner of White Chapel and Highland. • The light at shady oaks and Southlake blvd needs to be retimed. • Could you please fill in the pot hole. It is on the north east corner as you enter the neighborhood at 1709 and Southridge Lakes Pkwy. • Our road leading from 1709 to SouthRidge Lakes has terrible potholes • The lights are not timed properly for rush hour. Rush hour in Southlake starts by 4pm and the lights turning north on carroll from east bound 1609 is not long enough. A car can regularly sit through that light 4 cycles or almost 10 minutes. Also the light for traffic on 1609 at peytonville is not long enough. Only allow maybe 10 cars through per cycle, backing traffic up through to the light at south ridge lakes. There is no traffic back up on peytonville and none on the west side of the light's o it must be a timing issue.

• Our planned subdivision is one of the oldest in Southlake. Our streets are repaired with patches and need to be repaved or new asphalt over all of them (in particular Brazos Drive). There is water that stands near patches. • Traffic congestion is horrible and the secondary roads are not set up to handle alternate routes. In addition with the growth along 1709 there needs to be a few more traffic lights. There are shopping areas that you simply cannot make a left turn to get out of, so you are forced to turn right and make a U-Turn up the road which can be difficult. The left turn signals into Town Square during very busy times either do not work, which happens often or are simply to short as only 2 maybe 3 cars can turn into the Square. Many people are getting frustrated and shopping elsewhere. • The round about are great but do not need to be so narrow. The one at carroll and dove is an accident waiting to happen. Too narrow and poorly lit

SPIN 7 • My only complaint is that some streets aren't finished once the street is paved. Example: West end of Highland road between Whites Chapel and 114. The drainage is not finished nor has the plastic orange fencing been taken up so the roadway can be mowed properly. • We need speed bumps on Own by Lane for the cars turning right into Southview and cutting through Southview and then Foxborough from Carroll Avenue. • Highland is travelled every day several times by parents dropping off and picking up students at DES/DIS. The street was torn apart over a year ago and I assumed it would be fixed not patched. The street has only been patched and it continues to erode every day and every storm. I drive an SUV and it is a very rough ride. For sedans and compact cars it is impossible. The 30 mph speed limit is rarely reached due to the condition of the street. Also, the round about at Continental and White Chapel is still a disaster. • The traffic around the schools is a major issue. • Improve the traffic flow at peak afternoon / evening times from 1709 to Davis Blvd. Improve the sensors to allow cross traffic to turn left onto 1709 from neighborhoods with stoplights. morning and afternoon / evening. Red light cameras are only a money making venture - they are not providing and more safety. If safety is the goal, then put 4 way delay on all stoplight intersections to allow the intersections to completely clear (2-3 second delay clears any car that was trying to "beat the light", and doesn't

allow a cross traffic car to start yet as the light wouldn't have turned green) 1 • Our problems are not unique to this community. However, by bringing in new businesses, encouraging people from outside the city to shop here, etc., we have not improved our infrastructure at the same rate. • The Highland/White's Chapel intersection continues to be a problem. The 4-way stop meters cars along White's Chapel making it difficult to enter that road during several high-traffic times. It should be the next candidate for a round-about. • It is irritating to have to wait so long at traffic lights to cross 1709, or make a left turn from side streets when there is no traffic going through. • Highland and Whites Chapel intersection, 1709 and Carroll, 1709 and Whites Chapel, 1709 and 114 • Difficulty getting out of neighborhood at some times of day. • Congestion on 114 east around NW Hwy exit to 121 exit into Grapevine. Another lane is needed as 2 outer lanes merge into inside lanes. • We need a street sweeper!!! Occasionally one comes through Foxborough but it doesn't appear that one ever tends to 1709. Broken glass from accidents remains on the road -- this is unsightly (what about the image we are portraying?) and unsafe. • Probably will need a light soon to get out of town square onto Carroll from the Hilton. • Street quality is especially bad north of Hwy 114. • E. Highland was supposed to be completed in November. It is still in complete disarray and the yards and side areas on the street are a mess. I realize we had a lot of rain but my front has been a mess for many months and is so uneven that I am not able to mow it with my tractor. • Highland Road needs to be fixed. It is undrivable • East Highland Road and Summer road had work performed last summer. There are bumps which should and could have been finished out. It appeared like the workers left and would come back the next day to finish...but they never came back. I can't believe the final condition is how the city intended the road to be. • Is there a way to sync up the lights in this town, if you travel on 1709 one light turns green and the next turns red - which causes much frustration and bottle necking due to something that is so easy to resolve - lived in major cities and have never seen anything quite like this ever. • The new roundabout on Continental is great! Rush hour on 114 is a big problem that will hopefully, be alleviated by the new work starting.

