Serviço Público Federal Serviço Público Federal UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DO RIO GRANDE DO SUL INSTITUTO DE FILOSOFIA E CIÊNCIAS HUMANAS DEPARTAMENTO DE FILOSOFIA O chefe do DEPARTAMENTO DE FILOSOFIA do INSTITUTO DE FILOSOFIA E CIÊNCIAS HUMANAS (IFCH) DA UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DO RIO GRANDE DO SUL, no uso de suas atribuições, de acordo com a Lei nº 12.772/2012, de 28/12/2012, e com a Decisão Nº 232/2014 do Conselho Universitário da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (CONSUN), torna público que estarão abertas, no período de 03/10/2019 a 18/10/2019, as inscrições para o processo avaliativo com vistas à promoção para a Classe E, com denominação de Professor Titular da Carreira do Magistério Superior. DOS REQUISITOS I - Possuir o título de Doutor; II - Ter cumprido o interstício mínimo de 24 (vinte e quatro) meses no último nível da Classe D, com denominação de Professor Associado; III - Ser aprovado em processo de Avaliação de Desempenho Acadêmico; IV – Lograr aprovação em defesa de Memorial, que deverá considerar as atividades de ensino, pesquisa, extensão, gestão acadêmica e produção profissional relevante de sua carreira acadêmica, ou em defesa de Tese Acadêmica inédita. DA INSCRIÇÃO As inscrições ao processo avaliativo serão recebidas pela Secretaria de Departamento no horário das 13h30 às 17h30, em formulário próprio (modelo Anexo I deste Edital), acompanhado da portaria da última progressão e do título de doutor, no qual o interessado optará por submeter-se à defesa de Memorial ou Tese Acadêmica inédita. A homologação da inscrição dar-se-á após a entrega, pelo docente, do seu Memorial ou Tese Acadêmica inédita, em formato eletrônico e físico, com vistas ao processo avaliativo, em no máximo quinze dias corridos desde a inscrição do docente em seu Departamento de lotação. O Departamento de lotação do docente encaminhará o Memorial ou Tese Acadêmica inédita à Comissão Especial de Avaliação designada. DA COMISSÃO ESPECIAL DE AVALIAÇÃO E DO CRONOGRAMA A Comissão Especial de Avaliação será composta por quatro integrantes, sendo três externos à Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. Todos os membros da Comissão deverão ser professores doutores titulares, ou equivalentes, em uma instituição de ensino superior, na área de Filosofia ou área afim. A composição da banca obedecerá às prescrições dos artigos 8 e 9 da Decisão 232/2014 do CONSUN da UFRGS. O cronograma do processo avaliativo será definido e fixado, consultados os membros da Comissão Especial de Avaliação, para conhecimento dos docentes participantes do processo avaliativo e divulgado através do site do IFCH. DO PROCESSO AVALIATIVO O processo avaliativo com vistas à promoção à classe E, com denominação de Professor Titular da Carreira do Magistério Superior, dar-se-á, no mínimo, 30 (trinta) dias após a entrega, ao Departamento, do Memorial ou Tese Acadêmica inédita e seguirá cronograma estabelecido pelo Departamento e divulgado no sítio eletrônico do IFCH. Da avaliação de desempenho acadêmico A avaliação de desempenho acadêmico levará em consideração as seguintes atividades desenvolvidas no período decorrido a partir de sua progressão a Professor Associado IV, com sua respectiva comprovação, através do Relatório de Atividades docentes constantes no sistema da UFRGS e outra comprovação relativa a atividades não constantes neste relatório: I – Atividades de ensino e orientação nos níveis de graduação e/ou pós-graduação; II – produção intelectual, atividades de pesquisa e extensão; III – avaliações do docente pelos discentes; IV – gestão acadêmica. A pontuação das atividades será feita conforme PLANILHA DE INDICADORES E VALORES do ANEXO II deste edital. Da defesa do memorial A defesa de Memorial deverá considerar as atividades de ensino, pesquisa, extensão, gestão e produção profissional do docente, entre outros, de toda a carreira do docente, de maneira a demonstrar: I - reconhecimento e liderança acadêmica; II - geração de conhecimento; III - formação de recursos humanos; IV - atividades administrativas e outros. O Memorial deve demonstrar obrigatoriamente dedicação ao ensino, à pesquisa e/ou à extensão. A defesa de Memorial será composta por apresentação de 40 (quarenta) a 50 (cinquenta) minutos do candidato e arguição de 10 (dez) minutos, no máximo, por examinador e tempo idêntico para a manifestação do candidato. A defesa de Memorial será realizada em sessão pública. Da Tese Acadêmica Inédita A Tese Acadêmica inédita deve configurar trabalho individual na área de conhecimento do docente, compatível com uma Tese de Doutorado. A defesa de Tese Acadêmica inédita será realizada em sessão pública. As condições para a defesa da Tese Acadêmica inédita, bem como o seu formato, serão regulamentadas pelo Conselho da Unidade, seguindo as normas da Pós-Graduação da UFRGS e ouvidos os Departamentos. DO RESULTADO De acordo com seu desempenho no processo avaliativo, o docente que está pleiteando promoção ou acesso será considerado “APTO” ou “NÃO APTO” em cada uma das seguintes modalidades de avaliação: I - Avaliação de Desempenho: o candidato considerado apto deverá alcançar, na avaliação de pelo menos três dos quatro membros da Comissão Especial de Avaliação, 50% ou mais da soma dos pontos propostos nos blocos I (ensino), II (produção intelectual, pesquisa e extensão) e III (avaliação do docente pelos discentes) da planilha do anexo II. A pontuação do bloco IV (gestão acadêmica) será usada como compensatória para o não atingimento do mínimo exigido nos itens I e II. II - Defesa de Memorial ou defesa de Tese Acadêmica inédita: o candidato deverá ser considerado apto por pelo menos três dos quatro membros da Comissão Especial de Avaliação. This paper defends ‘‘moral individualism’’ against various arguments that have been intended to show that membership in the human species or participation in our distinctively human form of life is a sufficient basis for a moral status higher than that of any animal. Among the arguments criticized are the ‘‘nature-of-the-kind argument,’’ which claims that it is the nature of all human beings to have certain higher psychological capacities, even if, contingently, some human beings lack them, and various versions of the idea that there is a special form of life that all human beings share but of which no animal can be a full participant. The paper concludes that none of these arguments succeeds in demonstrating that there are moral reasons to permit animals to be treated less well than members of our own species whose psychological capacities and potential are no higher than those of the animals. Although I am more deferential to moral intuition and to certain elements of common sense morality than he was, the conclusions at which I have arrived about various issues in practical ethics have tended to coincide rather closely with his, which is to say that they are abhorrent to all right- thinking people.

I trace how the evolution of the thinking of crucial French writers contributed to a new categorization of the notion of avarice, translated as either greed or cupidity in the early modern era. Contextualizing greed as discussed by the canon of early modern writers enables us to understand how the concept of avarice played a crucial role in the economic and political debates in France and throughout Europe, and the impact it ultimately had on the larger Mediterranean and Atlantic world. Greed transitions from a sin of overconsumption into one of over-accumulation. This shifting paradigm is crucial to shape our understanding of the longevity of the vice in Western thought. While the concept of greed appeared to become more stable over time, its recurrence did not mean avarice maintained the same status in literature or in French society at large. My dissertation explores the notion of greed not only in terms of its moral and religious implications, but historical and anthropological ones as well.