• I buses the problem I see is the handling of the volume of traffic on 1709. • I see cops trying to give out tickets. I would much rather see them patrolling neighbofhoods -- making sure they are aafe for our kids to walk. how many kids do you see walking to school? Think it is because parents are afraid to let them? I know I am. Come to think of it, the only time I see cops is when they are trying to give tickets. How many people get pulled over because they didn't use a signal to make a lane change? This is a stupid waste of time -- everyone's. The only place to give out tickets is in a schoold zone. Protect the kids!! They are all we have! 1709 is busy. For streets intersecting with 1709, the signals change too often. Many times, the light will change for a person turning right. Let it wait 20 more seconds and they can turn right without a light change. Again, put an adult in charge. I don't travel 1709 and I can still see that this is a problem and is not being solved properly. 1

SPIN 8 • We really like the roundabout and look to the completion of others. • Because no one wants to place a lighted intersection at Continental and Kimball. One sometimes waits five minutes just to turn left. With two Traffic circles It is hard to get in and out of Woodsey Court, in effect you have turned my neighborhood into Oakcliff at South Zang. It used to be a lot quieter now it is a race way twice a day, because the citizens who live past Brumlow Ave (Carrol) are in such a hurry to get home or go to work. Plus the smoking ordinance keeps me out of the parks and the town center unless of course I am in my own car. Since this was not a citywide vote on that issue, unlike the selling of Wine for example. I really wonder where the direction of this town is headed. Peter Sporrer Yes these things matter to me. Since the traffic circles there is more trash scattered on Continental as well. Since there is more traffic using it instead of Southlake Blvd. • In morning rush hour and evening rush hour the lights on 1709 appear to be synced pretty well which helps traffic move. I do believe that the intersection of 1709 and davis blvd needs a second left turn lane to go south on davis. That gets really backed up and out of control frequently. People are really bad about coming to a complete stop at the stop signs in town square and it can be dangerous. 1 • There is a significant amount of traffic and speeding on Morningside Dr, Especially in the early mornings (school traffic), after school, and some evenings. 1 • I think we need to form and lay wider turns at all new road construction to ward off trucks going over curbs.

• City has totally screwed up ingress and egress from Woodland Heights, a subdivision that was completed in 1983! • School Signs and Crosswalk signs need to be enlarged - more yellow flashing lights installed. • Our major streets should have reflective directional paint, the lanes etc marked with reflections paint. The curbs on some major intersections: Whites Chapel and 1709, Kimball and 1709 and in the round about the curbs that you could hit with your car should be painted in white reflective paint. The major one that I think about is the center median on Whites Chapel on the south side (I think) needs to be marked with the reflective paint. When traveling from Carroll HS on Whites Chapel across 1709 to Pine street for example, the curb at the intersection on 1709 • The exits at Town square people are still turning left at the not left turns. Also a major problem is U-Turns at 1709 and Carroll heading west in 1709. The streets are very dark at night and not safe to walk on the new sidewalks. The new sidewalk on S. Carroll is a major issue when it gets dark. Tons of walkers/ runners and no lights • Our street is often used as a "turn-around" and also mistaken as being a through street. I would love to have a posted sign stating each.

SPIN 9 • As I stated previously I could see the city having some bicycle lanes on certain streets. The round-a-bouts are great.Brumlow needs to be somewhat wider to handle bicyclist. White's Chapel North to the park needs to be wider with a bicycle lane. • Like Highland Park, I suggest that all streets be sealed and restriped more often - preferably once a year. This will avoid the deterioration of the asphalt that occurs. • Some traffic lights are not adequately timed for the traffic flow, causing delays. We're glad you did NOT make the traffic flow change at the high school permanent as it was a MAJOR headache! • There is a major problem in this town with drivers misusing the left hand turn lanes. I really think many drivers have no idea that they are not there to use as a pull out and drive down lane to merge with traffic lane. More that once in the last 6 months, I have almost been hit straight on while in the left had turn lane waiting to turn by a driver pulling out and driving down the turn lane. • The roundabout at White's Chapel and Continental is very bumpy

• The streets should be painted with reflective stripes. The street lights on Southlake Blvd should be synchronized so if you travel the speed limit you will flow through all the lights. • Sometimes have to sit through multiple cycles of lights when trying to cross 1709 on White's Chapel or Nolen at low-traffic-volume times. Are some sensors not working? • Is the long life/permanent asphalt being used? If not, this will cost more in the long run due to continue repairs It also doesn't look as good as the concrete. The construction of the roundabout at Continental/White's Chapel wasn't completed as scheduled and is terrible with 2 ways to turn/go north onto White's Chapel Blvd. • No traffic flow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! • We need a left turn arrow to turn into Town Square from Southlake Blvd. We also need left arrow signal on Carroll and Southlake Blvd. The sidewalk on Southlake Blvd connecting Central Market to Town Square should be raised 6 inches and have the safety crossing lights like they have on Main Street Grapevine. They are only activate when the cross street button is pushed. Right now the cross walk is not striped and is very dangerous. • The entrance to Central Market off of Carroll continues to be troublesome. I think the photo enforcement of red lights should be stopped. 1 • The roundabout construction site at Whites Chapel and Continental is very hard to maneuver at night. Lighting would be helpful. Traffic control/lane markers are often damaged or moved resulting in dangerous situations. These should be checked and corrected daily. • Many potholes, streets needing repair, time to repair is long or not at all. • Make sure the left turn arrow on 1709 turning left onto Carroll Avenue is an appropriate time frame - that gets too backed up! • The street striping on Carroll Ave adjacent to Central Market is really DUMB- You should have that looked at again... • Please get the roundabout finished at White Chapel and Continental. This is taking forever! • Getting in and out of Southlake in the west and south areas are way too congested. • I am concerned the traffic into and out of the city will restrict people making a decision to move to the area. Who wants to sit in traffic every morning and evening. This will drive down the house prices and value due to lower demand.

• We need a new "scheme" for how to enter and leave 114, to and from 1709. It's too jammed up most of the time. I try to avoid it at all costs, but cannot always. • Southlake residents feel the stop signs only mean slow down. Too many rolling thru stop signs all over town. Red light cameras have helped with running lights but it is still a problem. Now we don't know if we can turn on red if we are in the middle of the intersection when it changes and that has caused some problems. Fix the parking in town square. Huge problem. Trying to get to town hall is impossible!! 1 • Bent Creek drive has several areas that the roads are in bad shape. I think the roundabout will help, but right now, the road conditions within the roundabout are horrible - major differences in elevation causing tire trouble and pot holes. • When heading East on 1709, the turn signal heading North on Carroll Ave. can get VERY backed up. It might take at least 3-4 times of getting the turn arrow before you make it through the light onto Carroll Ave. • I an not a big fan of the red light cameras. I realize they provide a lot of funds for the city, but I don't think they are fair and accurate and wish the city didn't use them. Is there any way to have the lights timed better on 1709? It seems like they are intentionally timed to make you stop at every light. 1 • As much as possible, traffic should be routed away from residential streets (such as Parkwood Drive). • To work with Grapevine and DoT to add highway overpass connection for 114 and 121 (N121 to W114; E114 to S121). This is a major concern for me. • The traffic circle at Continental and White's Chapel is taking WAY TOO LONG to complete. The left turn traffic signal at White's Chapel and 1709 (as seen when traveling north on White's Chapel is hard to see). • The roundabouts are awesome - but the yield signs are not highly visible and are too close to the roundabout. Apparently a lot of people don't know what they are, so they assume that they have the right of way entering - there is a need for more specific language (e.g., "Yield to cars already in the roundabout") to help make that clear. • Thank you for now having regular street cleaning services in our area. This attention to detail really assists in the appearance of the neighborhood. Our neighborhood of Bent Creek needs street repairs. Many areas of loose concrete and do not want to see anyone hurt. • Thank you, thank you for the round about at Continental and Whites Chapel. I have lived here 15 years and have been awaiting this

construction since it was planned 3+ years ago. Can't wait for the one at Continental and Byron Nelson!!!! • Please continually evaluate traffic signal timing, ESP. At left turn signals. • I am not sure traffic circles are a good idea. I don't think they are big enough to be safe enough. I think 4 way stop lights would be safer and cheaper, although they may not be as pretty. But I don't thinks looks should be the determinative factor. Also, it is silly to plant huge trees in medians. They need to have their branches trimmed too much and if a car has an accident and collides with a big tree, the tree often wins! Plant smaller trees like crape myrtles. They need less work and if a car goes out of control and hits a crape myrtle, usually the crape snaps before the car does! • Need more "roundabouts" at busy four-way stops.

SPIN 10 • Several areas of sunken concrete in Stone Lakes neighborhood streets • Lots of potholes that need to be repaired over and over • The timely completion of construction on the Round-A-Bouts is a concern. It would not be good to be under construction during holiday peek seasons. • 2 things: 1: Some vehicles, particularly giant SUV's are being driven very aggressively on 1709. This makes it less safe for everyone else. 2: The double line painted on Waterford Drive by 1709 is way too far to the left. There are 2 generous lanes for exiting the neighborhood and one VERY SKIMPY lane for entering. This is a huge problem for people waiting at the light to get onto 1709 westbound, because they are at great risk of being hit by incoming vehicles. It is also a big problem for those entering Waterford, because they have to slow down to almost a complete stop before turning in, so they can avoid hitting the northbound, idle cars. Also, other drivers behind the one turning into Waterford from 1709 have to be very careful not to rear-end the car turning it, because he'd be going about 5 - 10 mph rather than 45 mph. 1 • Keep up the idea of roundabouts. They are excellent. Put them everywhere. • My views are somewhat biased. We live on Waterford Drive in the Stone Lakes neighborhood and the speeding and traffic are horrendous. Hardly anyone uses the main entrance to the neighborhood, they only go to the light at Waterford. It would be nice if there were a way to connect with the Timberlake Neighborhood or have another entrance in the back somewhere. There are over 300 residences and most people use the Waterford entrance! That, combined with visitors, creates a huge problem.

We have a 6 month old and there is absolutely no way that we can let him play in the front yard when he gets older which is extremely saddening. 1 • Out of town onto 114 is a problem, peytonville road light off 1709 in mornings is a problem - timing seems off/too short for the amount of cars turning • Growths is leading to traffic congestion. • Thank you for the roundabout on Continental and White Chapel! • The elimination of shoulders on Southlake and Davis Blvds have made driving less safe and hazardous for drivers making turns onto and off these roads. • The round a bout at Continental and Wht. Chapel is taking way too long and is a hazard • Traffic flow on Southlake Boulevard is pretty tough. You can be driving down the road very early in the morning and have to stop at a red light on Central, or some other small street, when no cars are anywhere around. The traffic is routed to move in slugs through the city on 1709, which is the only way I can see it working with a road that contains so many lanes. But, we should have been synchronization of lights and more smart lights. There's no reason to stop at 5 a.m. in the morning on the way to the gym when no cars are coming or going on various side streets near Town Square or Kroger. • Better signage & education needed for motorists regarding how round about function • Traffic on 1709 is awful. You will get stopped going down a side street because of slightly speeding; however, cars travel at excessive speeds on 1709 throughout the day and there are no police to be found anywhere 1 • Street Work is too slow....i.e. roundabout on White Chappel • I would like to see a light or an alternate entry/exit for Bicentennial Park and Southlake Tennis Center. Turning left out of there is very dangerous at times & considering it is mostly children being dropped off for sports practices, I would hope there would be a safer route. • The whites chapel/continental traffic circle has been too long in development/completion...it started in June and its not completed yet. 6 mos. later. I heard that Bryon Nelson is next? Can we speed that up and get a few more workers involved...Most times there have been maybe 3 people working. One driving the machinery, one managing cones/traffic and one handling landscape issues. • The on ramp from Southlake blvd to 114 is a royal pain in the morning when commuting. It take 15 minutes to get fro White's chapel onto 114. Instead of narrowing 114 at Carroll and then loading on all Southlake blvd traffic. It would make sense to keep 3 lanes and reroute the on-ramp. also think that we should ban cell phones from the drivers in Southlake. There are too many people swerving in lanes, turning into traffic while talking or texting. 1 • Per a previous answer, driving should be restricted on the main streets within the town square. • The streets in Town Square Phase I are a disgrace. • Neighborhood streets have tar streaks all over roads. It looks old and unsightly. Very much cheapens the neighborhood's appearance. • Traffic trying to turn from Southlake Blvd. to southbound Davis Blvd.is a problem in AM and PM rush hours • Am looking forward to Continental round about completion. Any way to speed this up? • Timber Lake Drive has some major street deterioration that need to be fixed • City does a good job managing the roads maintenance • As stated earlier in he survey...too much pass through traffic! • Love the Roundabouts- helps immensely • Just way too much congestion. 1709 is terrible. • Keep building more traffic circles. Crossing 1709 to enter traffic in the opposite lane from neighborhoods without stop lights is a major safety issue. • The roundabout at Whites Chapel and Continental is already easing traffic there!

SPIN 11 • 1709 eeek, the traffic! • I was concerned about slow repair of sidewalk at 1709 and Jellico W and was told "yeah it is slow, in due time." I was concerned about sinkhole in street and was told they would have engineering look at it. I heard they did not think it was sewer leakage? I do not know what is to be done, if anything. Jellico and FM1709 entrances are incompatible with traffic, sight lines, signage, and width of jellico. We are told left turn lanes are coming - but there is still only one lane to turn into. • It is illegal to make a left turn across double yellow lines. This has caused many accidents for east-bound traffic on 1709 who make illegal left turns into the Tom Thumb shopping center, just west of White Chapel Road.I would like to see a barricade put there to prevent these illegal left turns (similar to the barricades in NRH on Davis near the Walmart).

• Since Union Church was repaved, drainage has been a problem for the entrances of the Chesapeake Place development. The traffic signal for Pearson/Southlake Blvd. has a tendency not to trigger properly if the lead car is too far forward or back to trigger the light. This is very irritating especially when one is attempting to get their child to school. The ditches are too steep and the roads too narrow on Pearson/Union Church. The ditches should be moved be filled in, drainage piples installed, and the road widened to accommodate all the traffic on this road. Sidewalks are a must! The other big, big problem is the Davis/1709 intersection! Anyone turning left out of the Alberston's shopping center is taking chances with life and limb! Perhaps the signal for the fire station should become a working light to allow left turns onto 1709 and is also triggered when the first station needs it. Cars turning left on Davis from 1709 can become extremely backed up during rush hour. Perhaps the city should rework the light at this intersection to allow anyone turning or proceeding straight ahead to go only when green. This way, traffic planners can cars work it so cars can turn left from 2 lanes instead of one at this intersection. Do away with all yeild signs at the Davis/1709 intersection to increase safety. The third problem is the Kimball and Southlake Blvd. intersection. Allowing cars to turn left from 2 lanes (from Kimball onto 1709) is so hazardous! If you are going to allow 2 lanes of traffic to turn left, this should only be done when protected (on an arrow)!
